87: They are all lovely daughters

He then returned the child to Ji Ziyue's arms.

"She bit me," said Ji Ziyue, looking at Ye Wen who had just released her mouth, her expression pitiful.

"Then teach her. Our child isn't an ordinary child, you silly girl," said Ye Wen, gently tapping Ji Ziyue's head with his hand.

"Don't tap my head, I'll blame you if I become stupid," said Ji Ziyue, swatting away Ye Wen's hand with one hand, then looking down at the daughter in her arms.

Finally, with great care, she let the baby suckle again.

Perhaps having just heard her father Ye Wen's words, this time the child suckled very gently, causing Ji Ziyue no pain.

"I've chosen the child's name. She will be called Ye Nianyue," said Ye Wen, reaching out to pinch Ziyue's cheek. Then, despite her dissatisfied look, he kissed her.

After releasing Ziyue, he said, "You just focus on feeding our child. I'll come see you both tomorrow. Get plenty of rest." Having said this, Ye Wen turned and left.

Watching Ye Wen leave, Ji Ziyue pouted and looked at the daughter in her arms.

"Eat, eat, eat, all you know is eating. Hurry up and eat, otherwise your father will eat it all tomorrow and you'll have nothing left," said Ji Ziyue, holding her daughter tighter, then having the maidservant help tuck in the blankets.

She needed to rest too; giving birth was so exhausting.

Ye Wen left Ziyue's room and went next door to her Older Female Cousin's room.

The scent of calming incense drifted in Ji Biyue's room. She was humming a nursery rhyme she learned as a child. The infant, nestled in its mother's arms, suckled at her breast, appearing very peaceful as its mother hummed.

When Ye Wen entered and saw such a tranquil scene, he instinctively walked softly, afraid of disturbing this beautiful picture.

"Husband," said Ji Biyue upon seeing Ye Wen, stopping her humming.

Her face radiant with maternal warmth, she gestured for Ye Wen to come over and hold their daughter.

"Mm," Ye Wen replied, carefully moving to sit beside Ji Biyue, then taking the child from her arms.

Looking at his daughter, who had left her mother's embrace and could no longer nurse, her adorable little expression made Ye Wen unable to suppress a laugh.

"I've already chosen the child's name. Taking the character 'Bi' from your name, she will be Ye Xibi. That is our child's name," said Ye Wen, gently returning the daughter to Ji Biyue so she could continue nursing.

"Xibi? How lovely," said Ji Biyue softly, gently stroking her suckling daughter.

"You've worked hard. Get plenty of rest. I'll come see you tomorrow," said Ye Wen, kissing Ji Biyue on the cheek. Then, instructing the maidservant to care for the mother and child, he quietly withdrew from the room.

After leaving Ji Biyue's room, Ye Wen went to the Phoenix's room.

Before even entering, Ye Wen heard crying coming from inside.

After the maidservant opened the door, Ye Wen stepped inside.

Upon entering, he saw the Phoenix's birthing chamber in complete disarray. The Phoenix paced the room holding a wailing infant, her vermilion-gold hairpin swaying into a blur: "Cry any more and I'll throw you to your daddy!"

Seeing the Phoenix handling the child like this, Ye Wen's face darkened.

"Phoenix," Ye Wen called out softly.

The Phoenix, who had been pacing, immediately stopped at his call.

The moment she turned, she bumped into Ye Wen's chest.

"You just gave birth. What are you doing running around the room holding the child? The child is crying from hunger. What were you doing?" Ye Wen looked at the Phoenix with a headache.

He then led her back to the bedside and had the Phoenix lie down.

Ye Wen personally placed their daughter into the Phoenix's arms and even undid the Phoenix's bodice himself so the newborn could have her first taste of breast milk.

Hearing his daughter cry so loudly, Ye Wen knew the Phoenix was an unreliable mother who didn't even know how to feed her child.

A maidservant nearby quickly said, "Saint, we have taught the Phoenix Mistress, but she insisted on doing this." Two maidservants dressed in black stockings and maid uniforms hurriedly explained.

Listening to their explanation, Ye Wen looked at the Phoenix with a dark expression. "What's going on?"

Under Ye Wen's stare, the Phoenix instantly became meek. "I... I was thinking of saving some for you. You liked drinking it so much before, so I thought I'd save some for you first, then feed the child."

Hearing the Phoenix's words, Ye Wen's face darkened even further.

