93: Galbi, dead
Jia Lie Bi was struck by lightning, his body trembled violently, his eyes widened to their limit, filled with extreme absurdity, disbelief, and bone-deep fear!
That… that nine-year-old little bastard?!
That ant he could crush with a flick of his hand back then, whom he never even put in his eyes?! It was him?!
This overwhelming destruction, this blood debt for his entire family, it all originated from that child he had never looked at properly?!
"No… impossible! He… he's just a kid, how could he…"
Jia Lie Bi muttered to himself in a daze, a tremendous sense of absurdity and regret gnawing at his heart like a venomous snake.
He suddenly remembered Mo Yuhan's identity as an Alchemist, and Sister Ya Fei of the Mittel Auction House… It turned out everything was already destined! That single wrong decision back then had brought about the family's demise!
“There’s nothing impossible about it,” Xiao Zhan’s voice rang out coldly, carrying a complex hint of satisfaction. “Jia Lie Bi, those who commit many injustices will inevitably perish! Your Jia Lie family colluded with the Yunlan Sect, engaged in bullying and market manipulation, and harmed the innocent. Today, this is your retribution!”
"Retribution… retribution… Hahaha… Hahaha!"
Jia Lie Bi suddenly burst into hysterical laughter, his laughter shrill like a night owl's cry, filled with madness and despair, "What a retribution! What a Mo Yuhan! I hate it! I hate that I didn't disregard everything and pulverize you into dust back then—!"
Before the last word "dust" could even fall, a final burst of madness erupted in his eyes, and the remaining Dou Qi in his body ignited wildly like a dying flame, his body inflated like a balloon, and he lunged fiercely towards Xiao Zhan, who was closest to him!
He actually wanted to self-destruct and drag someone down with him!
"Hmph! Death throes!"
A sharp glint flashed in the eyes of the two Elders of the Oba family, and their movements were even faster.
Their figures vanished from where they stood like Gui Mei, and in the next moment, they appeared beside Jia Lie Bi. Two fists, covered in thick, earthy-yellow Dou Qi armor, like giant stone hammers, let out a terrifying shriek that tore through the air. They struck first, arriving after Jia Lie Bi but hitting before his self-destruction, smashing hard and without any fancy moves onto Jia Lie Bi's wildly expanding head!
Bang—!!!
Like a ripe watermelon being smashed by a hammer!
Red, white, viscous liquid mixed with shattered bone fragments exploded like fireworks!
Jia Lie Bi's corpse maintained its forward-charging posture, stumbled forward two more steps, and then crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
The Jia Lie Family patriarch, Jia Lie Bi, was dead!
Both of them simultaneously shook off the filth clinging to their fists, their eyes as cold as ice, as if they had merely crushed a bug.
He turned to look at Ouba Pa and Xiao Zhan: "Two Patriarchs, the rest of the matter will be handled by our two families. As Great Master Mo instructed, leave no one alive! We will clean up thoroughly, and certainly not stain the Great Master's eyes."
Ouba Pa looked at the glaring red and white mess on the ground and nodded slightly: "Mm!"
Xiao Zhan also took a deep breath, suppressing the turmoil in his heart, and responded in a deep voice: "Great Elder, we will also clean up the aftermath together."
The firelight illuminated the Jia Lie Family mansion's final desperate wails and frantic counterattacks, like a painting of hell. But everything was already destined.
As the setting sun completely sank below the horizon, the last shrill scream also abruptly ceased, leaving only the crackling of flames consuming wood and the mournful wail of the wind sweeping through the ruins.
The Jia Lie Family, once a tyrannical and prominent family in Wutan City, was completely reduced to historical dust overnight.
The air was thick with an unshakeable scent of blood and char, announcing the end of an era.
When Mo Yuhan, accompanied by Great Master Gu Ni, stepped through the messy, blood-stained ruins of the Jia Lie family, the battle had long ended.
The people from the Oba family and the Xiao Family were clearing the battlefield, collecting bodies, and transporting valuable assets. Most of these would be submitted to the Mittel Auction House as spoils of war and compensation, and then the auction house would distribute the bounty as agreed.
