60: Chapter 60: Why must one fly using a sword?

Upon learning that Su Yi and Gu Wanquan were about to head to the Inner Sect, the other Prodigies in the courtyard felt a mix of disappointment and anxiety.

They would still offer congratulations, even though Su Yi was always able to keep Gu Wanquan in check.

Yet, faced with Gu Wanquan's suffocating talent, no one could bring themselves to think of being friends with him.

Su Yi was different. Even though he had beaten the terrifyingly talented Gu Wanquan, everyone felt as if they were old friends who had known Su Yi for a long time.

Being with Su Yi not only brought no pressure, but was actually more relaxed and comfortable than usual.

Perhaps it was because of his "mother hen" nature—since they had eaten his food, they were all on very good terms with Su Yi.

"Hmph! In less than half a month, I will reach Foundation Establishment!" Yin Chaoge said, unconvinced.

"Sure, sure, you're awesome!" Su Yi replied listlessly, brushing him off.

Shi Buran remained calm; he was not surprised that Su Yi and Gu Wanquan were entering the Inner Sect.

Looking at Su Yi, who was dressed in white clothes and black trousers, Wen Daoyi opened her mouth, but she also didn't say anything.

"Su Yi, I will soon go to the Inner Sect as well. Wait for me; I will definitely surpass you!"

"Brother Su, please don't go! What will I do if you leave?!" Only Xiao Tian was reluctant to part, grabbing Su Yi and wailing loudly.

Su Yi even felt a sense of affection looking at the burly Xiao Tian: "Good lad, when I become a lackey for the Empress in the future, I'll take you with me!"

Xiao Tian's genuine emotions moved Su Yi greatly, but Xiao Tian's next sentence immediately extinguished that emotion.

"If you leave, who will cook for me?!" Xiao Tian opened his big mouth and cried very sadly, but it was likely for the sake of his own stomach.

Looking at the Prodigies with their various expressions before him, Su Yi couldn't help but feel a surge of grand ambition.

Now, I, Su Yi, can at least say I've outperformed every Prodigy except for Gu Wanquan!

Never mind whether the other party had reached their potential yet—you just have to admit I outperformed them, right?

Waving goodbye with grand airs to the Prodigies who were no longer in his league, Su Yi and Gu Wanquan left the small courtyard with Senior Brother Chen Feng.

Senior Brother Chen Feng led the two of them flying on their swords until they arrived before the stone gate that connected the Outer Sect to the Inner Sect.

Compared to the towering stone gates, the one before them seemed rather ordinary.

Three stone pillars were stacked together to form a gate, the only difference being two large stone lions crouching on either side!

When the three of them landed and Senior Brother Chen Feng put away his sword to lead them to the stone gate, the stone lions, which had been standing quietly on both sides, rolled their eyes and bared their fangs as if they had come to life!

"Password!" The two stone lions spoke simultaneously with authority.

Senior Brother Chen Feng immediately answered in a loud voice: "Clarifying Heart!"

As Senior Brother Chen Feng's voice fell, the two stone lions returned to their original state, as if everything just now had been a hallucination of Su Yi's.

"Once you pass through this gate, you are in the true place of cultivation for the Luoxia Immortal Sect. That is why these two Stone Spirits were arranged to guard it. Do not underestimate them; although they are only Stone Spirits, their strength is greater than that of a Peak Foundation Establishment cultivator!" Senior Brother Chen Feng turned his head and said to Su Yi and the other.

As Su Yi followed Senior Brother Chen Feng and stepped through the stone gate, the scenery before his eyes changed abruptly.

The original mountain path had turned into a huge stone platform, and the platform was built on the edge of a cliff!

In the distance, mountain Peaks stood scattered, Immortal clouds drifted around the mountains, and flying cranes soared among them!

With every breath, the Spiritual Qi was abundant; the whole person felt as if they were wrapped in Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi.

The tingling sensation of Spiritual Qi washing over his body never ceased, making one feel exceptionally comfortable.

If the Outer Sect was filled with Spiritual Qi, the Inner Sect was simply surging and gathering with it!

