112: The Japanese deity whose defenses were breached

Shen Xiaochuan walked from the direction of the secret room, ascended the high platform, and stood at the edge. The wind was fierce, lifting the hem of his work clothes, and the copper gear hanging from his cuff swayed gently, flashing a faint light in the afterglow of the setting sun. He looked down at his communicator; the screen had just gone dark.

"Brother Shen." Zhou Mingrui ran up the high platform, holding a damaged Formation stone slab in his arms. "Three cracks have appeared on the west side of the Main Hall, and two turrets have lost power. It will take at least two days to fix them."

"Restore the power supply first," Shen Xiaochuan said. "Prioritize repairing five of the nine turrets, and expand the surveillance range to ten miles."

"Understood." Zhou Mingrui nodded and turned to leave.

"Wait." Shen Xiaochuan raised his hand to stop him. "Modify the Formation nodes according to the old blueprints of Skydome City; don't use the original layout. Change the Spiritual Vein interface to a triangular anchoring type."

Zhou Mingrui was taken aback. "Are you afraid they'll follow the energy flow back?"

"It's not that I'm afraid." Shen Xiaochuan looked into the distance. "I want them to think they have a chance and deliver themselves to our door."

Zhou Mingrui asked no more, held the stone slab tightly, and left quickly.

At that moment, Karl ran from the South Gate, his face covered in dust. "The transport team has arrived. The first batch is three hundred people, mostly the elderly and children. The settlement has already been set up."

"Let the people eat first," Shen Xiaochuan said. "Is there hot water?"

"Yes, two boilers in the boiler room have been repaired, which is enough." Karl took a breath. "It's just that some people don't want to move, saying their homes are gone and they don't want to leave."

"Tell them a new home is being built," Shen Xiaochuan's voice was calm. "Dragon City is still here, it's just changed locations."

Karl nodded, wiped his face, and ran out again.

Shen Xiaochuan turned his head toward the North Wall. Yang Lie was leading the people of the Vermilion Bird Legion to transport supplies to the watchtower, their armor clashing with a crisp sound. He placed his hand on the railing, his palm feeling slightly warm. The faith points were still ticking: +1 +1 +1

Stable as a heartbeat.

The communicator suddenly vibrated.

He picked it up, and a line of text appeared on the screen: "Where are you? Are you safe?"

It was sent by the White Snow Princess.

Shen Xiaochuan replied: "In Dragon City, under control."

Two seconds later, the other party replied: "What did you say? Which Dragon City? You've retaken the Kings Domain?!"

He didn't type any more, but directly opened the panoramic projection and clicked send. In the image, a new city stood upon the wasteland, its deep blue flags fluttering in the wind, the gear logo on them clearly visible.

"It's ours now," he added, then closed the communication.

β€”

Three hundred kilometers away, the original site of Dragon City.

The wind blew dust into swirls on the ground. The Japanese troops were stationed in front of the Great Hall, their armor covered in mud. Two Transcendents led them, one in black armor and one in a red robe, with two thousand soldiers standing solemnly behind them, none making a sound.

The man in black armor raised his binoculars and looked aroundβ€”an empty city. The roofs were half-collapsed, the doors were crooked, and only a few pieces of charred paper were rolled along by the wind on the ground.

"Where are the people?" He lowered his binoculars, his tone suddenly harsh.

The man in the red robe crouched down and lightly touched the ground with his fingertips. "There are traces of a space tear, but the energy fluctuations have already dissipated."

"When did this happen?"

"At most, ten minutes ago."

The man in black armor suddenly stood up and kicked over a stone beside him. "Useless! Where's the surveillance? Who was responsible for monitoring the Huaxia Channel?"

A soldier ran over in a panic. "Sir, when we received the news, Dragon City was no longer in its original position."

"Not there?" The man in black armor sneered. "Can a city just fly away on its own?"

"They used a God Domain Migration Scroll," the man in the red robe said, standing up. "At least two of them. A short-distance jump; the landing point should be within three hundred kilometers."

"Investigate!" The man in black armor roared. "Search three hundred miles! Scan all energy signals, in the sky and on the ground!"

No one moved.

The wind was too strong, and the flags flapped loudly.

The Messenger reported in a low voice: "General... the traces have been covered by wind and sand, and the Spiritual Qi has completely dispersed. We can't find it."

