8: Chapter 8 Tong Qian's Unconventional Lesson Plan
Waking up in the morning, he stretched and a Spirit Fruit appeared in his hand. After eating three in a row, Lin Xiao finally stopped and sent his consciousness into the Divine Kingdom to take a look.
The Believers were performing their respective duties: some were planting fruits and vegetables, others were raising common livestock. There were frolicking children and adults with faces full of smiles—it was a scene of burgeoning prosperity.
He checked the time on his wristwatch and discovered that he had already received more than a dozen unread emails.
[Chen Liang, from a branch of the third generation of the Chen Family in Anping County, sends greetings to Lord Lin. This is my communication ID. I have prepared a banquet at Manyue Restaurant and hope my Lord can grace us with your presence.]
The Liu Family, Hu Family, Fang Family, grain merchants, mining merchants, and so on—everyone Lin Xiao remembered and everyone he didn't had sent him an email.
The contents weren't much different from Chen Liang's previous mail. He added their communication IDs one by one and sent messages back to schedule times and locations.
He didn't have much to do lately anyway, regardless of what purpose these third-generation members had in wanting to befriend him.
There was no need to act overly aloof; having more connections was always good.
Seeing that it was almost eight o'clock, he put on an item that looked like a delicate earpiece from beside his bed.
The creation began a mechanical transformation, and in the blink of an eye, the tiny earpiece became a helmet with a highly sci-fi style.
Connecting his thoughts to the virtual world, his surroundings instantly turned into a classroom. The students who had already arrived saw him and nodded in greeting with smiles on their faces.
“My Lord, please come this way. We have already saved a seat for you.”
Wang Tao walked over quickly and led him to a seat near the front. Su Xue, who was beside them, immediately stood up and greeted him respectfully.
Seeing the three of them like this, the students present all showed expressions of contemplation, surprise, and calculation in their eyes.
Just then, a flash of light appeared at the podium, and the class teacher, Teacher Tong Qian, appeared on the stage looking capable and professional.
“Class is starting now. Everyone, sit back in your seats.”
Unlike the Blue Star before his transmigration, there was no such thing as a troublemaker in the classrooms of the Divine Realm. Facing a teacher of the Deity rank, a mere Divine Being who dared to act up was essentially no different from seeking death.
A huge projection floated in front of Teacher Tong Qian. A line of large characters was displayed on it: The Limitations of Vision.
Looking at the trio of Lin Xiao in the front row, she sighed inwardly. The presence of a major figure in the class forced her to revise her teaching methods.
Just like this opening of the lesson, it was the first time in her teaching career that she had taken the initiative to talk about this stuff; when she taught students before, she wouldn't mention anything about limitations.
“First of all, congratulations to all students for officially entering the third year of high school. For the next year, I will teach you about the specific management of the Divine Kingdom.
Whether you choose to take the logistics support route or the war route, learning this knowledge will not be harmful to you.”
Pausing slightly, she glanced again at Lin Xiao, who was listening intently in the front row. Then, she enlarged the projection in front of her.
“Before I begin teaching, I must admit that as a mere First-order Deity, my vision, experience, and understanding of the entire Divine Realm are actually one-sided.
Everything is based on my past experiences. In front of Deities of higher ranks, some concepts might even be wrong. This is my limitation as a First-order Deity.
Therefore, in the following lessons, you need to have your own judgment about what is right and what is not. But I do not accept any questioning!
If you feel it's wrong, don't want to listen, or think it's a waste of time, then you don't have to come. At the stage of a Divine Being, the focus should naturally be placed within the Divine Kingdom.
That's enough for the digression. If any student wants to leave, they can go now.”
The classroom was dead silent. What a joke. They were only Divine Beings; when a Deity-level class teacher was being polite, who would dare to actually leave?
Thinking of this, the students in the class subconsciously focused their eyes on Lin Xiao in the front row. It seemed their class really did have someone who would dare to leave.
After waiting for a moment and seeing that Lin Xiao had no intention of leaving, Teacher Tong Qian waved her hand, and the text on the projection changed: Believers.
“I presume all students have already come into contact with their Divine Kingdoms yesterday. From today onwards, your primary task is to develop your Divine Kingdom.
And if you want to develop the Divine Kingdom, you cannot bypass your Believers. Can any student tell me what Believers look like in your eyes?”
The classroom was silent. Teacher Tong Qian’s eyes swept across the room and she began calling names directly.
“Wang Tao, you tell us.”
Not expecting the teacher to call his name, he subconsciously glanced at the Lord beside him. He stood up and gave the standard textbook answer.
“Believers are the foundation of all Divine Beings. When the Believers’ strength becomes powerful, they will provide feedback to the Divine Lord—which is us.
And the strength of the Believers also concerns whether we can promote to a Demigod. As a Divine Lord, how to better improve the strength of the Believers is the responsibility we need to bear.”
Teacher Tong Qian nodded, signaling that he could sit down.
“A very textbook answer. Aside from the nonsense, there isn't a single bit of useful information.”
*Whoosh...*
They hadn't expected the class teacher to critique the textbook content like this, which made the students, who had been good children for over ten years, find it somewhat hard to believe.
This was the limitation of Class 7. Among the parents and relatives they could reach, not a single one was a Deity. Let alone a Deity, if even one parent were a Demigod, they wouldn't possibly appear in Class 7.
Restricted by their own limitations and the limitations of their environment, they would only, and could only, regard the school's textbooks as the golden rule.
But today—or more accurately, before Lin Xiao left Class 7—Teacher Tong Qian would no longer teach according to the standards of Class 7.
Regarding this point, besides the principal's hint, she also had her own thoughts. As a Deity, it was impossible for her to take the initiative to become Lin Xiao's Slave God.
If the other party were an illegitimate child acknowledged by the Lin Family of Xuanyuan Star, then being his Slave God would certainly not be disgraceful. But if that were truly the case, she, a mere First-order Deity, wouldn't even have the qualifications.
And since he wasn't acknowledged by the Lin Family, he didn't have that much of an attraction for her, who had already become a Deity. So her current situation was a bit awkward.
After thinking it over, the other party still had Lin Family blood flowing in him after all. What if he was acknowledged by the main family one day? So, she simply spent the whole night revising her lesson plan.
It was all to curry favor with him; for this year, she would do her best to teach him.
A burst of pressure instantly swept through the entire classroom. Well, of course, it also avoided the seats where the trio of Lin Xiao sat.
The originally noisy classroom instantly fell silent.
This was the teaching method of a Deity. If they could use force, no teacher would talk to you about being quiet. Under the sweep of pressure, if you weren't quiet, you'd be crushed; with mental damage, you wouldn't be able to listen properly for at least a week.
“What student Wang Tao said just now is indeed correct, but it's too hollow. Who doesn't know that promoting to a Demigod requires the Believers' strength to meet the standard?
Who doesn't know that developing the Divine Kingdom requires properly improving the strength of the Believers? All of this is nonsense! What I am going to teach you next is: Majesty.”
Following Teacher Tong Qian's words, a sub-category appeared under 'Believers' on the projection, displaying the word 'Majesty'.
Seeing this, Lin Xiao instantly became alert. This wasn't in the textbooks at all. He didn't know if it could be found in public records, but anyway, this was the first time he had heard of it.
“Majesty is your image in the hearts of your Believers as a Divine Lord. Majestic, sacred, and inviolable!
I know you will be confused. As Believers, don't they already regard you as everything? Believers will do anything you say, including going to their deaths.
In that case, Majesty doesn't seem to have anything special? After all, as Divine Lords, you are already sacred and inviolable.”
