63: Jiang Caixuan's service

The moonlight was like water, cascading into the courtyard and draping a thin veil over the world. Jiang Caixuan stood under the corridor, her head slightly lowered, her fingers unconsciously twisting the hem of her skirt. Her heart beat rapidly, as if a small deer were crashing around in her chest. She had never imagined that on such a night, she would put on a lace camisole dress like this to embrace a brand-new identity.

Qin Yao stood by her side, her gaze gentle and firm. She lightly patted the back of Cai Xuan's hand, her voice soft as a breeze: "Don't be afraid, Cai Xuan. Husband is a gentle person; he will treat you well."

Cai Xuan raised her head, her eyes carrying a hint of confusion and shyness. "But... am I really ready?" Her voice was so soft it was almost inaudible, as if she were asking herself, yet also as if she were asking Qin Yao.

Qin Yao smiled and reached out to straighten the lace trim on Cai Xuan's shoulder. "You are already very beautiful, Cai Xuan. This dress suits you well; the white makes you look even purer, like a Fairy under the moonlight. Husband will surely like it."

Cai Xuan's cheeks flushed slightly as she looked down at the white lace dress she was wearing. The hem swayed gently with the night breeze, like clouds floating in the night sky. Her fingers lightly brushed over the lace on the hem, the texture delicate and soft. Her heart felt a bit apprehensive, yet she also harbored a faint sense of anticipation.

"Let's go," Qin Yao took Cai Xuan's hand, "everyone is waiting for us."

Cai Xuan nodded and allowed Qin Yao to lead her toward Ye Wen's courtyard. Her steps felt light, as if she were walking on clouds. The image of Ye Wen constantly surfaced in her mind—the man whose woman she was about to become. His smile was gentle, his gaze deep, as if he could see through to her heart. Cai Xuan's heart beat even faster.

The atmosphere in the courtyard was quiet and peaceful, with moonlight spilling onto the bluestone floor, reflecting a sheet of silvery white. The flowers and grass in the courtyard swayed gently in the night breeze, emitting a faint fragrance. Cai Xuan took a deep breath, trying to calm her emotions. She knew that tonight would be one of the most important moments of her life.

Qin Yao led Cai Xuan into an exquisitely decorated room. Several soft candles were lit inside, their light reflecting on the walls and casting mottled shadows. In the center of the room lay a soft bed, covered with silk bedding embroidered with delicate patterns. A faint scent of sandalwood permeated the air, making one feel peaceful and at ease.

"Cai Xuan, wait here for a moment," Qin Yao said softly, "Husband will be here soon."

Cai Xuan nodded and sat on the edge of the bed, her hands tightly clutching her skirt. Her heart beat faster and faster, as if it were about to jump out of her chest. Ye Wen's figure kept appearing in her mind—his smile, his gaze, his voice... her cheeks grew hotter and hotter, as if they were being burned by fire.

As the minutes passed, Cai Xuan felt her breathing become increasingly hurried. She didn't know if she was truly ready, but she knew there was no turning back. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

Just then, a slight sound of footsteps came from outside the door. Cai Xuan's heart tightened instantly; she knew that Ye Wen had arrived.

The door was pushed open gently, and Ye Wen walked in. He was wearing a plain white robe, his sleeves fluttering as if he were an Immortal stepped out of a painting. His gaze was gentle and deep, and when it fell upon Cai Xuan, it seemed to carry a hint of pity and doting.

"Cai Xuan," Ye Wen called out softly, his voice like a spring breeze brushing past her ear, "you are very beautiful tonight."

Cai Xuan's cheeks were instantly stained with a layer of crimson. She lowered her head, not daring to look directly into Ye Wen's eyes. "Saint..." Her voice was so soft it was almost inaudible.

Ye Wen walked to Cai Xuan's side and gently took her hand. His hand was warm and powerful, as if it could transmit endless strength to her. "Don't be afraid, Cai Xuan," Ye Wen's voice was gentle and firm, "I will treat you well. From now on, you can just call me Husband."

Cai Xuan raised her head and looked into Ye Wen's eyes. His gaze was filled with tenderness and pity, as if telling her that everything would be alright. Cai Xuan's heart gradually calmed down, and she nodded gently.

Ye Wen smiled slightly and reached out to gently stroke Cai Xuan's cheek. His fingers were warm and soft, as if he were caressing a precious treasure. "Cai Xuan, starting from tonight, you are my woman." Ye Wen's voice was low and gentle, carrying a hint of unquestionable firmness.

Cai Xuan's heart trembled violently, and a flash of shyness and anticipation appeared in her eyes. She knew that from tonight on, her life would enter a brand-new chapter. She gently closed her eyes and allowed Ye Wen to pull her into his embrace.

Moonlight spilled into the room through the window lattice, illuminating the two of them. Their figures intertwined in the moonlight, as if merging into one. A faint fragrance permeated the air, as if blessing their union.

Cai Xuan's heart gradually calmed down as she felt Ye Wen's warmth and strength. She knew she was no longer alone. From tonight on, she would walk hand-in-hand with him for the rest of her life.

As the night deepened, the moonlight, like water, spilled onto the bluestone floor in the courtyard, reflecting a sheet of silvery white. Jiang Caixuan leaned in Ye Wen's arms, feeling his warm body temperature and steady heartbeat. Her cheeks still bore a faint blush, but the tension and unease in her heart had gradually dissipated, replaced by an unprecedented sense of peace and satisfaction.

Ye Wen gently stroked Cai Xuan's long hair, his fingertips passing through her soft strands with gentle and delicate movements. His gaze fell on her profile, his eyes full of pity and doting. "Cai Xuan," he whispered, his voice as soft as the night breeze, "from now on, you are my woman."

Cai Xuan raised her head and looked into Ye Wen's eyes. His gaze was deep and gentle, as if he could see through her heart. She nodded gently, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly into a shy smile. "Husband, I will accompany you well."

Ye Wen smiled slightly and reached out to gently stroke Cai Xuan's cheek. His fingers were warm and powerful, as if conveying a silent promise. "Cai Xuan, as long as you are willing to stay by my side and bear children for me, I can guarantee that you won't regret tonight's decision."

A warm current surged in Cai Xuan's heart, and she leaned gently against Ye Wen's shoulder. "Husband, I believe you."

The two sat in an embrace, the candlelight in the room reflecting on them and casting mottled shadows. A faint scent of sandalwood filled the air, making one feel peaceful and at ease. The moonlight from outside spilled through the window lattice into the room, as if draping a silver veil over the new couple.

Time flowed quietly, and the night grew even deeper. Cai Xuan leaned in Ye Wen's arms, listening to his heartbeat and feeling his warmth. Her heart was filled with peace and happiness, as if the whole world had gone quiet, leaving only the two of them.

"It's late, Cai Xuan," Ye Wen whispered softly into Cai Xuan's ear.

Hearing Ye Wen's whisper, Cai Xuan said shyly in a low voice, "Then let Cai Xuan serve you, Husband."