Standing on the stone platform and looking out, countless mountain Peaks were scattered around a huge mountain, as if stars were arching over the moon.

"This is the true Luoxia Immortal Sect, one of the thirty-six Grotto-Heavens of the world—the Luoxia Grotto-Heaven. It is named for the fact that when the sun sets on the main Peak, the main Peak is illuminated by ten thousand rays of rosy light!" Senior Brother Chen Feng looked at the largest main Peak in the distance and said with some pride.

Such beautiful scenery, even for Su Yi, who had seen countless Immortal scenes in "immortal path", couldn't help but be deeply shocked.

Only when standing here in person did one understand the grand ambition behind the phrase: "In the fifty states of the Southwest, Immortals emerge from Luoxia!"

Even Gu Wanquan, who was standing to the side, was attracted by the scenery before him, and as he looked around, he couldn't help but praise it.

Senior Brother Chen Feng empathized with their shock; he remembered that when he first entered the Inner Sect and saw such an Immortal scene, he couldn't help but kowtow three times!

Thinking of his own embarrassing moment, Senior Brother Chen Feng coughed, looked at the two, and said: "Now that both Junior Brothers have reached Foundation Establishment and entered the Inner Sect, I will first teach you the method of Sword Riding. It will be convenient for you to cultivate in the Inner Sect in the future!"

Upon hearing this, Su Yi and Gu Wanquan looked at Senior Brother Chen Feng. Su Yi didn't feel much—it was a skill he had already mastered in his previous life—but the usually gentle Gu Wanquan was quite excited.

After all, flying on a sword was the dream of every young cultivator!

Senior Brother Chen Feng sat cross-legged on the ground and taught the two the method of Sword Riding.

"Ding, detected someone teaching the Foundation Establishment Stage white-grade skill 'Flying Technique'. Do you wish to spend 2000 experience points to learn it?"

The System prompt sounded in Su Yi's mind, and he couldn't help but curl the corners of his mouth upward.

Who in their right mind would seriously study when they have nothing to do? Isn't it brain-dead to not use a cheat?

As a travel technique, this 'Flying Technique' did not occupy a skill slot in "immortal path".

"Learn!" Su Yi consumed four Low-Grade Spirit Stones and clicked learn as a matter of course.

When Senior Brother Chen Feng finished teaching the essentials of the Flying Technique and asked the two to experiment on their own.

"Although it is a minor technique, it must still be practiced diligently. Within three days..." Before Senior Brother Chen Feng could finish his exhortation.

Gu Wanquan had already stood up. With a wave of his hand, the sword hanging at his waist fell beside him, hovering three feet off the ground. He stepped onto the sword and was already able to hover three feet off the ground and fly slowly.

This scene made Senior Brother Chen Feng swallow the words, "Within three days, you will achieve minor success and be able to fly slowly."

He had forgotten that this sword-cultivation monster before him had a Sword Spirit Root and was the "good child" highly praised by the Sect Leader when he first entered the Outer Sect!

And when Su Yi took a chair out of his Storage Pouch, sat directly on the chair, and shot straight into the clouds, circling the stone platform three times.

For a cheater like Su Yi, Senior Brother Chen Feng was already too shocked to speak!

If it could be said that Gu Wanquan relied on his Sword Spirit Root to quickly master the Sword Riding technique, then Su Yi before him was completely unreasonable, right?

It was supposed to be Sword Riding—what was the deal with you riding a chair?

And Su Yi, sitting on the chair, looked at Gu Wanquan, who was stepping on his long sword and slowly picking up speed, with a lack of understanding.

He had never understood why these people insisted on riding swords.

Essentially, it was just a flying technique where true essence adhered to an object, allowing the object to carry oneself into the air.

Logically speaking, you could ride anything—even a tractor would work.

Then why not find a comfortable object to sit on, instead of insisting on standing on a thin sword?

Compared to standing on a thin sword and wobbling back and forth, isn't it more comfortable to sit on a chair?

Isn't it just for show, making oneself suffer?
