21: The princess is actually a little fangirl?

Looking at the brother and sister before him, one polite and refined, the other willful and overbearing.

Lu Yi walked up from behind with a playful smile on his face.

He stood between Ling'er and the pair of siblings, inconspicuously shielding Ling'er behind him.

Then, he smiled gently at the man and took the initiative to smooth things over:

"It is merely a misunderstanding. Children will be children; bumps and scrapes are inevitable. There is no need for you to take it to heart, brother."

Seeing this, the man immediately apologized to Ling'er sincerely once again.

He then turned his head and, with an unquestionable, stern gaze, stopped his younger sister, Wu Mingyue, who was still trying to argue.

Seeing her master step in, Ling'er immediately put away all her emotions and obediently retreated to Lu Yi's side.

She stretched out her arms and affectionately linked her arm with his.

She leaned her head gently against Lu Yi's shoulder, putting on a pure and innocent look that said, "I don't know anything; I'll leave everything up to my master."

Only the corner of her eye was still glancing provocatively at Wu Mingyue opposite her.

"Meeting is fate."

Feeling the soft sensation on his arm, Lu Yi continued with a smile:

"Since your younger sister has also been startled, why don't we go to the 'Drunken Immortal Tower' nearby for a drink? Let's consider it a reconciliation, how about that?"

His true purpose was naturally not to apologize, but to use this opportunity to properly probe the background of these siblings.

After all, it was not often that he encountered people who made him feel they were "of the same kind" at first glance.

Wu Mingxi had the same intention.

He had long since noticed that the cultivation of the red-clad woman holding onto the man before him was not ordinary.

And this man, whose depths he could not fathom at all, filled him with both wariness and curiosity.

He also wanted to take this opportunity to figure out the other party's background, so he accepted the proposal.

"Your Excellency is too kind. It is I who should be apologizing for my younger sister's recklessness. Please!"

...

The four of them came together to the 'Drunken Immortal Tower' next door, a brightly lit building that stood seven stories tall.

Lu Yi looked up at the flamboyant calligraphy on the sign and couldn't help but mutter internally:

"This name sounds exactly like the kind of place in novels specifically used for causing trouble and slapping the faces of villains."

Entering the restaurant, led by a respectful waiter, they arrived at an elegant private room on the third floor.

After taking their seats, Wu Mingxi insisted on playing the host and ordered a table of the most characteristic wine and dishes of the Xuanwu Kingdom.

After a few rounds of drinks, he took the initiative to introduce himself:

"I have yet to ask your name, Your Excellency. I am Wu Mingxi, and this is my younger sister, Wu Mingyue."

"Oh? The surname Wu?"

Hearing this surname, Lu Yi asked curiously:

"The royal surname of the Xuanwu Kingdom seems to be 'Wu', right? I wonder if you two have any connection to the Xuanwu Kingdom royal family?"

Upon hearing this, Wu Mingxi smiled calmly and admitted:

"Your Excellency has a sharp eye. To be honest, I am the current Crown Prince of the Xuanwu Kingdom, and Mingyue is my younger sister, the Little Princess."

Hearing the identity of "Crown Prince," Lu Yi felt no ripples in his heart.

After all, a mere heir to the throne of a secular ancient kingdom was not worth mentioning compared to a transcendent Cultivate Sect like the Primordial Holy Land.

Then, as if he had figured something out, he muttered:

"No wonder this little girl is so willful and overbearing; it turns out she was spoiled rotten..."

Hearing this, and seeing the careless, indifferent attitude on his face, in her eyes, this was a display of contempt for her royal status.

She was immediately displeased!

"Bang!"

She slammed the table, stood up from her seat, and glared at Lu Yi:

"Who are you calling willful and overbearing?! Don't think you're special just because you're good-looking!"

"Mingyue! Sit down!"

Wu Mingxi hurriedly pressed his bristling sister back into her seat and apologized to Lu Yi repeatedly:

"Please calm your anger, Your Excellency. My younger sister is unruly; I apologize to you on her behalf."

He was, however, increasingly shocked.

This man before him, after learning his identity, had not shown the slightest bit of awe.

This composure and calmness only confirmed his earlier guess—the other party's background was absolutely extraordinary.

He must be a Disciple of some top Sect here to participate in the Exchange Conference.

Therefore, he lowered his posture even further and asked even more politely with a cupped-hand salute:

"May I ask, which Sect do you hail from, Your Excellency?"

Lu Yi picked up the wine cup in front of him, brought it to his lips, and took a light sip.

Then, he spoke in a tone so casual it was almost lazy, lightly spitting out four words:

"Primordial Holy Land."

These four words were like a giant boulder crashing into a calm lake.

Upon hearing this, Wu Mingxi's pupils shrank suddenly, his face full of shock, before he could say anything.

Beside him, Wu Mingyue "whooshed" and jumped up from her seat again.

But this time, there was not a trace of anger on her face; instead, it was filled with extreme excitement and adoration.

Her bright, large eyes were almost sparkling.

"Primordial Holy Land?! Does that mean Disciples of the Primordial Holy Land have already arrived? Has that legendary Saint arrived yet?"

Lu Yi was directly amused by her 180-degree change in attitude.

He put down his wine cup and asked with a smile:

"Why? Are you very interested in him?"

"Of course!"

Wu Mingyue's cheeks were flushed with excitement, her hands clenched into fists in front of her chest, like a little fan girl who had just met her idol:

"That is the Saint Son of Taichu! Legend has it that his talent for Cultivate is unparalleled in the world, his appearance is handsome, and he has almost never appeared in public; he is very mysterious! Of course I am interested!"

She then seemed to think of something and asked eagerly:

"Oh, stop asking so many questions! Hurry up and tell me, has he arrived or not!"

Looking at her impatient appearance, the smile on the corner of Lu Yi's mouth deepened:

"Of course he has. Seeing that you are so interested, would you like... me to take you to see him?"

Who would have thought that the Little Princess, who was willful, spicy, and excited just a second ago, would suddenly seem like a different person after hearing this, acting all shy and coy.

Blushing, she fidgeted with her fingers uneasily, and asked in a voice as soft as a mosquito's hum:

"Would... would that be too presumptuous? Would the Saint... be willing to see me?"

Lu Yi was amused by her huge contrast.

So this willful Little Princess was actually his own "fan girl"?

At this moment, Wu Mingxi also stood up immediately and straightened his clothes.

Then, he bowed solemnly to Lu Yi with a posture several times more respectful than before.

"I was very rude just now. May I ask your esteemed name, Your Excellency?"

Lu Yi put down his wine cup and scanned the siblings with different expressions before him with a calm gaze.

Then he spoke slowly, revealing his true identity:

"I am the Saint Son of Taichu, Lu Yi."
