43: Selling pills

After leaving his room, Zhou Luo first observed the surrounding environment, and only after discovering that there was no one around did he feel relieved and walk downstairs.

The person responsible for monitoring him was a member of the Lin Family, and since they had to eat, they would inevitably be on the fifth floor.

Unlike the fourth floor, the fifth floor was divided into two parts. One part was a lobby area similar to the first and second floors, where the conflict between the Lin Family and the Lu Family in Panshi City had taken place.

The other part consisted of small, independent rooms reinforced by a Formation, offering better concealment than the fourth floor.

To better monitor Zhou Luo, that person was sitting in the lobby eating.

However, he did not notice that Zhou Luo, wearing a black robe, had already left; after all, in his imagination, the other party was busy galloping on horseback.

After walking out of the Tianxia Tavern and crossing three streets, Zhou Luo arrived at the Lin Family's marketplace.

This was the largest market in Maple Leaf City, gathering various industries and appearing even more prosperous than the Department Pavilion within the Family.

Both ordinary people and Cultivators would come here to buy or sell things.

Originally, Zhou Luo only intended to sell the First-Order High Grade Medicinal Pill in his hand, but seeing how large the marketplace was, he couldn't help but think of the First-Order Top-Grade Medicinal Pill he had previously refined in his inventory slot.

If he could sell it here, he might make a fortune.

After observing for a while, Zhou Luo finally selected a relatively large Medicinal Pill shop.

Inside the shop, a busy clerk saw Zhou Luo appear and immediately greeted him with a smile: "Distinguished guest, what would you like to purchase?"

"I am here to sell things," Zhou Luo's low, hoarse voice rang out.

Hearing that it was to sell Medicinal Pills, the clerk immediately made a gesture of invitation: "Please come inside, guest."

Arriving at the back hall, the clerk led Zhou Luo to a small room.

"Elder Zong, someone wishes to sell Medicinal Pills," the clerk said respectfully.

"Come in," an aged voice came from inside.

Only then did the clerk push open the door: "Guest, please enter."

After Zhou Luo entered the room, the clerk carefully closed the door.

In the room, an old man was sitting at a table made of red pine, looking at Zhou Luo with a serious expression.

Zhou Luo had seen this old man before.

Back then, for the battle on the front lines, he had gathered with the Family's Alchemist in Shouchun Garden to refine Medicinal Pills, and this old man was one of them.

The other party seemed to be a First-Order High-Grade Alchemist, with strength second only to Lin Zhishou, but he was older and likely only had a dozen or so years of life left.

"Sit," the old man said indifferently.

Zhou Luo sat down and decisively took out a bottle of Medicinal Pills, handing it over.

The old man picked up the Medicinal Pills, poured them into his palm, brought the ten pills before his eyes, and began to observe them carefully.

After a long while, the old man put the Medicinal Pills back into the jade bottle and said indifferently: "These are indeed First-Order High Grade Medicinal Pills, but they have some flaws. This shop can offer eight Spirit Stones."

Zhou Luo remained silent, but sneered inwardly.

The quality of these ten Medicinal Pills was clearly High Grade; the other party was obviously deliberately driving down the price.

Furthermore, eight Spirit Stones for one was much lower than last time in Panshi City.

He decisively picked up the jade bottle and made a move to stand up.

Seeing this, a trace of panic flashed across the old man's aged face, and he hurriedly tried to dissuade him: "Wait a moment, I can give you nine Spirit Stones."

"Twelve," Zhou Luo said in an unquestionable tone.

"Impossible," the old man immediately refused.

Zhou Luo did not speak; he stood up and walked toward the outside.

"Ten, no more than that," the old man said, also standing up behind him.

"Eleven. If you don't agree, I'll leave right now," Zhou Luo said lightly.

The old man's expression was complex, and he finally sighed: "Fine."

In the end, Zhou Luo obtained one hundred and ten ordinary Spirit Stones.

