49: Chapter 49 A Temporary Awakening of Worldly Desires - The Young Master Descends to Earth

The Human Race is the existence closest to Pangu's Dao body among all living beings; the mere naming of it as "Human" destined its extraordinary essence.

The reason the Human Race dominated the heavens and earth in later ages was not only due to the manipulation of the Sages but also because of their own uniqueness.

The Three Daos of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity stand together: The Heavenly Dao governs order, the Earthly Dao manages reincarnation, and the Human Dao commands the will of all living beings.

And between the Human Race and the Human Dao, there exists an inseparable resonance. In the ancient Primordial Era, names carried meaning and even contained Heavenly Destiny!

Therefore, the Human Race—Jiang Chen was determined to obtain it. No matter what means he had to use, he would hold it firmly in his palm.

The game against the Heavenly Dao had only just begun; this contest would surely span countless epochs.

The two were like chess players, using the Primordial World as a chessboard and all living beings as pieces.

The Pangu Bloodline represented by the Twelve Ancestral Witches was a key move in his hand, with a clear goal: to dominate an epoch.

And following closely behind, it would be the time for the Human Race to take the stage!

From beginning to end, Jiang Chen was only obsessed with one goal—to devour the Primordial World, this eternal realm, and ultimately ascend to the supreme realm of eternal heights.

He had once considered going to other worlds within the Eternal Chaos. Previously, when discussing the Dao with Yang Mei, he had glimpsed many secrets of the chaos.

For example, when Pangu opened the heavens back then, not all Chaos Fiendgods perished; more than ten beings with heaven-defying cultivation escaped the catastrophe, opened up their own Dao domains in the depths of the chaos, and evolved into a world.

His thoughts drifted far, but Jiang Chen pulled his mind back. His gaze fell upon Nuwa in the valley. He stood silently for a moment, then his figure shifted, and his appearance changed abruptly.

A light mirror appeared before his eyes, reflecting his new face. Jiang Chen stared into the mirror, his expression rippling slightly; it was the face that belonged to him when he was a human in his previous life.

"Since stepping into the Primordial World, this seat seems to have never truly stopped to travel." He sighed with a smile. From descending in the Fifth Epoch, until now in the Ninth Epoch, four epochs had passed, yet he had never carefully observed this world.

"Why not take this opportunity to temporarily set aside my obsession and taste the pleasures of the mortal world for once."

The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, and the aura around his body quietly shifted, transforming from the cold, ruthless ruler who once stood above all living beings and disregarded them, into a gentle, leisurely young master.

However, this was merely a facade; his heart remained as silent as a cold abyss, unmoved by external things.

Immediately, he stepped through the air and headed toward the valley.

By the lakeside, Nuwa was combing through her waterfall-like dark hair. Her fingertips slid through her tresses, and she hummed a tune, her voice like clear springs striking stones, melodious and pleasant. The birds around her came upon hearing the sound, circling her gracefully, singing in harmony.

Suddenly, a figure descended from the sky, standing lightly on the lake surface, ripples spreading out, startling the flock of birds into flapping their wings and scattering.

Nuwa was startled and raised her eyes to look.

She saw a man standing upon the water ripples, handsome and refined, with black hair cascading to his waist and dark tresses at his temples gently fluttering in the wind.

His sword-like eyebrows reached his temples, and his phoenix eyes contained light, clear as autumn water and bright as stars. His nose was straight, and his lips were thin as if carved.

His white robes were whiter than snow, his sleeves jade-like, and he wore shoes of flowing clouds. Every gesture exuded an aura of gentleness and elegance.

This person was none other than Jiang Chen.

He smiled slightly and bowed to Nuwa with folded hands: "I am Jiang Chen. Seeing such beautiful mountains and rivers, I was captivated and appeared rashly. I have disturbed your cultivation, Young Lady, please forgive me."

Hearing his voice and seeing his appearance, Nuwa was momentarily dazed, her heart beating faster involuntarily. Realizing her loss of composure, she hurriedly lowered her head, her cheeks flushing red, and replied in a low voice: "It... it is fine."

A trace of a smile flashed in the depths of Jiang Chen's eyes. As a being with the Pangu Bloodline, he naturally possessed an affinity for the living beings of the Primordial World, and especially toward women, he had an irresistible charm.

