8: Become a Cultivator

The Lin Family's Spirit Vein Blessed Land was located near the Core Area and consisted of countless buildings.

Looking down from above, it somewhat resembled a Bagua Formation.

In the very center was where the Spiritual Vein was located; cultivating here for one day was equivalent to a year of ordinary cultivation.

However, only members of the Main Family were allowed to enter; aside from them, some geniuses of the Family who performed exceptionally might also obtain the qualification to enter.

Of course, for matrilocal sons-in-law like Zhou Luo, it was definitely impossible.

They could only Cultivate in the outermost buildings.

Although it was far from the Spiritual Vein, it was still much faster than ordinary cultivation.

Before long, Zhou Luo appeared in front of a building named "Kan".

To his surprise, he actually saw two acquaintances here.

One was Xu Changsheng, and the other was Zhang Da Ben, who harbored hostility toward him.

Upon seeing Zhou Luo, Zhang Da Ben, who had been chatting and laughing, immediately stiffened. He raised his voice without concealment, "Hmph, a lowest-rank Spiritual Root coming here to Cultivate is simply a waste. Better to give the opportunity to someone else."

Facing the mockery, Zhou Luo smiled without a word, his gaze merely falling on the bundle the other was carrying on his back.

This cultivation session on the Spiritual Vein would last for a month. Naturally, no one would waste a single moment, so almost everyone had brought their daily necessities, intending to stay for the full month.

He was deep in thought.

"Zhou Luo, long time no see."

At this moment, Xu Changsheng walked over with a smile and said.

Zhou Luo withdrew his gaze and nodded in acknowledgment, "Long time no see."

Just as the two finished greeting each other, Lin Fu appeared on the scene.

He scanned the crowd with an indifferent expression and began explaining the rules here.

In the Spirit Vein Blessed Land, each area was determined from the start, and no one was allowed to change places privately.

"Steward Lin, is it possible if both parties voluntarily exchange?"

From the crowd, Zhou Luo suddenly asked.

"What an idiot."

Hearing this, Zhang Da Ben's face showed a hint of mockery, and he cursed secretly in his heart.

Since they had come to the Spirit Vein Blessed Land, everyone naturally hoped to be closer to the inside.

Who would voluntarily give up their good position?

If it were the same position, there was even less need to change.

In Zhang Da Ben's eyes, Zhou Luo, who could ask such a question, simply had something wrong with his brain.

In front, Lin Fu glanced at Zhou Luo and said coldly, "Of course."

Zhou Luo nodded slightly.

That's good, then the plan can proceed.

"Does anyone else have questions?" Lin Fu asked again.

Seeing that no one spoke, he proceeded to announce the cultivation areas and rooms for the dozen or so people present.

Unsurprisingly, Zhou Luo and the others, who had previously been placed in the high-quality category, were assigned rooms further inside.

As for people like Zhang Da Ben, they were in the outermost rooms.

This naturally caused their dissatisfaction.

But there was nothing they could do.

After the allocation was complete, everyone passed through the Formation in order and entered this single-story building.

Just as the Bagua diagram showed, the rooms in the building were arranged horizontally, with ten Cultivation Rooms per row separated by a corridor in the middle, arranged sequentially inward until reaching the Core Area.

Zhou Luo's Cultivation Room was in the second row, and by pure coincidence, it was right behind Zhang Da Ben's Cultivation Room.

After glancing around the room, he suddenly stepped out and headed straight for Zhang Da Ben's room.

At this moment, Zhang Da Ben was taking out his daily necessities. He was startled by the sudden intrusion.

"What do you want to do?"

Upon seeing it was Zhou Luo, Zhang Da Ben's face darkened, thinking the other was there to pick a fight.

Zhou Luo scanned the room, his gaze lingering on a water cup on the table for half a second, then he smiled and said, "I've been thinking about it, and I think you're right."

As he spoke, he quietly approached the table.

"What do you mean?" Zhang Da Ben frowned.

"You're right, my Nine-Rank Spiritual Root is a waste of time cultivating here. How about this, I'm willing to exchange rooms with you, as long as you don't oppose me in the future," Zhou Luo said, intentionally acting soft.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Da Ben was immediately somewhat moved.

But on second thought, he felt something was wrong.

I mocked him like that; how could this guy still be willing to exchange rooms?

He looked suspiciously at Zhou Luo, who was already leaning against the table, and suddenly sneered, "Heh, are you trying to plot against me?"

"I'm not," Zhou Luo spread his hands with an innocent expression.

"Don't be a hypocrite; I won't believe you."

Zhang Da Ben had a confident look of not falling for it, completely unaware that while Zhou Luo was making the hand-spreading gesture, he had smoothly dropped a small red pill he was holding between his fingers into the water cup.

"I'm serious, otherwise why would I have asked Steward Lin about the exchange earlier?" Zhou Luo said with feigned earnestness.

"Hmph, get out. I'm not exchanging with you."

Zhang Da Ben was getting impatient. With a low shout, he directly began chasing him out.

"Suit yourself then." Zhou Luo shook his head slightly and left the room looking regretful.

Once Zhou Luo left, Zhang Da Ben revealed a smile.

"You really think I'm stupid? There must be something fishy about that room. Trying to plot against me? No way!" As he spoke, he walked to the table, picked up the water cup, and took a big gulp.

"Trying to fight me? You're still too green."

On the other side, Zhou Luo returned to his Cultivation Room with a smile on his face.

He had been thinking about how to test the poison he had refined on a person, and unexpectedly, Zhang Da Ben had jumped right out.

Just right, he would see this time if this "Spirit Exhaustion Pill" also worked on humans.

He withdrew his thoughts.

Only then did he walk to the stone platform in the room, sat cross-legged on it, and began to Cultivate.

As soon as he began cultivating, Zhou Luo suddenly discovered that the speed of Spiritual Qi absorption here was at least ten times faster than the outside world.

Cultivating here for one day was equivalent to ten days of cultivation outside.

And this was only the outer perimeter's Second Level; if it were the innermost Core Area, Zhou Luo couldn't even imagine the speed.

No wonder everyone was scrambling to come to the Spirit Vein Blessed Land to Cultivate.

This Spirit Vein Blessed Land was simply worlds apart from the outside world.

It was just a pity there was only one month.

With no time for further thought and not wanting to waste time, Zhou Luo immediately focused his mind and began to Cultivate.

...

In the blink of an eye, a month passed.

"I've finally broken through to the Qi Training First Level."

In the Cultivation Room, Zhou Luo, dressed in a white long robe, suddenly opened his eyes, his clear pupils flashing with a hint of joy.

With the boost from the Spirit Vein Blessed Land, he had finally absorbed enough Spiritual Qi to completely shed his status as an ordinary person and become an Immortal.

Although it was only the Qi Training First Level, it gave Zhou Luo plenty of motivation.

With the System and his long lifespan, given time, wouldn't he become a true Immortal?

At this thought, Zhou Luo was extremely excited.

However, at the thought that he was about to leave this excellent place of cultivation, a shadow of gloom flashed across Zhou Luo's face.

Once back in the outside world, he didn't know how long it would take to progress further.

He stood up helplessly, tidied his clothes, and walked out of the Cultivation Room.

Passing by Zhang Da Ben's room, he suddenly remembered something and took a deliberate look inside.

But the guy actually wasn't there.

It seemed he had already left.

He didn't know how effective that "Spirit Exhaustion Pill" was; he would have to inquire about it after heading out.