The strong smell of blood and char in the air made Mo Yuhan frown slightly.
He was not a bloodthirsty person, but as long as the Jia Lie family remained, because of him, there would inevitably be covetousness and threats against his aunt and Sister Ya Fei.
Like a poisonous thorn, it must be uprooted.
This is a World where the strong prey on the weak; being soft-hearted would only lead to greater disaster.
"Great Master Mo!"
Ouba Pa saw Mo Yuhan from afar and immediately scurried over like a pug seeing its master, his face plastered with an extremely fawning smile, his plump body panting from the run.
"Great Master Mo, you've arrived. That old dog Jia Lie Bi has been executed! The entire mansion, as per your instructions, has been cleaned thoroughly, leaving no one alive! Here is the list…"
He held a thick list with both hands, detailing the seized assets, property deeds, and so on.
Xiao Zhan also walked over, his expression complex as he looked at the small figure before him.
Overnight, to overthrow a family—this kind of method and power made even him, the Xiao Family Patriarch, feel a thrill of fear.
"Yu Han… Great Master Mo, the Jia Lie family has been eliminated. The Xiao Family has not failed in its mission." His tone carried a hint of imperceptible reverence.
Mo Yuhan took the list, merely glanced at it, and then handed it to the auction house attendant beside him.
He looked at Ouba Pa and Xiao Zhan, smiled, and said in a calm voice: "Thank you, Patriarch Oba and Patriarch Xiao, for your hard work. The promised elixirs will be sent to your residences by Sister Ya Fei shortly. Great Master Gu Ni will supervise the follow-up matters here."
"Yes! Yes! Thank you, Great Master! Thank you, Great Master!"
Ouba Pa bowed repeatedly, overjoyed.
Xiao Zhan also cupped his hands: "Thank you, Great Master."
Mo Yuhan said no more, turned around, and cast his gaze towards the Mittel Auction House.
The matter here was concluded; he felt little joy of revenge, only a sense of calm as dust settled.
His aunt was still waiting for him, and Little Fairy Doctor was also waiting for him. Canaan Academy was his true starting point.
Mittel Auction House, top floor, Ya Fei's private terrace garden.
The night breeze was gentle, caressing the blooming wisteria, bringing wafts of refreshing floral fragrance. The bright moonlight streamed down, casting a hazy silver glow on Ya Fei's exquisite profile.
She had changed out of her red dress and was wearing an elegant, moon-white flowing cloud brocade gown. She had shed some of her usual charming flamboyance, gaining a touch of serene softness, as she stood quietly beneath the flower trellis, gazing in the direction from which Mo Yuhan would come.
Mo Yuhan’s small figure appeared at the terrace entrance.
In the moonlight, the childishness on his face seemed to have been washed away somewhat, replaced by a maturity that didn't match his age.
"Is it all over?"
Ya Fei turned around, her voice soft, like a whisper under the moon.
"Mm." Mo Yuhan walked up to her, nodded, "It's over."
Ya Fei looked up and realized that, without her noticing, her gaze was almost level with Mo Yuhan's.
If it weren't for the height added by her high heels, she would probably be as tall as Mo Yuhan already.
She extended her slender, fair hand and gently brushed away a barely perceptible speck of dust from Mo Yuhan's forehead.
Moonlight flowed in her charming eyes, rippling with an unresolvable tenderness and reluctance.
"My Yu Han, Younger Brother, has truly grown up."
Her voice carried a hint of imperceptible special emotion, her fingertips cool and faintly fragrant, gently tracing Mo Yuhan's tender yet already firm brows and eyes, "Sister truly doesn't want you to leave."
Mo Yuhan's heart trembled. Looking at the water in Ya Fei's eyes, which was almost overflowing, and her undisguised affection, his nose felt a little sore.
In Wutan City, Sister Ya Fei was the person who treated him best and protected him the most, besides his aunt and Little Fairy Doctor.
