123: Chapter 123 Assessment Suspended

Watching the Wolf Demons being quickly slaughtered on the big screen, an Elder from a prominent Family, also sitting in the front row, smiled and spoke to the Principal.

"These little brats don't know how to hold back; they've killed all the Wolf Demons. How are the following students supposed to take the assessment? How about this, Principal?"

"My Family also keeps some Semi-Divine alien races. As an apology, how about we pick one to serve as a temporary examination site?"

"The Fang Family is also willing to contribute to the school's assessment!"

"We shouldn't let you old friends have all the fun. The Chen Family will chip in too. After all, it's just a Semi-Divine alien race; it wouldn't matter much even if it died during the assessment."

A flying boat was heading towards the First High School. Inside the flying boat, the ten Semi-Divine alien races had bloodthirsty expressions on their faces.

Seeing that they were about to reach their destination, a Divine-Grade Elder from the Chen Family began to instruct them.

"I'll repeat this one more time: the primary task is to slaughter all the core Believers of those Divine Beings. As long as you can achieve this, you will gain your freedom."

"If anyone can make that kid lose face, or even threaten his safety—even if it's just scaring him—our Families are willing to give you an extra stash of Resources!"

Scanning the Semi-Divine alien races below, the Chen Family Elder's expression turned serious.

"This matter must succeed; failure is not an option! If you mess this up, believe me, death will become a luxury for you!"

Upon hearing this, the group of Semi-Divine alien races wore bloodthirsty smiles. Inside, however, they were indifferent; they had long been accustomed to such infighting among the Human Race.

It was nothing more than the kid being targeted having a special status. These people found it hard to act themselves, so they made them take the blame.

In the viewing stands of the First High School, several Elders from prominent Families were discussing the upcoming assessment matters with the Principal.

"We have carefully observed the previous battle between Young Friend Lin and his subordinates, both in terms of Believer strength and equipment."

"It has far exceeded the scope of ordinary students. In order not to misjudge or waste the talent and efforts of Young Friend Lin and the others,"

"I suggest we activate the Prodigy mode for the next assessment! Only then will the assessment results truly reflect Young Friend Lin's efforts and contributions."

"We share the same sentiment. With the strength of Young Friend Lin and his subordinates, wouldn't it be unfair to them if they still participated in the ordinary assessment?"

"I believe that with all the effort and Resources Young Friend Lin has invested, he certainly isn't aiming just for the status of an ordinary student."

"Furthermore, if Young Friend Lin can truly pass the Prodigy assessment, it would be a matter of immense honor for both the First High School and you personally, Principal."

"This is also true for Young Friend Lin and his group; with this achievement in hand, they can choose a good university after graduation. Don't you agree, Principal?"

Principal Li Qingyun frowned deeply, his gaze sweeping over the Family Elders beside him. He was naturally clear about the calculations they were making.

If it were any other ordinary student, he would have just gone with the flow and agreed. But this time, it involved Lin Xiao! Thinking of the strength of Xuan Liu and the others, he shook his head inwardly.

[These Families are truly blinded by greed. Given Young Friend Lin's status and Resources, do they really think they can gain any benefits if they push him too far?]

[I thought that after the previous rampage of the undead, everyone would recognize reality. Now it seems they just can't let go of their past glory...]

"I need to ask for the student's own opinion regarding this matter. If Young Friend Lin is unwilling, even as the Principal, I have no right to change the assessment mode without his consent."

Upon hearing this, several Elders looked at each other, polite smiles appearing on their faces.

"The Principal is absolutely right; such matters naturally require consulting the student himself."

While they were talking, the Wolf Demons in the Divine Kingdom had entered the final cleanup stage.

"I am not reconciled! We have clearly submitted to all of this, so why have we ended up in such a state!"

"Existence above the clouds, I beseech you to cast your gaze down with mercy. We have never violated your rules from beginning to end; why has it come to this!"

The dozen or so strongest Wolf Demons in the Qi Refining Realm knelt on the ground, kowtowing continuously towards the sky. Their tone was devout, hoping that the existence would show mercy.

Unfortunately, all of this was destined to be in vain. To the Tier 3 Principal, these Wolf Demons were nothing more than tools used to hone the students.

If this batch died, it would be no big deal to spend a few years cultivating more. Not to mention these Believers, even that Semi-Divine-Grade gray wolf...

...the Principal could deal with it himself if needed.

The younger generation in the Qi Refining Realm kept dying, yet there was still no movement in the sky. Until this moment, those dozen or so Wolf Clan Elders finally recognized reality.

They had become sacrifices...

"Since we have already become sacrifices, then let us fight!"

"Having lived in ignominy for hundreds of years, has this day finally come..."

"Hahahaha! Compared to dying of old age in an Immortal Cave, I would rather die on the battlefield! Damn Human Race, prepare to face our wrath!"

The children of the prominent Families listened to the wolf howls in the distance, all with expressions of disdain on their faces.

"Beasts are just beasts; they can't see the situation clearly. Wouldn't it be better to just die obediently? Why struggle so hard when no amount of effort can change the outcome?"

"It's about done here. I imagine the Principal will soon announce the temporary suspension of this boring assessment."

Even though those dozen or so Wolf Clan Elders gave their all, facing hundreds of Low Grade Magical Artifact Puppets, they could only die with hearts full of unwillingness.

After they died, their bodies were quickly collected by the Puppets. In the future, they might be used as spirit food, or as Materials for armor and the like.

Continuing to contribute strength to the enemies who killed them...

On the viewing stand, the Principal first notified Lin Xiao. After they had withdrawn all their Believers, he then pulled him out.

The Principal briefly explained the current situation to Lin Xiao, and finally added his own point of view.

"Those Families and forces have gone to such great lengths, clearly with ill intentions. Young Friend, do not act on impulse and fall for their schemes. As long as you are unwilling,"

"I guarantee that no one in the First High School can force you!"

After hearing the ins and outs of the matter, an interesting smile appeared on Lin Xiao's face.

"It's hard for them to go to such great lengths; if I don't go, wouldn't I be wasting their good intentions? This kid would like to ask, does this so-called Prodigy mode have any restrictions?"

"For example, are there restrictions on using certain equipment, Medicinal Pills, and so on?"

Principal Li Qingyun shook his head gently upon hearing this.

"Whether it's equipment, Medicinal Pills, or other special items, at the end of the day, these are all part of your strength. It's not like you wouldn't be allowed to use this or that when facing real enemies in the future, right?"

"Although there are no restrictions in these aspects, I still want to give you a piece of advice, Young Friend. The other party has ill intentions, and I fear those Semi-Divines have also been strengthened by them to a certain extent."

"Although Semi-Divines are indeed not as powerful as gods, ten of them is no joke. If those Families are willing to spend more Resources..."

Hearing the end, Lin Xiao couldn't help but chuckle.

"As for safety, I am not worried. If the situation really becomes critical, my subordinates will naturally not sit idly by."

"As for the Resources from those Families? I actually hope there are as many as possible; that way it will be more fun to play."

"By the way, I shouldn't need to hand over the spoils of war I win later, right?"
