100: Chapter 100 has quite the boastful tone.

Although the second-generation shop owner Yang Yang had been pinched by his wife into silence, now that he had broken the ice, it was easier for the others to join the conversation.

It wasn't that they all wanted to have an affair with her; it was just that when men see a beautiful woman, their instinct is to chat a bit.

"Xu Yuyan, just like old Yang said, if you're having any difficulties, feel free to say it. With so many classmates here, if you lend a hand and I offer some help, you'll be able to get by."

The demolition beneficiary Li Xin spoke with righteous indignation, but he had effectively dragged all the classmates present into the situation.

"Hey, Xu Yuyan, I remember back in high school you were with what's-his-name, right? I heard you two even got married later. How come you got divorced?"

Chu Runze, who lived off his family, hadn't been out in society much and clearly lacked emotional intelligence; he always brought up the most sensitive topics.

Sure enough, as soon as he said that, Xu Yuyan's expression dimmed instantly.

Just as everyone was casting reproachful glares at Chu Runze, Zhao Xiaoshuai finally arrived on the battlefield.

"Sorry, I was held up for a bit. You haven't eaten yet, have you?"

With this brief reprieve, everyone moved past the earlier awkward moment.

"You're so sluggish, you've kept us all waiting until we're starving. I'm going to tell the staff to serve the food now."

There were nine people in the room in total, four couples. Zhao Xiaoshuai didn't stand on ceremony and sat right down next to Xu Yuyan.

Once Zhao Xiaoshuai arrived, Xu Yuyan seemed to have found her backbone; she temporarily forgot her unhappiness, and her whole demeanor became more confident.

"Zhao Xiaoshuai, I remember you had a girlfriend in college, didn't you? Didn't you bring her? And you're sitting right next to Xu Yuyan, be careful or you'll be kneeling on a washboard when you get home."

Li Xin had been the closest to him back in the day, so he was the first to greet him.

"That one broke up. I'm a 'single dog' now."

Although Zhao Xiaoshuai only said that to make it easier to flirt with girls, when Chang Xiangping heard the term "single dog," she assumed Zhao Xiaoshuai was hinting that she shouldn't blab about him buying a car for a girl.

She couldn't help but secretly pout, thinking, 'When men get money, they're all the same.'

Of course, Zhao Xiaoshuai wasn't going to sit quietly next to Xu Yuyan. While he couldn't make a move above the table, he could use his feet below it.

He nudged Xu Yuyan with his lower leg, and a moment later, a silk-clad foot stepped onto his shoe and began to rub against it.

Now that everyone had arrived, they followed the usual custom of reminiscing about the past, constantly saying, "Back when we were in school..."

Zhao Xiaoshuai had no interest in listening to those clichés. Feeling ticklish from her rubbing, he also stretched out his foot and entangled it with hers.

Xu Yuyan carried on a conversation with her old classmates while flirting under the table. She actually had quite a talent for acting, as no one noticed their little secret for a long time.

"Come to think of it, I remember back in school, Zhao Xiaoshuai, you had a crush on Xu Yuyan for the longest time. Now that you're single, why not give it another shot?"

Chu Runze's remark stirred everyone's memories. The fact that Zhao Xiaoshuai used to have a crush on the class beauty was common knowledge—even their homeroom teacher knew about it.

However, back then, seeing that his grades hadn't slipped, the teacher had always turned a blind eye.

Zhao Xiaoshuai smiled nonchalantly. "There was such a time, but unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. As for now, heh."

Amidst the jeering of the classmates, Xu Yuyan didn't say much.

She knew her place and wouldn't do anything inappropriate.

But at that moment, she couldn't help but wonder: if back in high school she hadn't chosen that person, but had instead waited for Zhao Xiaoshuai's confession, would her life have turned out completely different?

Taking advantage of the boisterous laughter, Zhao Xiaoshuai pretended to lean back in his chair, casually placing his hand under the table on Xu Yuyan's thigh, kneading it for a moment, and then withdrawing it without a trace.

None of the old classmates' profiles had reached the bronze frame. Although they possessed wealth exceeding the average person, their personal abilities did not, and wealth didn't carry a very high weight in the system's rating system for male characters.

Therefore, overall, none of them reached a score of 6. This fact echoed his resentment from back then; some people truly just get rich by luck.

But now that he had become one of these people, he didn't care as much as he used to.

