163: Reunion with Yafei
Mo Yuhan reined in his aura and stepped forward.
Before he could even speak, a guard captain stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over his young yet composed face, and asked with formal politeness, "What can I do for you, sir? The Headquarters is very busy today, so if you do not have an appointment or urgent business, please..."
"I'm looking for Sister Ya Fei," Mo Yuhan said directly, his voice calm.
"Manager Ya Fei?"
The guard captain's brow subtly twitched. Ya Fei's position in the Mittel Headquarters was soaring, and she was already one of the managers overseeing core auction affairs. The number of people wishing to see her daily was like fish crossing a river.
Although the young man in front of him was neatly dressed, his clothes were not the top-tier luxurious garments of the Imperial Capital, and he was young... As he was about to routinely inquire about his identity and appointment, Mo Yuhan took something out of his storage ring.
It was a badge, about half the size of a palm.
Its material was neither gold nor jade, warm to the touch, and it displayed a deep, dark gold color.
On the front of the badge, an ancient medicine cauldron was vividly embossed, and above its mouth, two silver ripples intertwined and swirled like burning flames. Below the medicine cauldron, two gleaming silver stars were clearly visible.
Alchemist Badge! Second-Rank!
He had not sought a rank after becoming a Third-Rank Alchemist in Canaan Academy, so the highest he had was only a Second-Rank Alchemist badge.
"Please tell Sister Ya Fei that Mo Yuhan is looking for her."
The guard captain's pupils suddenly constricted!
The few guards behind him instantly straightened their bodies, their formal expressions replaced by shock and reverence.
Such a young Second-Rank Alchemist?!
In the sensitive period leading up to the Alchemist Convention, the visit of such a person carried undeniable weight!
"It is the distinguished Alchemist, sir!"
The guard captain's attitude instantly became incredibly respectful, even tinged with a hint of panic. He bowed deeply, "This humble one was blind, please forgive me, sir! Manager Ya Fei had given instructions long ago that if a young sir named Mo Yuhan, wearing a Second-Rank Alchemist badge, came to visit, he must be informed immediately! Sir, please follow me!"
He stepped aside, making a perfectly standard welcoming gesture, and at the same time, he winked at a nearby guard, who immediately turned and sprinted to inform the internal staff of the Headquarters.
Mo Yuhan nodded slightly, put away the badge, but his heart stirred: Sister Ya Fei had indeed been keeping track of his movements, even knowing about his promotion to Second-Rank Alchemist and making arrangements beforehand.
This delicate thoughtfulness warmed his heart.
Stepping inside the crystalline giant tower, a unique scent, a mixture of expensive incense, old paper, and the aroma of money, wafted over him.
The interior space was even grander than it appeared from the outside.
The enormous dome was embedded with countless self-luminous magic crystals, illuminating the entire hall as bright as day.
The floor was paved with dark marble so polished it reflected like a mirror. People flowed through the hall in an orderly manner.
Well-dressed, distinguished merchants, nobles, and mercenary leaders from various regions hurried back and forth, conversing in low tones about enormous transactions.
Waiters and stewards, dressed in the Mittel Family's unified, well-tailored silver-gray uniforms, moved swiftly and efficiently, handling various affairs.
The guard captain respectfully led the way, passing through the busy main hall and entering a relatively quiet inner area.
The decor here was even more luxurious and understated; priceless artworks hung on the walls, and exotic, carefully cultivated plants were placed at the corners of the corridors.
Finally, they stopped before a heavy, purple sandalwood door carved with intricate vine and gold coin patterns.
"Sir, Manager Ya Fei is inside. Please enter."
The guard captain bowed and retreated.
Mo Yuhan took a deep breath, suppressing a strange tremor in his heart, and gently knocked on the door.
"Come in," a familiar voice, lazy yet infinitely charming, as if capable of stirring one's heartstrings, came from within the door.
Mo Yuhan pushed the door open and entered.
The first thing that caught his eye was a massive floor-to-ceiling window that occupied most of the wall.
Outside the window were the bustling streetscapes of the Imperial Capital and a corner of the majestic Imperial Palace in the distance. Sunlight streamed through the specially made magic glass, softly illuminating the room.
The room was furnished both luxuriously and elegantly: an expensive mahogany desk, velvet sofas, and an antique grandfather clock in the corner ticking steadily.
The air was filled with Ya Fei's unique, sweet fragrance, like that of a ripe peach.
And the figure that countless powerful nobles of the Imperial Capital yearned for was currently standing with her back to the door, in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
A fiery, form-fitting long dress outlined her back in a breathtaking manner—a slender waist that could be spanned by a hand, full and rounded hip curves, and through the slit in the skirt, a section of a long, fair leg encased in transparent crystal stockings was faintly visible, gleaming alluringly in the sunlight.
Just a back view was enough to exude boundless Charm and captivate all.
She seemed to be admiring the view outside the window and did not turn around immediately. Mo Yuhan stood quietly at the doorway, his gaze fixed on her cascading, slightly curly dark hair, his heart rate quickening uncontrollably.
A few seconds of silence seemed to stretch on.
Finally, that graceful figure slowly turned, with a deliberate elegance and Charm.
It was still that face that captivated all. Her skin was as white as snow, so delicate it seemed it could break with a touch.
Her willow-like brows were like a painting, and her eyes, as they moved, seemed to hold a spring pool, radiating brilliance with every glance.
Below her shapely nose were full, tempting red lips, currently curved slightly upward, forming an arc that could make any man's blood surge.
Her gaze, as if hooked, landed directly on Mo Yuhan's face, full of smiles, yet unfathomably deep.
"Oh ~" A melodious, teasing, and surprised murmur escaped her red lips, "What wind has blown our top student from Canaan Academy, the renowned Alchemist Mo from the Northwest, to this humble auction house of mine, elder sister?"
She gracefully walked closer, swaying elegantly with every step. Her high heels clicked crisply and rhythmically on the polished floor, like drumming on one's heart.
As she approached, the sweet fragrance of ripe peaches grew stronger, almost drowning him.
She stopped in front of Mo Yuhan, slightly tilted up her naturally charming face, and her watery big eyes gazed at him from close range, her long eyelashes almost brushing his skin.
"Let elder sister have a good look..."
Ya Fei extended her slender, fair fingers, with a warm touch, and very naturally brushed Mo Yuhan's eyebrow, her action as intimate as a lover's caress, "Hmm... You've grown taller and more robust. And your face, it's become even more handsome, the environment of Canaan Academy truly nurtures people."
Her fingertips carried an electric current, causing Mo Yuhan's body to stiffen slightly wherever they touched, and his ears uncontrollably began to burn.
He could clearly see the undisguised admiration in her eyes and a mischievous glint, like a hunter spotting a favorite prey.
"Sister Ya Fei," Mo Yuhan composed himself, trying to keep his voice calm, and a gentle smile also touched his lips, "Long time no see. You... still love to tease people so much."
