41: Chapter 41: A surprise attack at dawn, the safe house exposed.

3:00 AM.

Jianghai City had fallen into the deepest sleep of the day. Even the streetlights seemed to have dimmed to save electricity.

Binjiang No. 1 Courtyard, Room 1602.

"Beep—"

An extremely faint electronic sound, yet sharp enough to pierce the eardrums, suddenly rang out in the living room.

Alice opened her eyes abruptly.

There was not a trace of sleepiness in those azure eyes, only vigilance like cold ice. She leaped up from the sofa, moving as lightly as a black cat, her fingertips sliding rapidly across the tactical tablet.

On the screen, the green dot representing the safe house's defense system was flashing red frantically.

Immediately following, a dense series of thermal imaging signals were rapidly approaching this floor along the stairs and elevator shafts, like a swarm of ants.

"Damn it."

Alice cursed under her breath, grabbed the Glock model gun from the table, and rushed toward the bedroom.

"Boss! Wake up!"

She didn't knock, instead kicking open Qin Feng's bedroom door directly.

Meanwhile.

Qin Feng was immersed in a sweet dream. In the dream, he was lying in a seven-star hotel in Dubai, holding an iced cola in his left hand and a roasted lamb leg in his right, with a small mountain of RMB piled up in front of him.

Suddenly.

The system in his mind that had been playing dead exploded without warning.

[Ding! Warning! Warning!]

[Large number of hostile units detected approaching!]

[Thirty seconds until they reach the host! Twenty-nine seconds...]

[It is suggested that the host get up and run immediately! Otherwise, tonight's dream will turn into "Tears Behind Bars," and for the next ten years, you will only be able to enjoy free sewing machine training courses!]

"What the f*ck!"

Qin Feng sprang up from the bed, his heart nearly jumping out of his throat.

The sweet dream was shattered.

In its place was Alice's extremely cold and beautiful face, along with the muffled and hurried footsteps vaguely coming from the corridor.

That was the sound of tactical boots stepping on the carpet.

Extremely orderly, extremely oppressive.

This was a regular army!

"How did they find us?" Qin Feng asked while quickly pulling on his pants and grabbing his signature gray trench coat.

"I don't know. It might be the traces we left at the supermarket, or that damn Xie Qingshang might have used some black technology." Alice spoke at a rapid pace, "Anyway, we only have twenty seconds left."

"Where is Su Tang? Where is that fat guy?"

"Su Tang is awake, Pei Ji is still sleeping."

Qin Feng gritted his teeth and rushed out of the room.

In the living room, Su Tang was already dressed, a black bodysuit outlining her perfect curves. She was still holding an unfinished lollipop, with a flush of excitement on her face.

"Brother, are we going to fight?" Su Tang licked her lips, her eyes like a child seeing fireworks she had been looking forward to for a long time.

"Fight my ass! That's a SWAT Team! Hundreds of guns!"

Qin Feng cursed irritably and turned to rush toward the guest room where Pei Ji was sleeping.

This guy was sleeping like a dead pig, snoring loudly enough to shake the sky, with drool all over his pillow.

Qin Feng didn't say a word, raised his foot, and kicked Pei Ji right in his chubby butt.

"Bang!"

"Ouch—!!!"

Pei Ji screamed in agony, rolled directly under the bed, and clutched his butt with a confused look: "Who? Who attacked me? Is there an earthquake?"

"Earthquake your ass! The police are here!"

Qin Feng grabbed Pei Ji by the back of his collar and hauled him up like a chick, "If you want to live, run!"

Just then.

"Boom—!!!"

A loud noise.

The security door was smashed open with a battering ram; the entire door panel flew in and slammed heavily onto the coffee table in the living room, shattering glass everywhere.

Immediately after, several flashbangs flashing with red light rolled in.

"Close your eyes! Open your mouth!" Alice shouted.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

A blinding flash erupted, and the deafening noise was ear-splitting.

If it were an ordinary person, they would probably be paralyzed on the floor foaming at the mouth by now.

But Qin Feng had the system's support, Alice was a top-tier agent, and Su Tang was a lunatic.

Only Pei Ji, although his eyes were covered by Qin Feng, was so scared his legs had turned to noodles.

"Don't move! Hands up!"

"Team One, move in! Team Two, provide cover!"

Dozens of fully armed SWAT officers flooded in like a black tide, their infrared laser sights weaving a net through the smoke.

However.

What greeted them was only an empty living room and the broken door panel still slightly swaying.

The SWAT Captain rushed into the bedroom and reached out to touch the bed.

It was warm.

One could even smell a faint, cheap scent of men's body wash.

"Damn it! They just left!" The captain roared into his headset, "Block the exits! They ran out the window!"