As soon as Zhao Xiaoshuai entered the room, Tao Mengjie, the wife of the second-generation shop owner Yang Yang, recognized him.

After all, he was a big boss who had bought a maybach from her, so she remembered him very clearly.

However, the boss didn't seem to remember her, so she didn't rush to strike up a conversation.

But upon hearing Zhao Xiaoshuai admit he was single, and given the connection of being old classmates, she felt she could plot something regarding her cousin, who was currently looking for a match.

If it actually worked out, she would gain a big favor, and becoming relatives would definitely help her future.

However, the atmosphere wasn't right yet, so she wasn't in a rush.

Dishes were served one after another, the hot pot in the center began to boil, and as everyone ate meat and drank alcohol, the atmosphere quickly heated up.

The reminiscing phase was over, and next came the customary "life is hard" session.

The first to speak was still the second-generation shop owner Yang Yang, "The economy hasn't been great lately. This main shop is fine, but my other three branches are just average; the monthly gross profit doesn't even reach 100,000. I was planning to open another branch, but I have to put that on hold now. Making money isn't easy."

Chu Runze, who lived off his family, was eating with an oily, greasy mouth and was the first to agree, "Exactly! Interest rates have been dropping for the past few years, it's scared me so much I've lost my appetite. Luckily, I put my five million in a fixed deposit, otherwise, I'd have lost it all."

The demolition beneficiary Li Xin wasn't to be outdone, "Changes in society are too fast now. A trend doesn't even last two years before it dies out. The six or seven million I earned in previous years has already lost twenty or thirty percent. Starting a business is hard."

The three "discontented" old classmates seemed to resonate with each other, and with flushed faces, they toasted together, "We still have to keep striving!"

Zhao Xiaoshuai watched them act pretentious with a smile. He excused himself by saying he had liver problems and the doctor forbade him from drinking, so he drank beverages with the ladies. Nowadays, except for his family and childhood friends, no one could make him "drink along."

Seeing their lively atmosphere, Zhao Xiaoshuai said casually, "A while ago, I saw that big brands like Porsche were discounting their cars."

Meng Yawen's panamera was bought from her old classmate Chang Xiangping, so the old classmate immediately agreed with him, "That's right, business hasn't been easy lately. Some cars lose money on every sale. Mengjie, how is your Mercedes doing?"

Although Tao Mengjie and Chang Xiangping were in the same line of business, there was a layer of connection between them, so they weren't exactly enemies and could occasionally share some inside information.

Tao Mengjie glanced at Zhao Xiaoshuai casually, "We're doing alright, but it's not as good as previous years. However, fortunately..."

She was just about to pay a natural compliment, but her husband interrupted Zhao Xiaoshuai, who was actually the one with the strongest economic power present.

Yang Yang suddenly continued the previous topic in a loud voice, "Zhao Xiaoshuai, what's up, are you still thinking about buying a Porsche?"

"Take a piece of advice from your brother, that thing is just a rich man's toy. Ordinary people are better off buying something with high cost-performance."

Tao Mengjie pinched her husband hard, worried that this loose-lipped man would say something unpleasant, but clearly, this wasn't the time to keep bringing up that matter.

After all, her husband also cared about face; as his wife, she couldn't help an outsider slap his face.

She could only try her best to keep him from continuing to make a fool of himself.

Yang Yang muttered to himself, he had only glanced at Xu Yuyan's profile a few times, and yet his wife had still noticed.

Her eyes were truly sharp.

Zhao Xiaoshuai wouldn't let this topic go, "What's wrong with Porsche? It's not that expensive, right? I quite liked that panamera model a while ago. I thought it would be quite suitable as a gift for a girlfriend. Yang Yang, aren't you going to buy one for your wife?"

The second-generation shop owner's eyes widened, "panamera? That thing costs over a million. It looks nice, but the cost-performance is too low. It's not that I can't afford it, but I don't think it's worth it. Besides, my wife sees them every day, she's probably sick of them."

Although Tao Mengjie had wanted to own one of the luxury cars in the shop countless times, she knew it wasn't practical.

People who can afford a million-dollar car usually have at least tens of millions in assets.

So she could only agree with her husband.

But Yang Yang had ultimately been subtly jabbed. Regardless of whether the other party was doing it on purpose, he had to jab back:

"But Zhao Xiaoshuai, you've got quite a big mouth, talking about how Porsche isn't expensive. What's up? Did you get a promotion and a raise recently? How many years does it take you to earn a panamera?"
