Chapter 99 The Back Mountain of Purple Bamboo Peak

The back mountain of Purple Bamboo Peak.

This was a valley spanning dozens of miles, surrounded by mountains on all sides, with a flat grassy field in the middle. A small stream flowed through the valley, its water crystal clear. On the slopes on both sides of the valley grew various trees and Spiritual Plants.

However, having been left untended for years, it appeared somewhat desolate.

Su Ye stood at the entrance of the valley, looking around, becoming more satisfied the more he saw.

“What a great place!”

He turned to look at Yun Yuzhen. “Revered Master, why hasn't anyone used this place before?”

“It's too remote.”

Yun Yuzhen shook her head. “It's over a dozen miles from the Main Peak, so the Disciples are unwilling to come here. Moreover, while the Spiritual Qi here is decent, it isn't top-tier, so it has remained unused.”

“That's perfect then.”

Su Ye waved his hand grandly. “This is the spot!”

He walked to the center of the valley and closed his eyes, his Divine Sense enveloping the entire area.

A moment later, he opened his eyes, a smirk curling onto his lips.

“There is a small Spiritual Vein underground here. Although it's not large, it's more than enough to sustain these Spirit Beasts. Furthermore, it's surrounded by mountains, making it easy to defend and hard to attack. It's a good place.”

He pulled a Jade Slip from his robe and tossed it to Lin Waner.

“Waner, go and take out one million Spirit Stones from those sent by the Beast Taming Peak.”

Lin Waner caught the Jade Slip and was stunned for a moment. “Senior Brother, why do you need so many Spirit Stones?”

“To renovate the valley.”

Su Ye smiled. “We’re going to build a Spirit Beast Garden here. We need to set up Formations, build houses, divert water, plant Spiritual Plants... every part of it requires money. One million should be just about enough.”

Lin Waner gasped.

One million Top-Grade Spirit Stones just to build a Spirit Beast Garden?!

Senior Brother is just too lavish!

But she did not hesitate, turning into a streak of light and flying toward the Cold Jade Palace.

Su Ye turned to Lin Qianxue.

“Light Snow, your Clear Sword Heart gives you keen perception. Help me look at the flow of Spiritual Qi in this valley. See where is suitable for setting up a Spirit Gathering Array, where is suitable for planting Spiritual Plants, and where is suitable for building Spirit Beast dens.”

Lin Qianxue nodded, closed her eyes, and released the perceptive power of her Innate Sword Heart.

A moment later, she opened her eyes and pointed in several directions.

“Over there, the Spiritual Qi is densest, suitable for the main Formation eye.”

“There, near the water source, is suitable for water-attribute Spirit Beasts.”

“There, where the terrain is high and there is plenty of sunlight, is suitable for fire-attribute Spirit Beasts.”

“And there, in the shade where the cold air is heavy, is suitable for ice-attribute Spirit Beasts.”

Su Ye noted them all down, his eyes full of admiration.

“Light Snow, you really are my capable assistant.”

Lin Qianxue’s pretty face flushed slightly, and she lowered her head.

Yun Yuzhen watched from the side, feeling a bit sour in her heart.

This Rebellious Disciple, he was so gentle when praising Light Snow, but why was he so wicked when he was bullying me just now?

She huffed and turned her head away.

Su Ye noticed her mood and walked over with a smile, putting his arm around her waist.

“Revered Master is also a capable assistant, of course. If Revered Master hadn't led the way, I wouldn't have known Purple Bamboo Peak had such a great place.”

Yun Yuzhen’s face reddened, and she slapped his hand away.

“Cut it out! Who cares about your praise!”

Though she said that, the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curl up slightly.

...

An hour later.

Lin Waner flew back carrying three bulging Storage Pouches.

“Senior Brother! I’ve brought the Spirit Stones!”

She poured the Storage Pouches out onto the ground—

Clatter!

One million Top-Grade Spirit Stones piled into a small mountain, shimmering with dazzling light under the moonlight, illuminating the entire valley as bright as day.

Yun Yuzhen’s mouth twitched as she looked at the mountain of Spirit Stones.

This Rebellious Disciple is truly willing to spend.

One million Top-Grade Spirit Stones, thrown away just like that.

But then again, these Spirit Stones were plundered anyway, so it didn't hurt to spend them.

Su Ye began to set up the Formation.

He took out several Formation Plates from his robe and buried them in the ground one by one, according to the locations pointed out by Lin Qianxue. These Formation Plates were all taken from Peak Master Liu Changqing; each one was of significant value and was an essential material for setting up high-level Formations.

After burying the Formation Plates, he took out nine fist-sized Top-Grade Spirit Stones and struck them into nine different positions in the valley.

Finally, he stood in the center of the valley, forming hand seals with his hands while muttering incantations.

“Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi, heed my command!”

“Gather!”

Boom!

A brilliant light soared into the sky from underground!

Immediately after, the nine Spirit Stones around the valley lit up simultaneously, echoing the central Formation eye from afar, forming a massive light barrier that enveloped the entire valley.

Upon the light barrier, countless runes flowed incessantly, radiating a vast pressure.

The Spiritual Qi within the valley grew denser at a rate visible to the naked eye. The originally thin Spiritual Qi was now so concentrated it almost condensed into liquid!

Yun Yuzhen’s pupils constricted.

“The Eight Desolations Spirit Gathering Formation?!”

This was an ancient Formation that had been long lost. Even the Main Peak of the Taichu Holy Land used nothing more than a simplified Four Symbols Spirit Gathering Array.

This Rebellious Disciple actually knows how to set up the Eight Desolations Spirit Gathering Formation?!

“Revered Master has a good eye.”

Su Ye clapped his hands and smiled. “It is indeed the Eight Desolations Spirit Gathering Formation. However, it's only a simplified version. A true Eight Desolations Spirit Gathering Formation requires eighty-one Formation eyes, while we only have nine right now, so it can only exert a tenth of its power.”

“A tenth is already terrifying!”

Yun Yuzhen took a deep breath, feeling the dense Spiritual Qi in the valley, her face full of shock.

“The concentration of Spiritual Qi here has already surpassed that of the Purple Bamboo Peak's Main Peak!”

“That's good then.”

Su Ye nodded with satisfaction and turned to Lin Waner.

“Waner, now it's up to you.”

“Me?”

Lin Waner looked bewildered. “Senior Brother, what can I do?”

“You possess the Primal Water Body and are naturally close to all things in heaven and earth, especially Spirit Beasts.”

Su Ye said seriously, “These Spirit Beasts were just plundered, so they will certainly have some resistance in their hearts. I need you to use your affinity to soothe them and make them willing to stay here.”

“Are you willing?”

Lin Waner was stunned for a moment, then nodded vigorously.

“I am!”

She turned and ran. “I’ll go bring them over right now!”

...

Half an hour later.

Lin Waner arrived at the valley in a grand manner, leading over a dozen Spirit Beasts.

Strangely enough, the Spirit Beasts that had been acting on their own and were wary of each other in the side hall just now were now as docile as little lambs following behind Lin Waner.

The Golden-Haired Lion followed her closely, its tail even wagging occasionally.

The Demon Flame Wolf restrained its eerie green gaze and walked obediently in the middle of the pack.

The Thunder Eagle landed on Lin Waner’s shoulder, nuzzling its head against her face.

The Red Flame Fox had already woken up and was being held in Lin Waner’s arms, making comfortable purring sounds.

The Vajra Ape carried a huge wooden box on its back, which was filled with various miscellaneous items.

Even that Timid Turtle poked its head out and followed slowly at the very back.
