36: Dominating the top two spots on the leaderboard

"spirit seed!"

Wang Chiyao covered her small mouth and exclaimed.

At this moment, Lin Xingyu also saw the information about the spirit seed.

"[spirit seed]"

"[Quality: E]"

"[Note: After hatching, an E-Rank soul seed 'Shadow Wolf' can be obtained.]"

Another soul seed...

Others could distinguish the Rank of the spirit seed by its appearance, but they couldn't see the detailed information like Lin Xingyu.

"Wow, a spirit seed! We're rich!"

Wang Ledian shouted excitedly.

"Haha, exactly, our luck is indeed Heaven-Defying!"

Wang Chiyao was also very happy.

It's important to know that the drop rate for spirit seeds is very low.

The Spiritual Energy Research Institute conducted a survey, and the drop rate for spirit crystals is 3.3%, while for spirit seeds, it's 0.3%.

In other words, killing 30 Mutated Ones might drop one spirit crystal.

Killing 300 Mutated Ones might drop one spirit seed.

Of course, this isn't absolute.

Powerful individuals among the Mutated Ones, such as mutated forms or leaders of beast packs, are more likely to drop items.

The Spiritual Energy Research Institute has conducted specialized research on the Rank of spirit seeds dropped by Mutated Ones.

The research results show that the spirit seed's Rank is related to the Mutated One's strength and Bloodline.

Theoretically, the stronger the Mutated One and the more Advanced its Bloodline, the higher the chance of dropping an Advanced spirit seed.

As for the specific data, no one knows, after all, probability itself is quite metaphysical.

For example, the Crystal Armored Rat King that Lin Xingyu killed last time dropped a D-Rank spirit seed.

This time, the Shadow Wolf dropped an E-Rank spirit seed.

An E-Rank spirit seed is not bad; it can sell for at least 100 units of spirit crystals on the market.

Lin Xingyu currently had thousands of units of spirit crystals, so seeing an E-Rank spirit seed didn't make him as excited as Wang Ledian and the others.

These were minor matters to him.

"Old Dian, you go collect it. This should be worth 200 points!"

Acquiring treasures grants points. Lin Xingyu was already in first place, so this didn't affect him much.

Currently, Wang Chiyao was in 3rd place, and Li Hongyang was in 9th, both eligible for rewards.

Only Wang Ledian was in 11th place, the lowest Rank. It would be better to give this to him to boost his Rank.

Their three talents were not low.

Wang Chiyao had an a-rank spirit seed, while Wang Ledian and Li Hongyang had B-Rank.

From what he understood, among the students participating in the Trial Secret Realm, no more than 30 had spirit seeds of B-Rank or higher.

Wang Ledian and Wang Chiyao had previously discovered Moonflower Fruit and gained many points.

Li Hongyang, who had followed Lin Xingyu earlier, also accumulated some points.

Therefore, their Ranks were not low.

Lin Xingyu planned to help them improve their Ranks further to obtain better rewards.

It would be best if they could secure the top three spots and claim all the additional rewards.

"No, no, no, I can't take it. You should take it!"

Hearing that Lin Xingyu wanted him to take it, Wang Ledian quickly shook his head.

"You go collect it. My Rank is far ahead, no one will surpass me!"

Lin Xingyu was a little helpless.

Wang Ledian was usually quite thick-skinned, so why was he being modest now?

"Hurry up, no more talking. We still need to continue killing monsters!"

Wang Chiyao kicked Wang Ledian, a look of disdain on her face.

Wang Ledian stopped pretending and happily put away the spirit seed.

He checked the trial stone and, sure enough, it had increased by 200 points.

He now had a total of 435 points, moving into second place.

Seeing his Rank, Wang Ledian's mouth stretched almost to the back of his head.

Occasionally, pig-like squeals could be heard.

After collecting the spirit seed, everyone continued forward.

Lin Xingyu found an opportunity to "go to the restroom," placed the Shadow Wolf's corpse into his Inner World, and handed it over to the World Tree for consumption... At the same time.

In a valley within the Trial Secret Realm.

Wang Hu stood on the corpse of a Blazewind Wolf, his expression grim.

"What the hell is going on?"

Ever since the Trial Secret Realm began, this guy named Lin Xingyu had been suppressing him.

He tried hard to catch up, but it was useless.

The gap between them grew wider and wider; he only had 415 points now.

That bastard Lin Xingyu had actually reached 1521 points.

Just now, his Rank had actually dropped to third.

Wang Hu was the only person in Sunset City to Awaken an S-rank Spirit Seed and also possessed the Blazewind Tiger Bloodline.

Yes, he was a Bloodline owner.

Wang Hu came from a prominent background; his parents were Advanced Mutated Ones of the Barren Alliance, and his father was even a Marquis-level Expert.

Advanced Mutated Ones would Awaken Bloodline Power within their bodies.

As their descendant, Wang Hu was fortunate enough to inherit his father's Bloodline.

The blood soul stone among the Trial Secret Realm rewards was very important to him.

The blood soul stone contained powerful Qi and Blood Power, which could help him enhance his Bloodline.

The three additional prizes in this Trial Secret Realm would be chosen according to the Rank order.

In other words, the first place would choose first. If Lin Xingyu took the blood soul stone, there would be nothing left for Wang Hu.

Therefore, his obsession with the first place was very deep, as it involved something crucial for improving his strength, and he could not afford to lose it.

"It seems I can only eliminate Lin Xingyu!"

Wang Hu thought it over and over, and this was the only solution.

This would not only resolve the threat of Lin Xingyu but also gain half of his points.

If so, his points would far exceed the second place.

As someone who possessed both a spirit seed and a Bloodline, Wang Hu was very confident in his strength.

Additionally, before the Trial Secret Realm, his family had given him many good items, raising his strength to Tier 1 Six-Star.

He didn't believe anyone could be stronger than him.

"Lin Xingyu is just a lucky guy who stumbled upon some treasures!"

"In the face of absolute strength..."

...Meanwhile, on the other side.

Xia Fei's points were also rapidly increasing.

His spirit seed was the ten thousand souls banner, which was weak in the Early Stage but very strong in the Late Stage.

Each time he killed a Mutated One, the ten thousand souls banner would absorb the Mutated One's soul into it.

Inside the ten thousand souls banner, he would cultivate these souls into specters, which could then be used in future battles.

This was like a snowball, getting bigger and bigger.

Since entering the Secret Realm, he had ignored everything else, focusing solely on killing monsters.

Just now, he finally cultivated his hundredth specter.

Looking at his army of specters, Xia Fei couldn't help but feel a little smug.

Although the specters' strength was not as good as their original bodies, they could compensate for quality with quantity.

Only then did he have time to check the Rank information.

As soon as he immersed his consciousness into the trial stone, he noticed the name at the top of the leaderboard.

"Lin Xingyu..."

"Could it be visual fatigue from killing monsters for too long?"

Xia Fei rubbed his face, trying to clear his head.

When he checked again, Lin Xingyu's name had not disappeared; it remained firmly in the first position.

And it was a landslide lead.

Just then, Xia Fei also found his own Rank.

"Fifth place..."

Was this a joke?

As the protagonist, it was already ridiculous for him not to be in first place.

But what was even more ridiculous was Lin Xingyu; wasn't he the weakest, with a potted plant spirit seed?

Could he really take first place with such a trash spirit seed?

Could it be that this guy had Heaven-Defying luck and obtained a large number of treasures at the start?

"Should I go and rob him?"