Originally, he had wanted to sell the First-Order Top-Grade Medicinal Pill, but he ultimately gave up on the idea.

Because he had just sensed a faint aura in the shop, an aura that was very powerful and extremely oppressive.

It was likely a Cultivator used by the Lin Family to protect the shop.

The black robe he was wearing was just ordinary clothing and could not block the investigation of a powerhouse.

If he had really taken out the First-Order Top-Grade Medicinal Pill, he would likely have been exposed very easily.

After much thought, Zhou Luo ultimately left the shop with the one hundred and some Spirit Stones.

Just as he expected, after he left, a Cultivator immediately walked out of the shop and followed him silently.

Zhou Luo had been prepared for this.

He did not stop; after crossing a street, he suddenly turned and ducked into an alley.

That Cultivator did not hesitate and immediately followed.

But just as he turned the corner, a large cloud of green mist suddenly appeared in front of him.

In the next second, the green mist was inhaled into the other party's nostrils, and within just a few seconds, his vision went black, and he collapsed to the ground.

Zhou Luo glanced at him and left the alley.

Sure enough, his choice was correct.

When the other party realized that he only had the cultivation of Qi Cultivation Stage 2, they would certainly be overconfident, and at the same time, they would not expect him to be a master of poison.

Fortunately, he had only sold First-Order High Grade Medicinal Pills; if it had been a Top-Grade one, the other party would likely have attacked on the spot and not given him the chance to use poison.

It was just a pity about the First-Order High Grade poison mist he had just refined.

Returning to the Tianxia Tavern, as soon as Zhou Luo appeared on the eighth floor, he noticed someone standing behind a pillar not far from his room, silently observing.

It seemed this person was the guy the Family had arranged to monitor him.

His gaze darkened slightly, and his right hand took a jade bottle with a wooden stopper from his bosom.

There was still a little bit of the previous poison mist left, and he intended to repeat the same trick.

He deliberately walked past, and the moment he approached the person, he flicked the wooden stopper open with his thumb, and a faint green mist drifted out.

That Cultivator was not of a high Realm to begin with, and by the time he realized what was happening, his consciousness was already dimming; he couldn't react in time and collapsed to the ground.

Zhou Luo looked around, and after discovering that no one had noticed, he walked toward his room.

Pushing the door open and entering directly, the noise immediately woke Bai Zhiyan, who was lying on the bed sleeping.

Her body jolted, and she hurriedly lifted the quilt, looking toward the door with a vigilant expression.

When she saw it was Zhou Luo, she heaved a sigh of relief.

Back in the room, Zhou Luo poured a cup of water, drank it in one gulp, and then looked at her and said: "You can leave in a while."

The amount of green poison mist was very small, and he estimated that the guy would have to sleep for about ten minutes; only after he woke up and left himself would he not be suspected.

At this moment, Bai Zhiyan had already gotten up from the bed and walked in front of Zhou Luo.

She was wearing a jade-green ru-skirt, with a curvaceous figure that didn't look like that of a young girl at all.

Sitting next to Zhou Luo, she asked with a somewhat dim expression: "Where can I go?"

"The world is vast, where can you not go? Where is your home?" Zhou Luo asked, having nothing to do while waiting.

"Lianyun City," Bai Zhiyan said.

Zhou Luo had never heard of this name and did not know where it was, so he asked in confusion: "Is it far from Maple Leaf City?"

"I don't know, I've never heard of this place," Bai Zhiyan said with a bewildered expression.

Zhou Luo was slightly shocked in his heart.

She hadn't even heard of a massive city like Maple Leaf City; could this young girl have been abducted from a very distant place?

Thinking of this, Zhou Luo took out two ordinary Spirit Stones and placed them on the table: "After you leave here, you can ask passersby."

Looking at those two Spirit Stones, Bai Zhiyan's eyes turned red again; she looked up at Zhou Luo with a pitiful and helpless expression.

"Can you take me home?"