He walked across the water, approaching step by step, his face always smiling, his hair fluttering, looking graceful and dashing, as if he were a person from a painting.

Seeing him approach, Nuwa's heart beat even faster; she felt both timid and expectant, her emotions complex.

"May I ask for the Young Lady's name?" Jiang Chen stopped and asked with a smile.

"Ah?" Nuwa suddenly came back to her senses, hurriedly stood up to return the bow, her voice as faint as a mosquito's hum: "I... my name is Nuwa."

"Nuwa? A good name." Jiang Chen smiled and nodded.

"Tha... thank you."

Hearing his praise, a hint of sweetness welled up in Nuwa's heart, and she was secretly delighted.

"Fellow Daoist Jiang Chen's name is also excellent. Morning breeze by the river, clear and transcendent, it perfectly complements your temperament." She pursed her lips and smiled faintly.

"Hahaha, Fellow Daoist Nuwa is too kind." Jiang Chen laughed heartily, his voice like a bell chime, deep and magnetic, feeling like soft cotton in the ears, making one's heart tremble slightly.

Looking at her shy and blushing appearance, Jiang Chen mocked himself inwardly: "Acting like this, I really do resemble those playboys of later ages."

The two were silent for a moment, and the atmosphere was slightly subtle. Nuwa lightly waved her rainbow dress, and amidst the flowing immortal light, an elegant tea table appeared by the lakeside, with two meditation cushions laid out quietly.

"Fellow Daoist Jiang Chen, you have come from afar, please sit."

"Pardon the intrusion." Jiang Chen bowed in greeting and then sat down on the cushion.

Nuwa also sat down gracefully. The teapot on the table poured by itself, two cups of clear tea floated into the air, one cup flew into Jiang Chen's hand, and one landed steadily in Nuwa's palm.

Jiang Chen held the cup and sipped lightly, his sleeves brushing slightly, and his eyes lit up instantly: "Fragrant and moist down the throat, sweet and crisp like dew, wonderful!"

"This place is remote, it is only acquired spiritual tea, I hope it does not make you laugh, Fellow Daoist." Nuwa spoke modestly, her tone slightly awkward.

Jiang Chen waved his hand lightly, his expression solemn, and he spoke slowly: "Fellow Daoist Nuwa, you are mistaken in saying that. The true meaning of tea does not lie in the tea itself, but in the state of mind of the person drinking it. Drinking tea is like experiencing life; every cup of tea is a segment of fate."

"Tea has no distinction of high or low, only different tastes."

When these words fell, Nuwa froze in place, as if a thunderbolt had struck her mind, shaking her Dao thoughts.

In an instant, a mysterious Dao rhyme permeated from within her body, the laws trembled slightly, turning into a strand of melodious Dao sound, echoing endlessly in the valley.

Jiang Chen's eyes flickered slightly, looking at the strange phenomena swirling around Nuwa, waves rose in his heart—she... had an epiphany?

Just because of his few words about the tea Dao, it actually made Nuwa enter the state of epiphany on the spot!

"No wonder the Heavenly Dao chose her as one of the Sages; such comprehension is heaven-defying, not inferior to the Innate Demon God!" Jiang Chen exclaimed inwardly.

Time seemed to stand still; it was unknown whether a thousand years or ten thousand years had passed.

When Nuwa opened her eyes again, her aura was completely different. Her cultivation had leapt from the early stage of Taiyi Golden Immortal to the early stage of Daluo Golden Immortal, a whole major realm! This was the power of epiphany; one day of enlightenment was better than ten thousand years of cultivation!

Not only that, but a vigorous aura of life surged from her body—that was the manifestation of the Life Law! It meant that in her epiphany, she had already comprehended the Dao of Life.

Although the Life Law was not one of the top ten supreme laws, it originated from the Creation Law. If there was enough opportunity, it could eventually transform and point directly to Creation!

Nuwa slowly stood up, intending to thank Jiang Chen, but saw the meditation cushion opposite her was empty and silent, and that person had long since disappeared without a trace.

"Left?" She pursed her lips lightly, the joy on her face gradually dimming, replaced by a faint loneliness.

Just at this moment, a clear, resonant voice came from behind: "You have finally awakened."

The familiar tone made Nuwa turn around abruptly and stand up suddenly.
