110: The hard-working pangolin!

“Damn humans!”

In the vast mountains of the Northeast region, a Pangolin was grumbling as it traversed the mountain ridges, looking quite disheveled.

As it walked, it occasionally turned its head to gaze back, with deep apprehension and anger hidden in its eyes.

The Pangolin had previously led ferocious beasts to attack human cities, and everything had been going exceptionally smoothly. However, by an unfortunate coincidence, they suddenly encountered a human nuclear bomb carpet bombing.

This sudden change directly resulted in heavy losses for its beast army. If it hadn't run fast and possessed the excellent ability to dig holes and burrow underground, it probably would have vanished into thin air along with those beasts.

Recalling the situation at the time, the Pangolin couldn't help but show a trace of lingering fear, “But I have to admit, humans are indeed an extraordinary race.”

“After countless mushroom clouds bloomed, even ferocious beasts would die instantly.”

“Damn it! If my skin were thinner, I would probably already be a corpse, lying in a human laboratory!”

The Pangolin looked at the charred black marks on its leg, and couldn't help but grumble again.

It had taken a long time for it to recover from the human nuclear bombardment, after which it hastily fled back to the deep mountains with a few surviving beasts.

Fortunately, those humans did not continue to pursue, otherwise it would be even more disheveled than it was now.

Thinking of this, the Pangolin almost roared, “Damn it, wait until my bloodline is fully awakened, and I will definitely make you pay!”

It only felt somewhat better after its voice echoed several times in the mountain forest before disappearing.

Suddenly, the Pangolin stopped, turned around abruptly, and cursed incessantly, “Why are you always looking at that human phone? Is our failure this time not big enough?”

The one being cursed was an old dire wolf.

It was stunned for a moment with a terrified expression, then offered the phone like a treasure, excitedly saying, “Great King, look at this!”

“I wasn't using the phone for amusement, but rather to gather intelligence about a treasure!”

The Pangolin was half-skeptical. After taking the phone and glancing at it a few times, its eyes suddenly widened.

In the picture, Tai Xu Mountain was radiating brilliant light, clearly indicating the appearance of a great treasure. Moreover, as it stared at the screen, the bloodline within its body also revealed streams of information, immediately filling it with surprise and joy, “This... this is a divine weapon descending!”

It was no wonder it was so excited.

Nowadays, almost all ferocious beasts with some strength understood that in addition to their own power, various divine weapons could also become part of their combat strength.

As long as these divine weapons were obtained, they would advance even further!

Unconsciously, the Pangolin began to murmur, unsure whether it was speaking to the beasts beside it or to itself, “Back then, our ancestor tried so hard, yet was still suppressed by the Eight Immortals, who relied on so-called predetermined destiny, leading to the decline of our clan to this day.”

“But this time, I must succeed!”

Although the few beasts found these words somewhat inexplicable, they were extremely happy to see their Great King regain his spirits, and immediately offered congratulations.

The old dire wolf even had the intention of taking credit, “It seems there are benefits to paying more attention to information from the human world.”

“Anyway, we would definitely not have known news from other places this quickly.”

Thump—

As soon as it finished speaking, the Pangolin hit its head hard, and then spoke earnestly, “Don't boost others' morale and diminish your own prestige.”

“However, you are also right.”

“If it weren't for humans, how would I have known that a divine weapon had descended upon Tai Xu Mountain?”

“Hahahaha…”

After a while, the Pangolin's laughter ceased, and it fell into contemplation.

The descending divine weapon was indeed tempting, but... that was an ecological zone controlled by humans, and from the phone screen, it appeared that the area was surrounded by human soldiers.

It even saw the things that created mushroom clouds, and couldn't help but worry, “If I'm hit by that kind of weapon a few more times, I might really die.”

“Why do humans have such things? They are clearly very weak!”

A strong sense of unwillingness spread wildly in the Pangolin's heart.

It stared intently at the phone screen for a while, then looked back at its remaining subordinates, and couldn't help but harden its resolve, throwing the phone to the old dire wolf, “I don't care anymore!”

“If I can obtain that divine weapon, no attack will ever be able to harm me again!”

...At the same time, on a mountain in the Northeast region, far from the Pangolin but still within the same area, the Monkey King also saw a video about Tai Xu Mountain on a phone it had obtained from humans.

When it confirmed that a divine weapon had indeed descended there, it was overjoyed, “Hahahaha, if such a divine weapon falls into this King's hands, no matter what Tiger King or Dog King you are, you will have to submit!”

“This time, I will restore the majesty of my ancestor, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, hahahaha…”

The rampant laughter quickly spread in all directions. Many Monkey Head gathered around, and although they didn't know what had made their Great King so happy, they also joined in with strange cries.

“Where are the things I asked you to collect?”

Soon after, the Monkey King looked at a Monkey Head and said seriously, “Go quickly and bring the things over. This King is about to accomplish something earth-shattering!”

Several Monkey Head immediately chattered and ran off, returning shortly with a pile of colorful items.

The Monkey King picked through them, finally choosing a set that fit reasonably well, and put it on directly.

These were, surprisingly, human clothes.

However, at this moment, the Monkey King still looked somewhat out of place.

“Get out of the way!”

It casually kicked a Monkey Head aside and walked to the edge of the pond. After observing for a while from above, it plucked a monkey hair, blew on it, and then shouted, “Transform!”

Instantly, the Monkey King's form changed, its clothes became fitted, and it was strikingly in the appearance of a human.

Its physique was originally similar to that of humans, and it also possessed the supernatural ability of the 72 Transformations, allowing it to transform into various forms. Therefore, this matter was not difficult for it at all.

After admiring its new appearance for a while, the Monkey King nodded in satisfaction and laughed incessantly, “This way, it will be much more convenient to infiltrate Tai Xu Mountain and get things done.”

...“Madam, this area is already under martial law!”

At the foot of Tai Xu Mountain, a soldier stopped an elderly woman who wanted to go up the mountain, patiently persuading her, “Something has happened on the mountain, so you cannot go up to pay respects. The specific reopening time is currently unknown.”

As he spoke, the soldier couldn't help but look up at Tai Xu Mountain.

Before their arrival, special forces members had gone up the mountain to investigate, but without exception, all of them were shaken to death by an unknown force.

Therefore, when news of Tai Xu Mountain was flying everywhere, the soldiers only sealed off the foot of the mountain, not daring to go up to investigate further, while also preventing ordinary people from losing their lives unnecessarily.
