107: Infiltrate enemy territory and take a huge gamble!

During a break in their recovery, Wen Qingzhu summoned over a dozen of the strongest Cultivators to gather around a flat rock.

A glimmer of light condensed at his fingertip as he traced a simple outline of the region on the stone surface, saying in a low voice, "According to the map, we are still forty to fifty thousand miles away from the Yangquan Sect war zone. Based on the density of Demon Species in our current area, the situation in their jurisdiction should be similar... Most Cultivators from various countries are likely still busy purging their local Demon Species. It will take at least three months before they truly make contact and start the war with each other."

Speaking to this point, his tone shifted, and a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. "Perhaps we can take advantage of this window of time to stir some things up."

"Brother Qingzhu means... to bypass the Demon Species populations along the way and infiltrate directly into the enemy's heartland?"

Qi Fei, a Peak Cultivator specializing in the wind element, reacted immediately, his eyes filled with a mix of testing and anticipation.

"Exactly!"

Wen Qingzhu looked around and nodded heavily, then turned to a female Cultivator in a black dress among the crowd, his tone softening slightly. "Junior Sister Du Rong specializes in dark-attribute Cultivation Techniques. The Nether Mist Veil in her hands can provide an extremely strong concealment effect. When combined with Invisibility Talismans, it's perfect for sneak attacks."

Upon hearing this, Du Rong's lips curled into a faint smile, and she nodded slightly in agreement.

"But once we strike, it's easy to alert the enemy and draw a mass counterattack from the Yangquan Sect Cultivators."

A Loose Cultivator specializing in the fire element furrowed his brows deeply. The fire aura around him dimmed slightly, clearly showing his concern about the risks.

"This is exactly why I focused on selecting Cultivators of the fire, wind, and lightning elements when I first formed the team."

Wen Qingzhu's tone was firm, carrying the confidence of someone with a well-thought-out plan. "However, in the upcoming battles, roles like killing enemies, providing support, or intercepting will be rotated. As long as everyone does their best, the contribution points won't differ drastically."

This National War would last for fifty years. If the team wanted to build chemistry and sweep up points, they had to set a tone of fairness from the very beginning.

Otherwise, if a rift appeared midway, the entire team could collapse in an instant.

Everyone present was a Core Formation Stage Cultivator who dared to participate in the National War; none of them were fools. They understood the stakes after a moment's thought.

"I have no objection."

An old man exuding an aura of twilight stroked his grey beard, but his eyes burst with an unusual light. "Participating in the National War is about taking a gamble! Since we're gambling, we should go big. If we can take advantage of the other countries' Cultivators being lax and unexpectedly infiltrate their war zone, then at the very least, there's hope of slaying hundreds of Core Formation Cultivators."

This old man was named Fu Yongnian, a Peak Core Formation Stage Loose Cultivator with little Lifespan remaining who specialized in Formations.

When Wen Qingzhu selected team members, he didn't just choose those skilled in combat and flight; he also included several people with unique expertise in the four arts of cultivation and other support fields.

More than half of the Formation Flags and Formation Plates in the team were made by Fu Yongnian.

According to the National War rules, slaying a third-rank or higher local Demon Species only grants one hundred to five hundred points.

But slaying a Core Formation Cultivator starts at five hundred points, and a Peak Core Formation Stage one is worth as much as five thousand points.

If someone were to advance to Nascent Soul during the National War but unfortunately get killed, the points could reach a massive one hundred thousand.

However, the possibility of killing an enemy across a major Realm was minuscule.

Unless a large number of Core Formation Cultivators formed a Formation to launch a surprise attack.

But would a Nascent Soul Cultivator be foolish enough to stand still and wait for over a hundred Core Formation Cultivators to set up a Formation before taking the hit?

Likely, before the Formation was even complete, it would be detected by the opponent's Divine Sense, and they would be slapped to death with a casual palm strike.

Looking at it this way, while the National War had not yet reached its Peak, sweeping through the opponent's small teams with thunderous force and then moving across thousands of miles to constantly erode their points through guerrilla tactics was the most stable choice.

There were risks, but the benefits were enticing enough.

"Let's do it!"

"Let's take the gamble!"

"We'll do as Brother Qingzhu says!"

None of the people present were cowards. Since they dared to participate in the National War, they had long prepared themselves for the possibility of death if they didn't succeed.

After a brief silence, everyone spoke up in agreement, their eyes filled with determination and anticipation.

How could someone chosen by Wen Qingzhu be the type of person who feared death?

"Good! Since everyone has reached a consensus, pass the plan to your respective subordinates as quickly as possible."

Wen Qingzhu nodded and stood up, his tone becoming increasingly solemn. "Once our recovery is over, we set out immediately."

Everyone nodded in unison and turned to leave.

After the previous battles, several Cultivators who coordinated well had already gathered around each of the dozen or so Peak Core Formation Cultivators.

The upcoming operation required everyone to work closely together to maximize the chances of success.

Su Ling sat cross-legged in a corner, silently restoring his slightly depleted magical power.

When Luo Xuanxiao called together the few people who had coordinated in battle before to convey the collective decision to them,

a flash of trance-like realization couldn't help but flicker in Su Ling's eyes.

This scene actually bore some resemblance to his past.

Once upon a time, he had also gone deep behind enemy lines to deliver a fatal blow to those heinous gang bosses and drug lords amidst numerous bodyguards.

Back then, he was just a lone wolf.

Now, he had many companions by his side, though the targets had changed to Cultivators belonging to the Yangquan Faction with whom he had no personal grudge... Speed was of the essence in war.

A moment later, several high-grade magic treasure Flying Boats slowly rose into the air. Their hulls had already been covered by Dark Travel Stealth Arrays, and they were surrounded by a faint phantom layer as they quietly sped towards the west.

Everyone on the boats held their breath in concentration, silently recording the terrain and the distribution of Demon Species along the way while vigilantly scouting the surroundings.

Although the Demon Species had powerful bodies and various innate magic, their Divine Soul strength was far inferior to that of Core Formation Cultivators who practiced diligently.

Occasionally encountering low-flying Demon Species, everyone tacitly maneuvered the Flying Boats to bypass them, trying not to make a single sound.

With the speed of high-grade magic treasure Flying Boats, a distance of forty to fifty thousand miles wasn't originally far.

However, there were simply too many flying Demon Species along the way; they even encountered several Early Stage fourth-rank Demon Species.

If not for the Divine Sense ranges of the several Peak Core Formation Cultivators being wide enough to detect and avoid them in advance, they likely would have blundered right into the enemy's detection range.

Stopping and going all the way with various delays, it wasn't until three days later that the entire team quietly landed on the summit of a mountain range filled with grey trees.

"A thousand miles ahead is the boundary of the Yangquan Sect war zone."

Wen Qingzhu pointed to the mountain forest ahead shrouded in thin mist, his voice low and serious. "From here on, we can only move close to the ground. Flying in the air makes us easy to expose... Junior Sister Du Rong, it's up to you now."

"I shall do my best."

Du Rong replied gently, and with a flick of her finger, a wisp of light gauze emitting a dark aura slowly floated out.

As her magical power circulated, the wisp of gauze grew with the wind, instantly transforming into a hazy grey mist that enveloped everyone present.

In just a moment, this grey mist merged with the surrounding mountain forest environment.

And the people within the mist had long since vanished without a trace, without even a hint of their aura leaking out.
