The manager was sweating profusely, but since he had already let the words about being out of stock slip, he had no choice but to try and smooth things over himself.

After scolding them, the manager hurried off to attend to his own business.

A couple dragging luggage approached White Gaze to ask for directions, and an old man selling sugar cakes came walking toward them from the opposite direction.

White Gaze scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. He had only been in the capital for a little over two months, and most of that time had been spent at the estate exercising and training his pet beasts.

Before she could take any further action, the four of them, along with the couple asking for directions and the old man selling sugar cakes, were pulled into a space.

The man who had asked for directions snorted coldly and stowed the luggage he was carrying into his Yu Beast Space.

Their Big Brother didn't speak; he narrowed his eyes, staring intensely at Gu Xiaoyue.

"Are you here to assassinate me?"

Although Bai Rongxuan was a bit flustered, his presence remained strong; he had likely seen many such situations since childhood.

Ding Fang and Zhou Qi exchanged a look and then burst into laughter.

"You're joking, First Young Master. It's not just you—we're rounding you all up at once, aren't we?"

"The three young masters of Prince Yi's household may not have been born on the same day, but dying on the same day would be a beautiful thing, wouldn't it!"

Bai Shengrui was about to curse at them, but Bai Rongxuan stopped him.

"If you are coming directly for us, there's no need to involve innocent people. Let this old man selling sugar cakes go!"

Bai Rongxuan's words seemed to strike a funny bone in the opponents.

Zhou Qi laughed so hard she couldn't straighten her back.

"Hahaha, tell me, First Young Master, are you really that dense, or do you take us for fools? He's no sugar cake seller; he's clearly a shadow guard for one of you!"

Unfortunately, since they had already been dragged in here, they couldn't leave unless the master of the space let them out or they killed him.

White Gaze tugged at the corner of Gu Xiaoyue's clothes; he was worried about her.

But Gu Xiaoyue knew that even though Deng Xian was considered top-tier among the quasi-legendary rank, he couldn't protect White Gaze and the others against the onslaught of the three opponents.

"It's fine. You three stay back and don't get caught in the crossfire!"

"But big sister—"

White Gaze gripped even tighter. No matter what, he didn't want Gu Xiaoyue to put herself in danger, yet he had absolutely no power to fight.

"Enough! You've only just raised a pet beast at the Young life stage; don't be a burden here!"

Seeing that White Gaze was still tugging at Gu Xiaoyue's clothes, Bai Shengrui simply pulled his Hand away and shoved him back a considerable distance.

Gu Xiaoyue walked slowly to Deng Xian's side and brushed back her shoulder-length hair.

"Ms. Gu, you—"

Deng Xian had previously been somewhat critical of Gu Xiaoyue accompanying White Gaze in the capacity of a 'Mr.' (tutor/mentor).

He felt that this young girl looked delicate and weak, incapable of handling such a major responsibility.
