48: First visit to West Kunlun, Black Water Pool in the Canyon

It wasn't until Laozi and Yuanshi left that Tongtian finally snapped out of his daze.

Looking at the empty hall with only himself and Li Yun left, a trace of helplessness appeared on his face.

Then, Tongtian looked at Li Yun and said, "Fellow Daoist Li Yun, follow me!"

"Let's pick up the pace!"

"We'll go to your residence area first, then we need to pay a visit to Fellow Daoist Queen Mother of the West!"

"After all, you will be living within the range of West Kunlun Mountain. As she is the Master of West Kunlun, it's necessary to greet her."

"Alright!"

Nodding, Li Yun did not refuse.

He knew that what Tongtian said was true; if he didn't greet the Queen Mother of the West, he would surely face a lot of trouble later.

Conversely, with Tongtian personally taking him to greet her, many unnecessary troubles in the future could be avoided, allowing him to Cultivate in seclusion more safely and smoothly.

Without further delay, the two of them rose into the clouds and left the Three Pure Ones Palace, flying straight toward West Kunlun... In the western part of Kunlun Mountain, Li Yun and Tongtian's figures streaked across the sky.

Before long, the two reached the outskirts of West Kunlun.

As far as the eye could see, the concentration of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi in the entire West Kunlun was not inferior to that of Kunlun Mountain; however, it was merely a mountain range established as an offshoot of Kunlun Mountain.

Because of this, West Kunlun didn't have many peaks towering into the clouds; instead, large areas were just rolling mountain ranges.

Upon leaving the main Kunlun Mountain area, Li Yun and Tongtian immediately arrived at a canyon.

Looking down from above, the canyon stretched on, with mountain winds whistling through it. Faint traces of Yao Beasts could be seen roaming or nesting within.

"Fellow Daoist Tongtian, the residence you mentioned couldn't be here, could it?"

Sizing up the canyon's scenery, Li Yun spoke with some helplessness.

After all, this canyon really didn't look like much, and it didn't even inspire much desire to explore, let alone live there long-term.

"Fellow Daoist, don't look down on this place."

With the corners of his mouth curling up, a smile appeared on Tongtian's face as he said, "This canyon is not simple. One could even say it is an excellent place for cultivation."

"This canyon is actually connected to the Spiritual Veins within Kunlun Mountain. Because of this, several areas deep within have a concentration of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi even higher than where Fellow Daoist Queen Mother of the West lives."

"It's just that this area looks a bit desolate, which is why Fellow Daoist Queen Mother of the West abandoned it, but it's still not a place just anyone can move into!"

Hearing this, a glint flashed in Li Yun's eyes.

If this were truly the case, then the area inside the canyon would indeed be a very good place for cultivation.

Thinking of this, Li Yun immediately spoke up: "It's acceptable!"

"But Fellow Daoist Tongtian, are you sure there's a connection to the Kunlun Mountain Spiritual Veins here?"

"If that's the case, can it be found?"

Although the information Tongtian provided was indeed tempting, if the exact location of the Spiritual Vein connection couldn't be found, wouldn't it be meaningless?

"Of course!"

Nodding, Tongtian's hands formed a hand seal as he shouted, "Open!"

The next second, Tongtian's eyes snapped open, flashing with green light as his gaze began to scan the canyon below.

As time passed, Tongtian's gaze quickly locked onto an area: "Found it. Fellow Daoist, follow me!"

After saying that, Tongtian flew straight toward a certain spot within the canyon.

Seeing this, Li Yun did not hesitate and immediately flew down after Tongtian.

Before long, the two of them reached the bottom of the canyon and arrived directly at a pool bubbling with black spring water.

After landing, a hint of surprise appeared in Tongtian's eyes as he said, "I didn't expect there to be such a Spiritual Land here."

"Although it's not an Immortal Cave, the value of this pool is indeed quite good, and the source of the Spiritual Vein is also here. As long as you can occupy it, your cultivation speed and efficiency will not be inferior at all to the cultivation spots of the main Spiritual Veins inside Kunlun Mountain."

"Fellow Daoist Li Yun, what do you think?"

Hearing this, Li Yun didn't immediately express his stance; instead, he activated his Purple Gold Divine Pupils to look at the pool of black water.

Under the gaze of the Purple Gold Divine Pupils, Li Yun could clearly feel an incredibly dense concentration of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi gathered here, especially in the deepest part, where there were indeed fluctuations from a gushing Spiritual Vein.

In addition, he was surprised to find that his Purple Gold Divine Pupils were actually blocked by a special force; it seemed something deep underground was preventing his insight.

"There's a treasure at the very bottom of this pool!"

"Something that can block the probe of the Purple Gold Divine Pupils is definitely not simple!"

At this moment, Li Yun was extremely excited internally, but he didn't show any outward sign of it. He pretended to ponder for a moment and said, "In that case, this place will do."

"However, Yao Beasts frequently appear in this area, so the difficulty of occupying it is quite high."

"No need to worry."

Laughing heartily, Tongtian immediately took full responsibility: "Fellow Daoist Li Yun, since I'm finding a residence for you, how could I choose randomly?"

"There are indeed many Yao Beasts, but at most they are only at the Golden Immortal Realm. I'll set up a Great Formation for you in this area, so those fellows won't be able to break in and disturb you."

"Even an ordinary Grand Unity Golden Immortal wouldn't be able to break my Formation. You can Cultivate here with peace of mind."

As he spoke, Tongtian immediately went into action.

He threw out Spirit Stones carrying the Formation's core, which integrated directly into the surrounding ground.

In just a few breaths, a Great Formation quietly rose, covering the entire area of the pool.

"Open for me!"

With a low growl, the Great Formation rose and enveloped the pool area.

After finishing all this, Tongtian stopped, turned to Li Yun, and tossed him a Spirit Stone, saying, "Fellow Daoist Li Yun, this is the Activation Spirit Stone for the Great Formation."

"With this in hand, you will be able to enter, and you can even use this Spirit Stone to mobilize the Formation's Killing Power to ensure your safety while cultivating here!"

"Thank you, Fellow Daoist Tongtian!"

Looking at the emerging Formation, Li Yun also broke into a knowing smile.

Tongtian's Great Formation was undoubtedly powerful, and this place was a very good cultivation spot for him. Most importantly, there might be a treasure hidden beneath the pool.

However, since Tongtian was still around, it wouldn't be appropriate for him to go down and investigate directly. He would wait until Tongtian left to explore.

Thinking of this, Li Yun changed the subject: "Now that the residence is settled, let's go meet Fellow Daoist Queen Mother of the West!"

"Once we handle things as quickly as possible, you can also go back to Cultivate!"

"No rush."

However, unexpectedly, Tongtian suddenly waved his hand and stared at Li Yun with piercing eyes, saying, "Fellow Daoist, the matter of meeting the Queen Mother of the West can wait for a moment. I have something else I'd like to ask you."

"May I ask, Fellow Daoist, besides Attaining the Dao through Strength, are there other Methods of Proving the Dao? And do you know the details of those other methods?"

"Although I don't quite understand what you are planning, you give me the feeling that you have foreknowledge of many things. I hope you can provide some guidance."
