6: Chapter 6 Coincidence

Li Murou's eyes flickered with an unprecedented light.

She nodded vigorously and extended her fair hand to Chen Xi, her voice crisp and forceful:

"Thank you, Captain Chen! Looking forward to a happy collaboration!"

In this moment, she was a professional who had truly found a place to belong—Nirvana Battle Team's Li Murou.

Chen Xi smiled and shook her hand:

"Looking forward to working with you."

"Then... Captain Chen,"

Li Murou had already quickly stepped into her new role. She blinked her large, curious eyes and asked impatiently:

"What are our plans next?"

"The first step of the plan," Chen Xi released her hand, a confident smile appearing on his face:

"First, let's book a squad base for our Nirvana."

A squad base was an exclusive space provided by Jiangcheng Professional University for every official battle team.

It served as a warehouse for storing the team's public items and rare materials.

And also a base where team members discussed tactics and planned for the future.

After a battle team was officially established, the captain could submit an application to the school system.

To encourage freshmen to actively form teams, the school stipulated that the first month's usage rights for any newly built battle team's base were completely free.

Starting from the second month, a corresponding amount of battle team points would need to be paid to the school as rent, depending on the base's location and size.

"Okay! Leave it to me!"

Li Murou nodded obediently, then skillfully opened the battle team management backend. Her fingers danced across the keyboard as she pulled up an internal map of the Administration Building.

A moment later, Chen Xi's bracelet received another new message notification.

[Notification: Your squad base application has been approved. Base Location: Jiang University Tactics Building, Building 1, 3rd Floor, Room 301.]

"The third floor? 301?"

Chen Xi looked at the location displayed on the light screen, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes.

He knew the Tactics Building well; it was a building dedicated to the various battle teams. And the third floor... if he remembered correctly, the new base of those ingrates from the Shenfeng Squad was also on the third floor.

"Hehe!"

Seemingly sensing Chen Xi's confusion, Li Murou turned around smugly, puffed out her chest, and patted it proudly, her face screaming "praise me."

"As an intern clerk, I do have a little bit of power! The base rooms on the third floor of the Tactics Building are the largest of all floors and have the most complete internal training equipment. Generally, they are reserved for the ace teams at the top of our school's battle team point rankings."

She winked playfully and lowered her voice:

"I don't know how it happened, but I just refreshed the backend system and saw that the best base room, 301, had just become vacant. So... I did a little bit of maneuvering and gave it to our Nirvana!"

Hearing this, Chen Xi couldn't help but chuckle.

He, of course, knew why 301 was vacant.

That was once the exclusive base of the former number one team, the "Nightfall Squad."

Now that Night Curtain had disbanded, the base was naturally reclaimed by the system.

He just hadn't expected Li Murou to have the audacity and authority to snatch Room 301.

The third floor...

Shenfeng Squad...

And this Room 301 that once belonged to the number one team...

This wonderful coincidence made the curve of Chen Xi's lips grow even colder.

Very good.

Simply excellent.

Being on the same floor as those ingrates is just perfect for showing them.

Exactly how he would grow stronger step by step, and how he would trample Shenfeng under his feet, step by step!

"Well done," Chen Xi praised Li Murou generously.

Having received the captain's affirmation, Li Murou smiled even more happily, her eyes narrowing into cute crescents.

Chen Xi then said:

"Then you should probably quit your internship, right?"

"Yeah!"

Li Murou nodded vigorously:

"Anyway, I'm just an intern, and the contract is very flexible. I just need to mention the application to the supervisor teacher this afternoon. It's very simple."

"OK." Chen Xi nodded with satisfaction. "Then tomorrow morning at nine, we'll meet directly at the Room 301 base. At that time, I'll first make your class core card."

"class core card?"

Li Murou tilted her head in confusion, her large eyes filled with question marks:

"What is that?"

Chen Xi scratched his head:

"Oh right, I forgot to introduce myself." He explained, "My class is 'Miracle Card Maker.' I can create various cards for team members that provide class attribute boosts."

"The cards are mainly divided into two types: 'class core cards' and 'attribute boost cards.' Every professional can be equipped with one core card and multiple boost cards."

"Among them, the 'class core card' is the most important. It is a one-on-one customization based on your class characteristics, skill effects, and even combat habits; it's unique. All subsequent 'attribute boost cards' also need to be matched and expanded upon based on this core card."

"So, tomorrow morning, I need to perform a comprehensive 'class diagnosis' on you based on your class before I can tailor-make the most suitable class core card for you."

"Oh! I see! No problem!"

Li Murou nodded repeatedly as she listened, her eyes filled with anticipation and curiosity for the future.

She winked playfully at Chen Xi and waved her small fist.

"See you tomorrow morning, Captain Chen!"

...

The next morning, Jiang University Tactics Building, third floor.

A figure dressed in magnificent red robes with flame patterns slowly approached the entrance of base room 301.

He was tall, but there was an inescapable arrogance between his brows, as if he looked down on everyone.

It was the Shenfeng Squad's new ace, and the former strongest damage dealer of the Nightfall Squad—Yan Zidong.

Yan Zidong stood at the door, looking at the wooden door that was both familiar and strange. His brow furrowed slightly as he whispered:

"It's been less than a week since Night Curtain disbanded, and someone has already taken the 301 base? Such fast movement... is it some top team from the second year?"

Because Chen Xi had not yet performed the team certification for Room 301.

Room 301 was still in a semi-open state at this time.

Yan Zidong skillfully passed the visitor verification and pushed the door open to enter.

Because the Nightfall Squad had disbanded so hastily, many members' personal items were still left in the base.

Yesterday, he received a message saying that Room 301 had changed hands and telling him to come and move his things as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Thus, Yan Zidong reluctantly made time this morning to come and clean up the mess.

He walked into the base and picked up a storage box in the corner with his name printed on it.

The box wasn't heavy, but his mood was somewhat irritable.

Just as Yan Zidong brought his things to the door, he ran straight into Chen Xi, who was about to enter.

The two's eyes met. Yan Zidong's gaze swept across Chen Xi's face, and he immediately began searching his memory.

As a former ace of the number one battle team, he might not know everyone with a reputation in the school, but he at least had an impression of them.

But the face before him... was very unfamiliar.

He was certain that among the powerful second-year teams, there was absolutely no such person.

As for the first years...

The corner of Yan Zidong's mouth curled into a barely perceptible sneer.

He was the pinnacle of the First-Year University Students. For those mortals he had left far behind, Yan Zidong didn't even bother to remember their names.

Thus, he naturally categorized Chen Xi as a nobody.

Yan Zidong looked down at Chen Xi before him and spoke slowly in a scrutinizing and questioning tone:

"Are you the new owner of this base room?"
