Chapter 99: arrival
The guy jumped down with heavy metallic shield, shattering the chains that shackled Tyson from behind. The Rangers holding them were thrown backward from with the force."I’m here, Sergeant!" Shaun shouted, positioning himself protectively in front of Tyson, his heavy shield ready to defend his senior.Meanwhile, Bee attempted to mimic the same dramatic entrance from the chopper—only to crash-land miserably on the ground. He groaned, but somehow managed to get up, dusting himself off.
"Me too," Bee said, getting into stance. "You rascals better stay away—he’s my boss!"
The entire battlefield froze, stunned. Tyson was finally free from the shackles. And now, with even a few standing beside him, the Rangers knew—stopping him would be nearly impossible.
Justin’s smug smirk faltered. He looked up.
A chopper hovered above the field, its blades kicking up dust. His hair whipped in the wind as he stared at the figure in the doorway.
Alex.
The big son of the Rager family had arrived.
Alex stood at the chopper’s door, hands in his pockets, a knowing smirk tugging at his lips. The battlefield fell silent—only the thrum of the rotors filled the air. Even Tyson and Nancy looked up.
"Another one?" Tim muttered, shaking his head. "My luck’s running low."
Tyson’s team regrouped beside him. All eyes were on Alex as he finally jumped down, landing near Justin and the Ranger who had been trying to drag him away.
Tyson stared at his brother, uncertain. Was he a friend... or foe?
The Ranger quickly stepped back. Dealing with Tyson was already a nightmare—but Alex? His presence alone made most people flinch. And more than that, he was the legitimate biological son of the General.
----
Edward watched quietly from his office room, expression unreadable. What would Alex do? Support his brother... or follow orders?
He knew Alex had never liked taking orders. But he also understood the grave consequences of Justin’s death. And it wasn’t like Tyson and Alex had ever been close.
Barnes and Sam observed intently. Everyone held their breath.
Because if Alex chose to stand with Tyson, no one on the field could stop them- not even all the sergeants in the entire area. Justin’s fate was now in their hands.
---
Alex slowly walked up to Justin. "You’ve got some nerve, barging into my city."
Justin stayed quiet, watching Alex approach with his hands still cuffed tightly. "That’s right. It was a mistake," he said. "Now what? I surrender."
Alex didn’t answer. His gaze scanned the battlefield, unreadable.
"I surrender. Take me in," Justin repeated, a smirk curling at the corner of his lips. He glanced at Tyson. "What’s it gonna be? You gonna do your duty, or just play dress-up like your brother?"
Alex turned to him, cold. "He’s not my brother." Then, to the Ranger beside him "Take him to the chopper. We’re leaving."
Justin winked at Nancy as the Ranger began escorting him toward the landing chopper, which was touching down on the safer side of the highway.
She flinched. That wink—he wasn’t afraid. He didn’t fear arrest. He was planning something.
"We’ll meet again, Nancy," Justin shouted. "Soon."
Suddenly—a sword plunged into the ground right beside Justin, forcing both him and the Ranger to stumble back.
Tyson had thrown it. His voice echoed across the now-silent field "You’ll leave when I say so."
All eyes shifted to Tyson. Tim and the others froze, tension climbing as Alex stopped in his tracks and slowly turned back.
"Really, Tyson?" Alex smirked. "You wanna do this?"
Shaun hesitated. This wasn’t what he expected. He thought bringing Alex would support Tyson—but now it felt like everything was unraveling.
Tyson stepped forward, his helmet retracting with a hiss. "I should be asking you that, Alex."His eyes locked with his brother’s. "Do you really think you can save him?"
The battlefield held its breath. The electricity between the brothers was nearly tangible—a storm about to break.
"Getting cocky now?" Alex said. "Oh, I get it. Is it because of those seven measly points, huh?"
Tyson’s face hardened as he moved toward his sword. "Cut the crap. I know you’ve been dying for this fight, you asshole. But this time— I’m not holding back."
"Good." Alex tapped his red watch. His armor—sleek and deadly in red and black—formed over his body in a flash. "Come get him, Tyson. If you win, his head is yours."
