204: Chapter 204 Snow White
"Wei Yunyun, have you already made contact with Jiang Qin?"
"Yes."
"Last time, was it that Great Senior from Dongcheng City who helped you?"
"Yes."
"How do you think we should go about keeping that Great Senior in the Imperial Capital?"
"He should have already left."
"Hmm?"
"Jiang Qin left yesterday."
...
...
Leaving aside the trivial matters of the Imperial Capital, Fang Xun was already prepared to set off.
Under the cover of night, Fang Xun and Lu Li climbed out through the window together.
Judging by the skillful way Lu Li opened the window to head out and then closed it, it was clear that this fellow must have entered through the window as well.
"Your control over Psychokinesis is becoming more and more proficient."
Being carried along by Lu Li, Fang Xun couldn't help but sigh with emotion.
"Of course, I'm much stronger than that little octopus, right?" At this moment, Lu Li didn't forget to show off a bit.
As for flying with someone, Lu Li had actually practiced it specifically.
Naturally, it was for Fang Xun's sake.
"Well, Lian Lian's hands are quite soft," Fang Xun said, speaking up for Lian Lian.
"Tentacles, right?" Lu Li gave a soft snort. Indeed, no hand could be softer than a tentacle.
Fang Xun blinked and didn't say anything more.
Tentacles had many functions, but unfortunately, there was nothing to discuss with Lu Li!
Carrying Fang Xun, Lu Li arrived near Shannan City in no time.
However, the Disaster Beasts that had once surrounded Shannan City had now gone off to work.
There was nothing they could do by surrounding this place, so they might as well go back to work.
Meanwhile, in front of the main road from before, there were still troops stationed.
But now, their primary role was inspection, with exploration being secondary.
"What's that?"
Fang Xun asked, looking at the trucks driving in and out below.
"Transporting troops?"
"No, they're transporting ingredients," Lu Li explained briefly.
"Although Shannan City is dangerous, the nearby plants are surprisingly strange. After investigation, it was found that they are not only highly nutritious but also delicious."
Fang Xun: "?"
When Fang Xun raised this question mark, it wasn't because he thought there was a real problem, but because he felt it was eerie.
This sounded a lot like an initiation rite.
"Should we go and register first?" Fang Xun asked while wondering which mask he should wear.
"No need."
As Lu Li spoke, she had already brought Fang Xun to an edge.
She looked at Fang Xun and said, "To save you the trouble of disguising yourself, Great Senior, we'll just go straight in without looking for anyone."
Saying this, Lu Li withdrew her Supernatural Ability.
Once her ability was retracted, she lightly touched the barrier beside her.
Although there was still a somewhat sticky and sluggish feeling, the barrier no longer blocked her.
Fang Xun tested it and indeed felt a strange pulling force. Initially, he thought about giving it a hard push, but the resulting push and pull nearly caused him to fall right inside.
It was Lu Li who, seeing things weren't right, gave Fang Xun a tug, preventing him from falling flat on his back.
"What's wrong?" Lu Li asked curiously as she held onto Fang Xun.
"It seems this world is quite welcoming—passionate as fire," Fang Xun said, smacking his lips.
This was completely different from when he first came here.
Lu Li: "?"
"Let's go in and take a look."
As Fang Xun spoke, he snapped his fingers while looking at the dense forest before them.
It was just as he thought—his power was still being suppressed.
Yet, a tiny flame still flickered at his fingertip.
Fierce Fire.
"Great Senior is truly mighty and domineering," Lu Li offered a flat compliment while looking at the small flame.
"What? This is already pretty badass, okay?" Fang Xun grumbled.
"True. I can't even manifest a shred of Mental Energy right now," Lu Li nodded silently.
"Let's go. Don't be too jealous of me."
Fang Xun joked and pulled Lu Li along as they walked inside.
Before entering, Fang Xun looked at the large tree beside him.
Since Lu Li said most of these things were edible, could this bark be eaten too?
After a moment's thought, Fang Xun took a bite out of the tree beside him.
Lu Li was startled at first, then watched Fang Xun's actions with wide, bright eyes.
Could it be that Fang Xun had discovered something?
"Is it good?" Lu Li asked curiously.
"It tastes bad." Fang Xun let go of the bark.
"Then why did you eat it?" Lu Li said in shock. "I thought you knew something."
"Didn't you say most of it is edible?" Fang Xun shifted the blame.
"But I didn't say the bark was edible!" Lu Li was exasperated. She had only said the mushrooms were edible.
She hadn't mentioned anything else being edible.
"...Cough, there seems to be some movement ahead. I'll go check it out."
Fang Xun said, walking straight ahead.
"Holy crap, giant mushrooms." After just a few steps, Fang Xun saw those enormous mushrooms.
He had found them disgusting when he saw the photos.
Seeing them in person, he still found them disgusting.
Fang Xun could even see the mycelia trembling and wriggling, repeatedly injecting energy into the mushrooms.
Fang Xun watched with his own eyes as a small mushroom grew from the size of a palm to the size of a basketball in an instant.
"Wait, isn't this a bit of a violation of the law of conservation of energy?" Fang Xun looked at it; no matter how he looked at it, it wasn't normal.
"Great Senior, your golden-hooped rod didn't exactly follow the law of conservation of energy either," Lu Li quipped.
"Is that even the same thing?" Fang Xun immediately retorted stubbornly.
Lu Li didn't bother arguing with Fang Xun and instead said:
"It's not strange. We've studied it before; the energy here is extremely abundant. Staying here for a long time can even heal some hidden ailments and the like."
Hearing Lu Li's words, Fang Xun said, "I see. Then it's not surprising."
"You know about this, Great Senior?"
"Even if that world was depleted, it's still an entire world. Now that it's all compressed into a small place like Shannan City, it would be strange if the energy weren't concentrated."
"We hadn't considered that theory before." Lu Li nodded, fully agreeing with Fang Xun's explanation.
"Oh, I see it. A big tiger."
While they were talking, a massive white tiger appeared before them.
Its purring and growling sounds were so loud they made the ground tremble.
Lu Li quickly assumed a combat stance, pulling a dagger from a holster on her thigh beneath her skirt.
If it weren't for this movement, Fang Xun would never have guessed that Lu Li's high-slit stepmother dress had such a function.
"No need to rush," Fang Xun said, patting Lu Li's shoulder. "It's here to lead the way for us."
She must have known the moment we stepped inside."
"A Great Senior is truly a Great Senior. When we encounter these things, we have to avoid them, but as soon as you arrive, they actually come to lead the way."
Lu Li clicked her tongue.
This creature really was here to guide them.
The tiger slowly approached them and actually crouched down.
Fang Xun didn't stand on ceremony and sat directly on the white tiger's back.
Then, Fang Xun looked at Lu Li and reached out his hand, saying fittingly:
"Come, my Snow White."
