94: The old man's promise!

"A genius, a damn genius!"

The old man stared blankly into the air; his supposedly certain-kill strike hadn't hit Lin Yue at all.

Lin Yue's Wings of Gale vanished; he had deactivated them the moment the four Annihilations were about to strike.

He performed a sudden downward somersault and descended toward the ground in a diagonal line, just escaping the range of the Annihilation attacks.

The black ping-pong balls formed by Annihilation were indeed formidable!

But Lin Yue had seen through them; the attack path of those things was a straight line.

It was difficult to change their angle at will—or rather, there was no way to change their angle or direction.

Once fired, it was a linear attack; though fast, it wasn't completely without room to react.

Relying on this point, and without Purify available, Lin Yue had no choice but to abandon his Wings of Gale and find a way to land.

With that sudden flash of inspiration, he actually pulled off the maneuver.

-500!

As the dust settled, Lin Yue nearly landed on his head, but fortunately, he managed to stand steadily on the ground.

This series of extreme maneuvers—if it weren't for his lightning-fast neural reaction speed, he might not have been able to complete them.

"Young Man, I am truly impressed."

The old man's main body began to clap; with a wave of his hand, his Clone vanished.

"Impressed already? I haven't had enough yet!"

Exhaling a thick breath of turbid air, Lin Yue shouted with a look of dissatisfaction.

Despite the many moves he had just exchanged with the old man, it hadn't even been a minute.

"Young Man, you still want to fight?"

The old man was slightly surprised. Lin Yue's talent satisfied him, but he hadn't expected the Young Man's combat will to be so strong.

"Nonsense, you were having a grand time beating me just now, and I haven't even dealt a single point of damage yet."

The only thing Lin Yue was unhappy about was that, so far, he hadn't managed to injure the old man's main body in the slightest.

It was basically just him being on the receiving end, which wasn't satisfying at all.

Another thing was that this old man was so durable, making him perfect for stacking health.

He didn't want to let such a good opportunity pass—training his operational skills while stacking health at the same time.

"Fair enough, otherwise you'd surely feel it's unfair."

The old man produced a walking stick out of nowhere and continued while leaning on it,

"If you can Breakthrough my defense, I'll reward you with an additional special item as a prize for letting me enjoy the battle. What do you think?"

"Suits me perfectly."

Hearing that the old man was giving out a reward, Lin Yue naturally wouldn't refuse.

Just as he was about to pick up his thunder punishment to attack, the old man wagged a finger. "Don't be in such a hurry, I'm not finished. There's a ten-minute time limit. If you haven't broken through my defense after ten minutes, you fail. Forget the reward, and you'll have to find the Phoenix yourself."

"Fifteen minutes."

Ten minutes was a bit of a loss. One minute gave five or six thousand health; ten minutes was only fifty or sixty thousand.

Lin Yue tried to haggle; every extra minute meant thousands more health, which was better than nothing.

The old man looked at Lin Yue quietly. Perhaps because he really had enjoyed the fight earlier, he thought about it and agreed.

"Fifteen minutes then, but the rules remain the same."

After saying that, the old man took up his stance again. This time, his gaze was incredibly serious; there was no way he would go easy on Lin Yue.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The old man had barely finished speaking when Lin Yue impatiently made his move.

Regardless of whether he could injure the old man, he'd give him a beating first.

A flurry of fireballs constantly adjusted their positions, attacking the old man from every angle. The old man stood firm, his palms tracing the patterns of Tai Chi in the air.

Countless fireballs fell frantically like a volley of arrows, yet they failed to create even a single ripple.

Explosive Flames split and wrapped around continuously, covering the old man's entire body.

The violent temperature kept rising, actually causing air distortions similar to the Annihilation spheres.

Unsurprisingly, the old man still intercepted them with his hands. No matter how many Spells Lin Yue launched, he could easily catch them and turn them into nothingness.

A minute passed quickly, and Lin Yue's attacks hadn't been effective.

Three minutes passed. Aside from the constant notifications about his health, the old man hadn't moved a single step so far.

He even tanked the impact of the fireballs head-on; his feet were like the roots of an ancient tree, standing firm and unmoving.

This level of strength was clearly a notch higher than when he first fought Lin Yue.

"Young Man, give up. It's impossible for you to break my defense."

The old man was expressionless. Not only did he catch all of Lin Yue's Spell attacks with ease, but he also had the leisure to talk to him.

Lin Yue didn't speak. Instead, his eyes were fixed on the old man's movements, and the staff in his hand never stopped casting.

He knew all too well how powerful the old man was—he wasn't an opponent he could match.

But Lin Yue wasn't completely without options; he was observing the flaws in the old man's moves.

No matter how powerful a person is, they will have flaws. If there are no flaws, it's just that you can't see them because you aren't strong enough.

Fourteen minutes flashed by.

After fourteen minutes, Lin Yue's health had stacked by 80,000 points, and his spell power had increased by 4,000.

However, it was useless. No matter how high Lin Yue's damage was, he still couldn't break the old man's defense.

This old man was definitely using Spatial Power.

Watching his Spells being dissolved one by one by the old man's palms, Lin Yue had long since analyzed that the old man's use of Spatial Power was extremely refined.

With a wave of his hand, his attack method began to change.

The old man's movements also slowed as he squinted his eyes at Lin Yue.

Fireballs condensed around Lin Yue one by one, remaining still. In just a few seconds, dozens of fireballs surrounded him.

"Impressive control, Young Man. Your idea is a good one."

The old man saw through Lin Yue's plan at a glance: he wanted to use quantity to achieve a decisive strike.

Just as the old man said, that was exactly what Lin Yue was thinking. Rather than firing them one by one, which would never break the defense, it was better to accumulate a wave and seek an opportunity through sheer numbers.

The old man didn't interrupt Lin Yue; instead, he stood confidently in place. He didn't believe this would be enough to break his defense.

Soon, as the fireballs reached a count of one hundred, there was a faint risk of losing control.

This was the limit of the Spells Lin Yue could control simultaneously.

One hundred fireballs.

With a wave of his hand, fifty Spells quickly flew toward the old man, while one hundred and fifty Explosive Flames split off and began to envelop him.

Rumble!

Two hundred Spells crashed down like a grand fireworks display, enveloping the old man from every possible angle.

Could such an attack be effective?

Of course not.

In the next instant, the remaining fifty fireballs fell once more, with one of them flying up into the air.

When the massive roar ended and the dust settled...

The old man stood in place, completely unharmed.

"I told you, this is useless..."

The old man had just opened his mouth and hadn't even finished his sentence.

Immediately after, a fireball abruptly appeared at the back of the old man's head!

Boom!
