3: The ingenious use of the Heaven-Swallowing Gourd: Planning for the Future

"Holy crap, where did this golden eagle come from!"

As the crisis struck, Li Yun's expression changed drastically.

He activated his Purple Gold Divine Pupils and stared intently at the attacking golden eagle; its speed seemed to slow down significantly at that moment.

Of course, it wasn't that the opponent had given up the attack, but rather a characteristic of the Purple Gold Divine Pupils that allowed the opponent's speed to be greatly decelerated within his field of vision.

Simultaneously, within Li Yun's eyes, the golden eagle's entire body began to glow brilliantly, and a purple-gold point of light shone particularly bright in its lower abdomen.

"Is that its weakness?"

A sharp light flickered in his eyes, and Li Yun's breathing quickened slightly.

His initial feelings of panic quickly cooled down. Seeing the golden eagle get closer and closer, he became eerily calm.

In the blink of an eye, the golden eagle's massive body was already close to where Lin Fan was.

Its sharp claws lunged out, aiming straight for his head, seemingly intending to kill him in a single strike.

"Now!"

With purple-gold light shining in his eyes, Li Yun suddenly crouched down, narrowly avoiding the attack of those claws.

The cold, sharp claws swept past just above his head, but because of his Indestructible Vajra Body Physique, the resulting sonic boom posed no threat to Li Yun.

At that moment, Li Yun suddenly looked up, locking onto the golden eagle, his right hand clenched into a fist as he waited patiently.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Three!"

"Die!"

His fists erupted with power as Li Yun suddenly threw a punch upward.

The next second, his fist slammed directly into the golden eagle's lower abdomen, right on the area emitting the purple-gold glow.

"Roar~"

A miserable scream resounded. The golden eagle's massive body stiffened for a moment, then blood began to pour from its seven orifices. Its diving momentum came to a sudden halt, and its nearly hundred-meter-long body was sent flying upward. Its abdomen exploded, spraying countless drops of blood like a torrential downpour.

Before it could even let out another scream, the golden eagle was dead. Its massive body spiraled several times in the sky before crashing directly onto the platform where Li Yun stood, kicking up a huge cloud of dust and causing the ground to tremble slightly.

"Phew~"

With the crisis averted, Li Yun breathed a sigh of relief.

He had survived.

Moreover, he had managed to kill the golden eagle in a counter-attack. Fortunately, he had fused with the innate gourd vine and the seven gourds; otherwise, he would have certainly died upon encountering the golden eagle.

"But this golden eagle should still have some value!"

A flash of inspiration hit him. Li Yun thought of something and stepped toward the golden eagle's corpse.

This golden eagle was undoubtedly a Yao Beast, though Li Yun wasn't sure of its exact cultivation level. However, such a massive demonic body was definitely not something simple.

Although it wasn't qualified to be a target for his Fusion, he hadn't forgotten that he still had a swallowing heaven gourd in his hand.

This was something that could take in all things and refine them into wine that could enhance one's own strength. The golden eagle's corpse could be put to good use!

Thinking of this, with a thought, Li Yun directly summoned the swallowing heaven gourd.

However, he didn't open the lid immediately. Instead, he bit the tip of his tongue and spat a mouthful of essence blood onto the swallowing heaven gourd.

Although it was a reward from the System, it hadn't been refined yet, so he couldn't fully control it.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have needed to panic when the golden eagle attacked earlier; he could have simply activated the swallowing heaven gourd to suck it in.

"Buzz, buzz~"

As the essence blood merged into the gourd, the swallowing heaven gourd glowed brightly, and Li Yun immediately felt a connection established between them.

With this, the swallowing heaven gourd's ownership was successfully claimed.

Simultaneously, Li Yun opened the lid of the swallowing heaven gourd without hesitation and shouted, "Collect!"

The next second, a wild wind rose.

The swallowing heaven gourd erupted with a terrifying suction force, directly covering the golden eagle's hundred-meter-wide massive body.

Following that, the golden eagle's corpse began to shrink at a pace visible to the naked eye. In just three breaths, it was absorbed into the swallowing heaven gourd.

Pop~

He casually replaced the lid and shook the wine gourd a few times, a smirk playing on his lips. "Interesting, it can actually display information."

As the golden eagle was sucked inside, information from the swallowing heaven gourd was transmitted to Li Yun's mind.

[Race: Red Sun Golden Eagle (Low Grade Innate Deity)]

[Cultivation: Heavenly Immortal Realm Early Stage]

[Refinement Time: Three hours]

[Wine Properties: Increases fire resistance; increases 100 years of cultivation!]

"Three hours!"

"Not only can it increase fire resistance, but it can also increase a hundred years of cultivation."

"Not bad, not bad. I wonder how much my Realm will rise after gaining a hundred years of cultivation."

As he spoke, Li Yun's gaze wandered around, his eyes filled with contemplation and deep thought.

His first objective was complete.

He had absorbed the innate gourd vine, improved his own foundation, and received a large wave of rewards, giving him the capital to establish himself in the prehistoric world.

But after what just happened, Li Yun also understood that his current strength was far from enough. To quickly increase his power, besides secluded cultivation, the only way was to continue fusing with other innate spiritual roots to enhance his foundation and abilities.

As a transmigrator...

Li Yun knew very well that Mount Buzhou contained more than just the innate gourd vine. There was also the banana tree and the twenty-four primordial lotus; both were among the ten great innate spiritual roots.

Unlike the Main Body of the innate gourd vine which became the Human-Creating Whip—where one of the seven gourds withered and died while the other six were divided among the Sanqing, Dijun, Donghuang Taiyi, Hongyun, and others—

The Main Body of the banana tree, one of the ten great innate spiritual roots, was not captured but consciously escaped. Only its four banana leaves were divided, turning into four Banana Fans with different attributes, which were also high-grade innate spirit treasures.

Furthermore, the twenty-four primordial lotus was also on Mount Buzhou. It was eventually divided by the Sanqing into the Red Flower, White Lotus Root, and Green Lotus Leaf, becoming the Sanqing's Dao-Validation Treasures.

However, at this point in time, the Sanqing and others had not yet arrived at Mount Buzhou, and the twenty-four primordial lotus had not yet been divided.

If he could speed up, he might be able to intercept them in advance. When that time comes... "The twenty-four primordial lotus!"

"The banana tree!"

"I must find and fuse with them first."

"As long as I can absorb and fuse three of the ten great innate spiritual roots into myself, my foundation will surpass that of top-tier Innate Deities and reach the stage of an Innate God-Demon, and it will also bring some special talents and Spirit Treasure rewards."

Having made up his mind, a sharp light flashed in Li Yun's eyes as he reached a decision, and he became excited.

Without further hesitation, Li Yun turned and left the vast cliffside. He didn't want to be treated as prey by those Yao Beasts again.

His cultivation at this stage was still too weak. He needed to increase his strength. Most importantly, he needed to Cultivate the Transformation Techniques of the 108 Earthly Fiend Transformations, as well as some divine abilities and Spells he required!
