240: Chapter 240 Poetry and Music Recited Throughout the Study

On the desk, the scattered sheets of rice paper still bore wet ink.

After their arduous labor, the study finally grew quiet.

Ouyang Wanqing lay sprawled across the red sandalwood table, utterly exhausted, gasping for breath.

Her dark hair, usually meticulously groomed, was now spread messily over her smooth, jade-like back. A few damp strands clung to her flushed neck, making her look exceptionally alluring.

"Wuu... You're just a brute... bullying me..."

She bit her red lips, crystalline tears still hanging from the corners of her eyes, as she muttered weakly.

Chen Shanzhi, thick-skinned as ever, wrapped his arms around her soft, jade-like body from behind.

His broad, thick hands stroked her slender waist with practiced ease, savoring the astonishing suppleness and smoothness of her skin.

"My good wife, how can you call this bullying?"

Chen Shanzhi grinned and pressed his face against her burning earlobe, his warm breath tickling the inside:

"Your husband is simply helping you review the old to learn the new. Can you really call what a scholar does bullying?"

"Pah, I've never seen a scholar as shameless as you."

Ouyang Wanqing blushed and spat lightly.

Although she scolded him, her body was limp; she was too lazy to even move a finger, leaving herself at the mercy of this scoundrel.

After about the time it takes to burn an incense stick, their Qi circulated slowly within their bodies, sweeping away their previous exhaustion.

Chen Shanzhi was not one to sit still.

His eyes darted around, landing on the tall rosewood bookshelf not far away.

It was filled with rare books from previous dynasties and accounts of strange events collected by the Prime Minister's Mansion.

"Wife, I see that the top shelf of the bookcase seems to hold quite a bit of good knowledge."

Chen Shanzhi smirked, swept his arms out, and effortlessly scooped up her plump, well-proportioned body.

"Ah! What are you doing... put me down!"

Ouyang Wanqing exclaimed, her jade-like arms instinctively hooking around his neck.

"Not a chance."

Chen Shanzhi took two strides and reached the bookshelf.

The bookshelf was extremely tall, its top level almost brushing the ceiling.

Chen Shanzhi held her slender waist with one hand and lifted her entire body upward.

Ouyang Wanqing's body was forced against the cold rosewood bookshelf.

The contrast between the cold and the heat made her whole body shiver.

Her long, straight legs dangled helplessly in the air.

Eventually, she had to wrap them around Chen Shanzhi's waist.

"You... you wicked scoundrel, finding a new place to torment me, you're really going to be the death of me..."

Ouyang Wanqing was mortified, her misty, beautiful eyes shooting him a fierce glare.

"Don't panic, my wife. This is called 'ascending high to gaze into the distance.' To appreciate poetry, one naturally needs a different Concept."

Chen Shanzhi chuckled.

He casually pulled a yellowed ancient book from the shelf beside him.

On the cover, written in an elegant, sweeping calligraphy, were the words 'Great Jiang Martial Dao Detailed Explanation.'

"Wife, take a look at this passage: 'The difficulty of the Martial Dao is harder than ascending to the blue sky.'"

As he read, Chen Shanzhi explained the underlying meaning to Ouyang Wanqing.

"Mmm...! You... with your Martial Dao cultivation, is this just ascending to the blue sky? The 'Sword Opening the Heavenly Gate' you use clearly looks like you're trying to poke a hole in the heavens themselves..."

Ouyang Wanqing arched her swan-like, elegant neck, her ten fingers gripping the wooden shelf tightly, her nails turning slightly white from the force.

The Dudou she had been using to cover herself was long gone, revealing large expanses of dazzling, snow-white skin.

"Wife, you are mistaken. Although the path of the Martial Dao is difficult, as long as you find the right direction and progress from the shallow to the deep, you will eventually see the light at the end of the tunnel."

As a Body Refining Martial Artist, Chen Shanzhi's understanding of this was naturally different from Ouyang Wanqing's.

His understanding of the Martial Dao was all about grand, expansive strikes; if he could fight head-on, he would never waste words.

His Qi, having opened the ten apertures, surged within him, causing the tall rosewood bookshelf to groan in agony with a "creak, creak" sound.

The dozen or so ancient books on the shelf couldn't withstand such violent vibrations and fell to the floor with a "clatter, clatter" sound.

"Ah... the books... the books are falling..."

Ouyang Wanqing looked down at the rare books on the floor, feeling heartbroken, but how could she have the mind to pick them up now?

The waves of numbness rushing straight to her crown submerged her reason like a tide.

She could only passively endure it, her voice broken and incoherent:

"Don't... speak slower... Husband, your understanding is a bit too profound; I can't... wrap my head around it for a moment."

"I cannot slow down; in studying and learning, what matters is one continuous effort!"

Chen Shanzhi grinned, his eyes filled with a barbaric possessiveness.

I don't know how much time passed before their battlefield shifted from the bookshelf to the armchair by the window.

The lighting here was excellent.

The afternoon sunlight filtered through the carved wooden windows, illuminating Ouyang Wanqing's jade-like skin until it was nearly translucent, clearly revealing the pink flush that had risen due to her extreme passion.

Chen Shanzhi turned her around, making her press her hands against the window frame.

From his angle, it was a scene of great visual impact.

From her slender waist, which could barely be grasped, it suddenly blossomed into a breathtaking, rounded curve.

Because of the punishment earlier on the desk, a few faint, five-fingered red marks remained on her pert, rounded buttocks.

They stood out starkly against her snow-white skin, adding a sense of cruel beauty that made one's blood boil.

"Wife, let's take a look at this poem, 'Spring River Day and Night.' It speaks of the waters of the Spring River being uneven, and the tides of the bright moon 'born in death and entering life.' How should we interpret this?"

Chen Shanzhi pressed against her from behind, his large palm precisely covering that rounded curve.

"Mmm... you hooligan... all you know is how to use metaphors to mock me..."

Ouyang Wanqing bit her red lip, her body trembling gently with the breeze blowing in from outside the window.

"How can this be being a hooligan? Your husband is demonstrating to you, with his own body, what it means to be 'born in death and enter life.'"

Chen Shanzhi let out a low growl, directly demonstrating to Ouyang Wanqing his understanding of that phrase.

"Pa, pa, pa." As a Body Refining Martial Artist, his movements caused sounds like popping beans to erupt from within his body.

"Ah—!"

Ouyang Wanqing exclaimed, lunging forward, her full chest slamming firmly against the window frame.

Her long, beautiful legs trembled violently, and she nearly lost her footing.

Outside the window, the wind blew through the bamboo forest, rustling softly.

Inside the room, there were soft, delicate gasps and sweat dripping everywhere.

The two of them left countless absurd and ridiculous traces in every corner of the study.

Wherever there were rare books, there were the shadows of the two of them "discussing knowledge."

This intense sparring session lasted for a full hour.

Just as Chen Shanzhi was holding Ouyang Wanqing's slender waist, preparing to launch the final, all-out assault to completely conquer the city and seize the land.

Suddenly, both of their figures froze at the same time.

As Martial Artists in the Profound Gate Realm, both of their Divine Sense and hearing were far superior to ordinary people.

Almost at the same time, they both heard a faint but hurried sound of footsteps on the fallen leaves in the courtyard outside the study.

"Someone is coming."
