26: "Chance Encounter" and Calculation

Guided by Wu Mingyue, Lu Yi arrived in front of the Tianbao Pavilion.

The building before them could only be described with the word "magnificent."

The entire pavilion was carved with Dragons and Phoenixes, featuring flying eaves and bracket sets, and was constructed entirely from some unknown golden Spiritual Plant, reflecting a brilliant radiance under the sunset's afterglow.

Its level of luxury and grandeur even surpassed that of the average palace buildings within the Primordial Holy Land.

It was truly worthy of being a renowned commercial organization in the Heavenly Profound Realm.

The two had just stepped over the gilded threshold.

A moment later, Lin Tian, Qing'er, and Old Qian—a group of three—also happened to arrive at the entrance of the Tianbao Pavilion.

At this moment, Lin Tian was wearing a wide black robe that enveloped his entire figure.

He had also applied a simple disguise to his appearance, making it look unremarkable.

He looked up at the resplendent building before him, his eyes filled with excitement and anticipation.

As long as he could obtain those few Spiritual Plants that could reshape his Meridians at this auction, his Foundation would be completely stabilized.

And he would be able to embark on his path of revenge sooner!

"Brother Lin Tian, why must we dress like this?"

Qing'er, standing beside him, looked at his furtive appearance and asked in a low, curious voice.

"When out and about, it's always good to be cautious," Lin Tian replied casually.

He naturally wouldn't say that it was because he had heard the news of Lu Yi appearing at the Drunken Immortal Tower yesterday.

He felt wary in his heart, fearing that he might encounter that guy here, so for the sake of safety, it was better to hide his identity.

Old Qian, walking at the very back, saw how cautious Lin Tian was acting; a hint of satisfaction appeared in his cloudy eyes, and he nodded to himself.

He mused to himself that he had indeed not chosen the wrong person.

This child possessed exceptional talent and great Luck, and would surely grow into a powerful figure in the future.

He thought that after his own Lifespan reached its limit, this child would be enough to protect Qing'er in his stead.

However, his current Heart-Nature was still a bit lacking, and his obsession with hatred was too heavy; this was a huge hidden danger.

It seemed that before his own Lifespan was exhausted, he must find a way to help him untie this knot in his heart.

Otherwise, if a Heart Demon were to breed, or worse, if he were to fall into the Demonic Path, it would be bad.

...

Inside the Tianbao Pavilion, it was a whole new world.

Guided by Wu Mingyue, Lu Yi did not linger in the main hall but went straight through an exclusive passageway to the exclusive box of the Xuanwu Kingdom royal family located on the third floor.

The view here was excellent; through the huge one-way crystal window in front, one could clearly overlook the entire magnificent circular auction venue.

Yet, the people downstairs could not catch a glimpse of anything inside the box.

"Holy Son Lu, please sit!"

Wu Mingyue pointed to the luxurious chair in the box.

Lu Yi sat down casually and then signaled for Wu Mingyue to sit as well.

Wu Mingyue looked at the equally luxurious chair next to Lu Yi, then looked at the one Lu Yi was currently sitting on.

A strange thought suddenly popped into her little head:

"Why must the chairs here be made so small?"

"If they were a bit bigger, would I... would I be able to sit on the same one as him?"

Once this bold thought appeared, it grew wildly like weeds.

Just as she was about to sit on the chair next to him, her little brain had a flash of inspiration, and she came up with a good idea.

She turned around and went straight in front of Lu Yi.

Under Lu Yi's slightly dazed gaze, this Princess, who had been charming and lovely a moment ago, turned around with a flushed face.

Then she sat right down into Lu Yi's lap.

"..."

Lu Yi was completely stunned by her bold maneuver.

He thought to himself:

"Is this little girl really that open?"

He lowered his head and looked at the petite figure in his arms, whose body was stiff and whose ears were flushed red, and couldn't help but chuckle.

It seems she wasn't that open after all.

He naturally reached out his hands and took the opportunity to support her slender, willow-like waist.

Then, he said in a teasing tone:

"Since you want to sit, then sit. Just don't complain that it's uncomfortable."

Lu Yi sighed inwardly, thinking about how thin this little girl's waist really was.

Wu Mingyue felt the scorching temperature radiating from his palms and, upon hearing his words, her body couldn't help but tremble slightly.

She was extremely shy and thought to herself:

"What is wrong with me today?"

"How could I do such a bold thing?"

At this moment, the lights in the auction venue dimmed slightly, signaling that the auction was about to begin.

Lu Yi's Divine Sense quietly swept across the entire venue.

The auction venue was a mix of all sorts of people, so there was no need to worry about his Divine Sense scan being discovered by that old man.

He barely exerted any effort before easily locking onto the location of Lin Tian and his group among the seats below.

He couldn't help but complain inwardly.

"Lin Tian, this guy, actually even used a disguise. He's quite cautious."

"However, caution is useless."

"A white-haired old man, an innocent young girl, plus a young man wearing a black robe who's afraid that others won't notice him."

"This combination is just too eye-catching at an auction."

"Especially that black robe; what decent person would dress like this to attend an auction?"

"Isn't this just blatantly telling everyone 'I have a problem'?"

At the same time, he was planning how to deal with Lin Tian; he definitely couldn't let him successfully repair his Meridians smoothly.

Immediately, a plan quietly rose in the depths of Lu Yi's heart.

He leaned close to Wu Mingyue's ear, and in her flushed ear, whispered in a very soft voice:

"Mingyue, there is something I would like to ask for your help with..."

Wu Mingyue was made even shyer by the warm breath he exhaled, and she was almost melting into his arms.

She stuttered and asked in a low voice:

"W-what help..."

"It's very simple..."

Lu Yi whispered:

"After the auction begins in a moment, I need you to help me target a group of people. No matter what they bid on, you just keep raising the price, and you must snatch the items from their hands."

Although Wu Mingyue didn't understand why Lu Yi wanted to act this way—after all, who would dare to compete with him for items?—

the thought that "the Saint's enemy is my enemy" arose spontaneously in her heart.

Without hesitation, not even asking for the reason, she blushed and nodded heavily in response:

"Okay!"

Seeing her agree so readily, Lu Yi smiled with satisfaction; this little girl was too easy to handle.

He told Mingyue the specific location of Lin Tian's group:

"They are sitting in the fifth seat of the third row in Zone A. There are three of them, and one of them is wearing a black robe; it's very obvious."

Afterward, he gently patted Wu Mingyue's slender waist, signaling her to go over and take a look for herself to recognize the target, so she wouldn't mistake them for someone else.

Wu Mingyue bit her lip, then somewhat reluctantly rose from Lu Yi's warm but slightly "uncomfortable" embrace and walked to the crystal window of the box.

She stood on tiptoe, pressed against the armrest, and looked down in the direction Lu Yi had pointed.

Relying on that extremely conspicuous black robe, she quickly locked onto the target.

She turned her head and nodded to Lu Yi, indicating that she had recognized them.

Just at this moment, accompanied by a burst of noise and a crisp gong sound,

a graceful and charming female auctioneer walked onto the central high platform.

The auction officially began.