"Can't find it?" The man in black armor grabbed him by the collar. "Are you blind or stupid? A whole city disappeared, and you can't even determine the direction?"

The Messenger didn't dare respond.

The man in the red robe stared at the ruins with a gloomy expression and said in a low voice, "Report it first. Shen Xiaochuan dared to touch the Kings Domain; this is an open provocation to the Waguo Divine Domain. The entire nation of Japan will never let this go. He must pay the price."

β€”

The new site of Dragon City, outside the secret room.

Shen Yan sat leaning against the wall, hammer in hand, his eyes fixed on the crack in the door. The door wasn't closed tight, and inside he could see a bed where Tang Long lay, his face pale and his breathing weak. Anna was changing his bandages, her movements extremely light.

The communicator rang.

Shen Yan took it out and looked; it was a message from Karl: "The second batch of residents has arrived. There are many children; we need to arrange housing."

He replied with an "Okay" and put away the communicator.

The door opened a crack, and Anna poked her head out. "He's stabilized for now, but his injuries are too severe. We can only keep him alive with medicine and let him recover slowly."

"Can he wake up?"

"I'm not sure," Anna shook her head. "Right now, he doesn't even have a sense of pain."

Shen Yan nodded. "Then you continue. I'll stay here and watch."

Anna glanced at him and gently closed the door.

β€”

In the Waguo Divine Domain, the Public Channel fell into chaos.

"The Huaxia people dare to seize our Kings Domain?!"

"Shen Xiaochuan must be killed! He killed our generals and occupied our divine land!"

"Assemble immediately! Mobilize the Five Great Legions for a counterattack!"

"Check his Origin! He dared to touch the Japanese Foundation; let his Godhead shatter!"

Messages scrolled past one after another; some people directly posted Challenge Letters, while others organized Believers to perform sacrifices to accelerate their Cultivation.

In a corner, an ID silently took a screenshot to save it, then exited the channel.

β€”

Dragon City's high platform.

Yang Lie walked up the high platform, not yet having removed his armor. "The northern surveillance barrier has been set up, and the Scouting Technique covers ten miles. We can react immediately to any movement."

"Thank you for your hard work," Shen Xiaochuan said.

"It's nothing," Yang Lie smiled. "I just didn't expect you to actually be able to move the entire city."

"The scrolls were prepared long ago." Shen Xiaochuan looked into the distance. "They thought they'd won once they captured it, but in fact, I was calculating the time from the moment I stepped into the Main Hall."

"When Anbei Jinshi died?"

"Earlier than that," Shen Xiaochuan said flatly. "From the moment he erected that 'Eternal Suppression of the East' monument."

Yang Lie didn't ask further. He knew some things didn't need to be said.

He looked up at the sky. "I can finally get a good night's sleep tonight."

"Don't say that too soon." Shen Xiaochuan's gaze didn't move. "They know the city is gone now. Next, they'll either go crazy or prepare a big move. Either way, it won't be quiet for long."

Yang Lie stopped smiling, scratched his head, and then nodded. "Understood. I'll act as if nothing's happening."

"Yes." Shen Xiaochuan finally turned to look at him. "Let them be anxious."

β€”

Late at night.

Zhou Mingrui crouched on the roof of the Main Hall, connecting the last section of the power supply line. Below, Karl led the crowd in taking inventory of the warehouse, as boxes of Ore were moved out and registered.

Shen Xiaochuan stood on the high platform, communicator in hand.

The screen lit up.

The White Snow Princess sent another message: "Are you still alive?"

He raised an eyebrow slightly.

"I just heard that Japan has exploded; they say you seized the Kings Domain. I thought you'd already been surrounded and killed."

Shen Xiaochuan's lips curled up slightly. "Let them curse. The harder they curse, the more it shows they are at their wits' end."

"Are you really not afraid?"

"What is there to fear?" He looked up at the night sky. "They don't even know where I am."

The communicator was silent for a few seconds.

"Shen Xiaochuan." The White Snow Princess's voice lowered. "How is Tang Long?"

"Unconscious."

"Can he survive?"

"I don't know."

Another moment of silence.

"What do you plan to do next?"

"Sleep."

"..."

"I still have to oversee the construction tomorrow." He put the communicator in his pocket and looked up.

The starry sky was brilliant.

The wind blew from the wasteland, and the flags flapped loudly.

He walked to the railing and looked down at the faith points.

The numbers were still ticking: +1 +1 +1

Very stable.