Nancy wanted to stop him but He was already sprinting toward his sword—toward Justin.
Tim sat down on a chunk of debris, shaking his head. "Thank God I’m not part of that mess."
Alex casually stepped back and kicked the sword into the air. Tyson leaped, catching it mid-air, crashing it down to meet Alex’s katana.
CLANG!
Tyson didn’t stop.
He twisted his wrist and sent a series of brutal slashes toward Alex—fast, wild, angry. The force cracked the pavement beneath their feet, their nano-armors taking the brunt of the shock. Alex blocked each strike, barely. Each impact sent shockwaves through the air, ringing through the battlefield like thunder.
Alex ducked, slid under a vertical slash, and countered with a high-speed katana swing that carved a line of scorched metal across Tyson’s Metal armor. His armor sparked, and then nanoparticles began sealing it up.
He turned with a spin, slamming the flat side of his blade into Alex’s ribs and sending him flying into the wreckage of an old vehicle. Metal crunched, dust rose. For a split second, Alex was buried.
Tyson turned again, sword raised—heading straight for Justin. Justine’s eyes widened for a moment, but then a blur of red cut him off.
Alex was already back.
He surged forward, armor-repairing mid-motion, slashing low with surgical precision. Tyson grunted as the katana sliced across his thigh plates, but Tyson answered with a gut punch that was so strong that it lifted Alex off his feet.
They weren’t fighting like soldiers. They were fighting like monsters while other watched with awe.
Alex grabbed Tyson’s wrist mid-swing and headbutted him immediately with a smirk. "Keep it coming!"
Tyson stumbled back momentarily, gritting his teeth. "I will freaking Kill him today"
"You won’t," Alex said. "Not until you push past me."
Tyson threw his sword straight at Alex’s head—but Alex tilted, let it fly past, then grabbed it mid-air by the hilt and threw it back. Tyson caught it without looking and rushed forward again as they engaged in close combat.
Justin watched from a distance, cuffed and unmoving, yet still wearing that smug grin. He made them fight, just as he had planned. He hoped the result would end with someone’s death, and Tyson should be the one to die.
After a few minutes, both stood huffing, yet Tyson could tell there was a smirk beneath Alex’s face. He was enjoying the battle while keeping him away from Justin all this time.
"Whitey," Tyson muttered, never breaking eye contact with Alex. "Is there anything you can do to distract this asshole for a moment?"
The meta-bot blinked—once. Affirmative.
Tyson grinned. "Let’s go, then. Our target is Justin. No matter what."
He dashed forward, trusting his meta-bot.
Alex moved instantly, his katana coming in fast—a brutal horizontal slice aimed at Tyson’s shoulder. But— Tyson retracted his armor. Completely.
Alex’s eyes widened behind the helmet. "What the—?"
With a shocked grunt, Alex yanked his blade off-course at the last second, the katana missing flesh by millimeters as Tyson slipped past him, unarmored, exposed, charging like a madman toward Justin.
Tyson stumbled, barely keeping his footing—but he didn’t stop. He was too surprised and panicked by the distraction. What the hell was that? Is this what Whitey called distraction? He almost got stabbed to death.
Alex froze. "What the hell did he just do..."
The entire battlefield paused. The Rangers, the cadets, even the General and captains inside the office room.
Tyson, the wild bastard, had dropped his protection at the precise moment of impact. He would have gotten hurt if Alex hadn’t adjusted—a fatal move or perhaps a distraction. A gamble. It was a strategy so reckless it bordered on insanity.
Nancy gasped, one hand over her mouth. She couldn’t bear to look.
Lara watched, her eyes fixed on Tyson, breath held.
This was more than a fight with his brother for Tyson. It was revenge for everything Justin did, all the pain and trauma she had to go through because of him. Tyson was going to make sure he felt it too.
"We Are never doing that again," Tyson mumbled as he dashed toward Justin, who now stumbled back, seeing Tyson without armor or hesitation.
"W-wait. You can’t kill me-"
A punch brutally landed on his face, causing him to stumble further in pain. Tyson had enough and now Justin was finally in Tysons gasp, his fate was in Tyson’s hand.
