270: Chapter 270 The Ultimate Calamity
Morning Star’s originally light blue holographic projection suddenly turned a dazzling crimson, like fresh blood, in an instant!
Her usually calm mechanical voice, now distorted and sharp due to extreme fear, even carried a shrill electronic screech:
“Warning!!! Administrator!!! Retreat immediately!!! All forces, evacuate this sector immediately!!!”
Chen Xi’s smile instantly froze on his face. He whipped his head around: “Morning Star! What’s going on?! Isn’t the Tyrant dead?!”
“Ye…yes! The Tyrant is dead!”
Morning Star’s virtual image flickered violently, as if disturbed by some terrifying magnetic field:
“But…we were all wrong! The reason the Imperial Marshal didn’t fight to the death to kill the Tyrant back then wasn’t because it couldn’t be killed…but because it couldn’t be killed!!!”
“The Tyrant’s existence…wasn’t for occupying this sector…”
“Its massive stellar body…has been entrenched in the center of the Sirius Sector…to…to [block] that thing!!!”
“Block what?!” Su Xiaoxiao and Li Murou asked in horror.
Everyone looked in the direction indicated by Morning Star’s radar.
That was the absolute center where the Star Abyss Tyrant had just exploded and fallen. As the dazzling nine-colored nebula slowly dissipated due to energy depletion, the true scene hidden behind it, obscured by the Tyrant’s massive body for a hundred thousand years, was finally laid bare before everyone’s eyes.
That was not the starry sky, nor was it an asteroid.
It was an…[Absolute Black Rift] whose vastness was beyond words, as if it had split the entire universe in half!
There was no light, no time, no concept of space in this Rift. It was like a “mouth” of the universe, quietly lying there. And after the Tyrant’s death, losing the suppression of its High-dimensional Divine Body, this Rift was expanding and tearing outwards at a desperate speed!
The abandoned planets and remnants of interstellar warships near the edge of the Rift, without even making a sound, instantly turned into—[Nothingness]—the moment they touched that darkness, like a pencil drawing erased by an eraser.
“Tha…that is…” Chen Xi’s pupils contracted to pinpricks. A sense of deadly crisis, a thousand times stronger than facing a High-dimensional Deity, instantly seized his heart.
“That is the ultimate catastrophe that devoured all known cosmic civilizations…the true culprit behind the demise of the Ancient Human Ascension Empire…”
AI Morning Star’s voice was filled with pure despair:
“[Antimatter…Void Abyss].”
Before she finished speaking.
Under the terrified gaze of all the soldiers.
A massive “hand,” composed purely of unspeakable black shadow, large enough to crush Earth like a marble, slowly…emerged from that bottomless black Rift.
It emerged.
Dead silence.
A dead silence more absolute than the vacuum of space instantly enveloped the entire Earth Expeditionary Force fleet.
Millions of soldiers, who had been cheering for victory and dreaming of a great age of interstellar navigation just a second ago, were now frozen in place as if gazed upon by Medusa. Everyone maintained their previous posture, but their eyes held only a pure, extreme fear that stripped away all capacity for thought.
The black “giant hand” that emerged from the [Void Abyss] had no concrete form, no skin, no bones, not even conventional energy fluctuations. It was like a flowing mass of “absolute darkness.” The moment it appeared, the surrounding cosmic space made a grating “creaking” sound, like boiling water meeting ice.
“Wha…what exactly is that thing…”
Li Murou trembled all over, and the harp of time reversal in her hand actually let out a wail of unbearable strain. As an SS-class expert controlling the rules of time, she was horrified to discover that the timelines around the black hand were not frozen, but simply “non-existent”!
“It’s devouring everything…no, not devouring, it’s [erasing]!”
Su Xiaoxiao’s knuckles turned white as she clutched her staff. She personally witnessed a discarded gas giant planet, whose mass was comparable to Jupiter, closest to the black hand. The moment it was lightly brushed by the black shadow, there was no explosion, no disintegration. The massive planet simply vanished into thin air, as if a piece had been forcibly gouged out of the universe’s canvas! Not a single speck of dust, not a trace of radiation, was left behind!
“Retreat! All forces, retreat immediately!!!”
Lei Zhentian was the first to react from the shock. As a seasoned veteran who had experienced countless battles, his beast-like intuition told him that this was not something their current strength could contend with. This was an ultimate catastrophe far beyond their cognitive dimension!
“Engines full power! Target Earth, initiate highest-level warp jump! Quick!!!” Li Zhenhai also roared hoarsely into the public channel.
However.
“Buzz…warning…spatial coordinates cannot be locked…warp drive offline…”
“Warning! The fundamental physical constants of this sector are collapsing…imaginary space intervention…we…are locked down…”
Desperate reports came from the cockpits of various warships.
Although the black giant hand moved slowly, with its appearance, the underlying laws of the entire Sirius Sector were being forcibly rewritten by a higher-dimensional “nothingness.” Here, the speed of light was no longer constant, space was no longer continuous, and even the act of “fleeing” itself lost its physical meaning.
“Damn it! Time and space are imprisoned! We can’t even open the star gate to go back!” Shen Ye and Xia Qing rushed over from the other side of the Divine Realm Fortress. Shen Ye’s lone eye, which could perceive time and space, was now streaming with blood. He tried to forcibly tear open a Rift back to Earth, but found that his proud laws of time and space, the moment they touched that void, were like a clay ox entering the sea, not causing the slightest ripple.
“Morning Star! What in the world is going on?! Didn’t you say we’d be safe once the Tyrant died?!” Chen Xi turned his head, glaring at AI Morning Star, whose holographic projection was flickering violently.
“I’m sorry…Administrator…”
Morning Star’s image had now turned a tragic crimson, her voice intermittent and filled with guilt and despair:
“The top-secret archives regarding the [Void Abyss] in my underlying database…were only forcibly declassified the moment the Tyrant fell and the seal broke…”
“A hundred thousand years ago, when the Ancient Human Ascension Empire explored the edge of the universe, they accidentally touched this [Rift] that penetrates the multiverse. The thing behind this Rift is not a creature, nor a deity…it is the ‘immune system’ generated by the universe to maintain balance, the [Ultimate Catastrophe] that erases all high-dimensional civilizations.”