The window was wide open.

The night wind poured in, and the curtains danced wildly.

At this moment.

Outside the building.

Qin Feng was holding onto the bracket of an external air conditioning unit with one hand, hanging in the high altitude of the sixteenth floor.

The cold wind scraped against his face like a knife.

His left hand was gripping Pei Ji's belt tightly. This 180-jin fat man was closing his eyes, hugging Qin Feng's thigh for dear life, muttering, "Namo Amitabha... God bless... Jade Emperor, heed my command..."

Su Tang and Alice were like two agile geckos, clinging to the drainpipe next to them.

"Go down! Hurry!"

Qin Feng gave a low shout, his arm muscles bulging as if they were twisted from steel bars.

He let go and fell.

In the second before gravity was about to pancake him, he accurately grabbed the security window railing of the floor below.

"Creeak—"

The sound of metal friction set one's teeth on edge.

Just like that, floor after floor.

This way of escaping, which was extremely taxing on the arms and could lead to being smashed to pieces if one was slightly careless, was turned into extreme parkour by them.

Pei Ji was so scared he had no voice left; his soul was probably still floating on the sixteenth floor.

Finally.

"Thud!"

The four of them landed.

This was a narrow back alley, piled with trash cans and debris.

"Run!"

Qin Feng didn't even have time to catch his breath; he threw Pei Ji onto the ground, hauled him up, and ran.

Above them.

"Buzz—Buzz—"

That desperate buzzing sound rang out again.

Several police drones with flashing red lights circled and descended like a flock of vultures that had smelled blood.

The beams of the searchlights swung wildly in the alley.

"Over there! Chase them!"

Dense footsteps came from both ends of the alley.

Blocked in the front, pursued from the back.

"Brother Feng... I can't do it anymore..."

Pei Ji had run two hundred meters, and his lungs felt like they were about to explode. He plopped down on the ground, his face pale, gasping for air like a fish out of water.

"You guys go... taking me along is just a burden..."

Pei Ji showed a rare bit of loyalty at this moment, although it was highly likely triggered by fear, "I'll hold them off for you... I can't run anymore anyway... At most, I'll be considered an accomplice; I won't get sentenced to many years..."

Qin Feng stopped.

He looked back at Pei Ji, who had a look of martyrdom (but was actually just unable to run).

The drone's light hit Qin Feng's face, illuminating the helpless yet amused curve of his lips.

"Screw your lungs."

Qin Feng walked back, without any nonsense, and reached out to grab Pei Ji by the back of his collar.

[System Skill: Super Strength Pill (Low-end version) activated.]

A strange strength surged through his entire body instantly.

Qin Feng exerted force with one hand, lifting the 180-jin fat man like a sack.

"You are the driver."

Qin Feng's voice was exceptionally clear amidst the noisy police sirens, carrying an unquestionable dominance.

"If you leave, who will drive?"

"Besides, I, Qin Feng, haven't fallen to the point of selling out my teammates to survive."

Pei Ji was stunned.

He looked at Qin Feng's profile, his eyes suddenly feeling a bit hot.

"Brother..."

"Shut up! Save your energy for the gas pedal!"

Qin Feng, carrying Pei Ji, turned and roared at Alice and Su Tang, "Create a roadblock!"

Su Tang had been waiting impatiently.

She passed a pile of discarded construction materials and kicked out.

"Crash—"

Piles of steel pipes and wooden boards collapsed with a roar, instantly sealing off half of the alley entrance.

Alice calmly took out several small balls resembling marbles from her pocket and scattered them on the ground.

The SWAT officers who chased up stepped on these special lubricating beads and immediately tumbled over, falling into a heap.

"Ouch!"

"Careful! The ground is slippery!"

Taking advantage of this brief chaos.

The four of them rushed out of the alley.

In the shadows at the corner of the street, several black steel beasts were parked.

That was the "welcome gift" sent by Chen Haonan.

A modified Ford F-650 Super Duty.

The entire body was covered in a matte black explosion-proof coating, the bulletproof glass was five centimeters thick, the four wheels were taller than a person, and a ferocious battering ram was welded onto the front bumper.

This was a tank without a turret!

"Get in!"

Qin Feng pulled open the car door and shoved Pei Ji into the driver's seat.

"This car... holy crap..."

Pei Ji looked at the dashboard, which looked like an airplane cockpit, his hands shaking, "This is too f*cking cool, right?!"

"Don't talk! Start the engine!"

Qin Feng jumped into the passenger seat.

"Boom—!!!"

The V10 engine let out a roar like a dragon waking up.

The sound wave caused the alarm of a nearby private car to blare wildly.
