155: Chapter 155 Dr. Qiu's Diary
When Yun Zhuo mentioned this, Di Zhenzhen also noticed something was wrong.
She subconsciously took a step back; the silver-white room was still behind the window, but the flashing red lights that filled it had vanished.
"How long has Dr. Qiu been gone?"
"Eleven years."
Yun Zhuo beckoned, "Come over and look there."
As Di Zhenzhen approached, Yun Zhuo pointed to the Transparent Door Display next to the Incubation Pod. "The display shows that the Incubation Pod was opened three years ago, which means someone was here three years ago."
"They made a batch of Androids, but for some reason, they failed."
"And it probably wasn't the first failure; it was a series of failures, until they finally gave up in anger three years ago."
"How do you know?" Di Zhenzhen asked.
"If it were you, would you try again after the first failure?"
Di Zhenzhen thought for a moment, "Yes."
"If you wanted to continue the experiment, wouldn't you have to clean the Incubation Pods?"
"I see. That person was clearly desperate, leaving without even caring about these Incubation Pods."
Yun Zhuo continued, "Also, the incubation room we are seeing now shouldn't be behind this window, or rather, this isn't a window at all."
After saying that, he sat down at the desk.
The desk was minimalist in style; he sat in the swivel chair and looked around but couldn't even find a drawer.
However, when he reached out and touched the desktop, a blue light ring immediately lit up under his palm. He swiped right to turn it on, and a Holographic Screen appeared before Yun Zhuo.
A map was outlined in red lines on the Holographic Screen.
Yun Zhuo had seen this kind of map before; it was similar to the drawing style in the Incense Burner, resembling the subway lines of a city, though the routes were different.
Why would there also be a map on Qiu Min's computer? Or was it just a desktop wallpaper she had doodled?
"What is this?"
Just as he was wondering, Di Zhenzhen leaned in and asked.
"It looks like a map."
"A map? Who would draw a map like this? Forget a scale, it doesn't even have latitude and longitude coordinates. How are you supposed to use a map like this?"
Yun Zhuo also shook his head, indicating he wasn't sure either, unless it really was a subway map, which wouldn't need those things.
Di Zhenzhen stared at the map with a furrowed brow for a long time; the more she looked, the deeper her frown became and the less she understood.
Yun Zhuo also seemed to be looking at the map, but he was actually waiting, habitually waiting for the desktop icons to appear.
His old computer was like that; the icons would only appear long after the wallpaper showed up.
But after waiting for a while, the icons still didn't appear. Qiu Min was a doctor with such a large laboratory; her computer couldn't be this laggy, right?
"Xiao Zhuo, are you sure this is a map?"
"What did you see?"
"Why do I feel like it's a misconnected circuit?"
"A circuit?"
"Yeah. Look here." Di Zhenzhen pointed at one of the lines. "This line starts from this point, goes in a circle, and comes back; it clearly forms a short circuit."
Yun Zhuo followed her finger and looked around; it really did seem that way, and those small circles in the middle of the lines could be seen as wires.
Just as she finished speaking and pulled her hand back, the line she pointed at actually flicked in the direction of her finger, as if her finger were magnetic and had attracted the line.
Then, as she pulled away, the distance increased, and the line broke free from the magnetic field and settled back onto the Holographic Screen.
Yun Zhuo was stunned by this scene; the lines on this map could actually move?
He also reached out to try, and sure enough, as long as he placed his finger on the connection point of two line segments, he could pick up one of the lines and move it to a surrounding connection point.
"Is this a graphic password?"
No wonder the icons hadn't appeared after all this time. He thought the computer was too laggy, but now he realized he had been staring blankly at the login password input box.
Di Zhenzhen also realized it; it seemed they had to connect the circuit correctly to open Dr. Qiu's computer.
She started trying to solve it.
"Sister Zhenzhen, are you an electrical engineer too?"
Di Zhenzhen smiled slightly. "Not exactly an engineer, but over the years, to maintain the Goddess Statue, I've learned a bit of related knowledge."
Yun Zhuo watched her fiddle with it, and before long, the circuit diagram was unrecognizable, no longer resembling its original state.
Looking at her face, sweat beads were hanging from the tip of her nose.
"Sister Zhenzhen, do you remember what it looked like originally? Can you restore it?"
"Huh? Why restore it? I think I'm almost successful." As she spoke, she guiltily waved her hand at Yun Zhuo. "Don't look at me yet. I'll call you when I'm done."
"But don't you think it's strange? If you set this password, would you make it take so many steps to restore?"
"Aren't I trying to crack it? Cracking a password is definitely much more troublesome than entering it directly."
Yun Zhuo looked at the circuit diagram, which she had almost turned into a spider web, and nodded. "What you're saying makes sense, but since it's a circuit diagram, shouldn't it follow standards of simplicity and orderliness?
That way it's clear at a glance and convenient for Late Stage board layout and wiring, right?"
"I... okay, I forgot what the original graphic looked like. What now?"
"Shut down and restart."
As he spoke, Yun Zhuo swiped left on the desktop, and the Holographic Screen disappeared with a flash.
Then he swiped right to restart.
When the Holographic Screen reappeared, the circuit diagram that Di Zhenzhen had turned into a mess was indeed restored.
When she tried to reach out again, Yun Zhuo grabbed her hand. "Let me try this time."
If this diagram was a password, Yun Zhuo had two sets of secrets: one from the Incense Burner in his own home, and the other from the Incense Burner on the altar of the Guanyin Temple.
He thought of how some people like to put their house keys under the doormat; he wondered if Qiu Min had the same habit.
So, following the route map, he moved three line segments in the middle and changed the position of one line in the bottom right corner.
The moment the last line was connected, the entire diagram instantly turned from red to green.
Then the lines disappeared, replaced by a nine-by-nine grid of eighty-one squares. One might mistake it for a data table.
But Yun Zhuo knew this was another secret lock because the numbers in several places were wrong.
"Xiao Zhuo, how did you know?"
The moment the diagram turned green, Di Zhenzhen knew Yun Zhuo had guessed right. No, not guessed—if it were a guess, why couldn't she guess it after trying for so long?
Yun Zhuo smiled, "Some people just like to put their house keys under the doormat."
"Doormat?"
Yun Zhuo didn't explain. He changed the incorrect numbers to the correct ones.
The 81-square grid disappeared, and the real computer desktop finally appeared before them.
A cyber-beauty with closed eyes, holding a floating Triangular Prism in her hands.
Yun Zhuo touched it lightly, and several labels flew out from the Triangular Prism.
He glanced at them and clicked on the "Experimental Log."
A video playback window popped up, and Qiu Min appeared on the screen.
She really looked like Qiu Jie, with delicate features and a thin face; the difference was that Qiu Jie had long hair tied in a gentle Mother's Braid.
Qiu Min had crisp short hair, wore gold-rimmed glasses, and a white lab coat.
"Fireseed Calendar Year 152, June 20th, Sunny. The first War Princess successfully left the pod. The editing of the SR1 and SU3 Gene Segments still failed, but this does not affect her compatibility with the Virus."
"Fireseed Calendar Year 152, June 21st, Sunny. Today I incubated five Human Embryos simultaneously, using five different methods to edit their SR1 and SU3 Gene Segments.
I need Su Jingzhou to send me more Incubation Pods so I can test more codes at once.
By the way, that little girl from yesterday—I gave her a name. Zhenzhen, Di Zhenzhen."