The two maidservants nearby couldn't help but cover their mouths and laugh.

"You fool, this is your child. You need to feed her first before anything else. And when did I ever say I liked drinking your... your..." Ye Wen glanced at the Phoenix's ample bosom and couldn't finish the sentence.

"Alright, just feed our child first, then rest. I'll come see you tomorrow. By the way, our child's name is Ye Qihuang."

Having said this, Ye Wen quickly got up and left. He felt if he didn't leave, a scene of competing with the child might occur.

Ye Wen hastily left the Phoenix's room and went to Fairy Zixia's room.

A faint scent of lotus floated in Zixia's room. As soon as Ye Wen entered, he saw the infant playing with the hair ribbon that had fallen from her mother's hair.

Seeing Ye Wen arrive, Zixia revealed a gentle smile and said, "Husband, look how well-behaved our child is." Zixia pointed to the child playing in her arms.

"Mm, I see," said Ye Wen with a smile, coming to Zixia's side, sitting down, and pulling her into his embrace.

Amidst Zixia's shyness, he kissed her a few times, then played with the daughter in her arms.

"Husband, have you thought of a name for our child?" Zixia looked up at Ye Wen. This was her first child, and the name needed to be given by her father.

"Ye Wanxia, meaning 'to hold onto the beautiful scenery of the morning glow,'" said Ye Wen, lightly stroking Zixia's cheek as he spoke the child's name.

"Ye Wanxia? A very beautiful name. Husband, you're so good at naming," said Zixia, very fond of the name, especially since it contained a character from her own name. This made Zixia extremely happy.

"I'm glad you like it. Come, give me a kiss," said Ye Wen, pointing to his own cheek, making Zixia very bashful. However, Zixia ultimately took the initiative to kiss him.

After receiving his wife's kiss, Ye Wen returned several kisses to her.

"Alright, I must leave now. Get plenty of rest. I'll come see you tomorrow," said Ye Wen, kissing Zixia's cheeks a few more times before getting up to leave.

Ye Wen arrived at Jiang Caixuan's room.

As soon as he entered, he saw Jiang Caixuan blushing as she avoided the infant's little mouth searching for milk. Seeing Ye Wen come in, she hurriedly covered herself with the brocade quilt: "Y-you, don't look..." But the little one in her arms kicked open the swaddling clothes, revealing eyes and brows identical to her father's.

Seeing Jiang Caixuan's actions, Ye Wen's face darkened. "Cai Xuan, you're not like the Phoenix, are you? Why are you hiding from the child? Hurry up and feed her." Ye Wen's words made Jiang Caixuan's face flush red. "Then, husband... you should Avoid (avoid for a moment), I'd be too shy."

"What's there to be shy about? We're an old married couple. Don't let our child go hungry," said Ye Wen, coming to Jiang Caixuan's side and directly positioning their daughter so she could suckle.

Seeing Ye Wen like this, Jiang Caixuan's face turned extremely red, but she didn't say anything.

"Ye Caixuan. For our child, we can just add your name to my surname," said Ye Wen, looking at his happily nursing daughter with a smile.

Seeing the shy, blushing Jiang Caixuan, Ye Wen had no choice but to embrace her, cover her face with his hands, and then kiss her.

After kissing for a while, he said, "Still shy?" Looking at Jiang Caixuan, who lowered her head shyly, Ye Wen laughed.

Then he bid farewell to Jiang Caixuan.

Finally, Ye Wen came to the room of the Yaochi Saintess.

Pushing the door open, he saw Yaochi holding the child with a benevolent expression, breastfeeding on the daybed.

"You've come. You've had a hard time too," said Yaochi, smiling at Ye Wen. She had evidently heard Ye Wen's visits to Yan Ruyu, Yao Xi, the Phoenix, and the others, and understood how unreliable those sisters were in their first experience as mothers.

Seeing that Yaochi understood his feelings, Ye Wen came to her side with a helpless expression and sat down. "It seems necessary to hold some classes to teach them how to be qualified mothers," said Ye Wen. Looking at his daughter nursing quietly in Yaochi's arms, a smile appeared on his face. "Ye Huai Yao, our child's name. Also, thank you for your hard work." Ye Wen reached out to gently stroke Yaochi's cheek.

"It certainly was quite hard. Giving birth is an unavoidable hurdle in a woman's life. But seeing our child born, all that hardship instantly becomes sweet," said Yaochi, looking at her daughter quietly suckling.

Her eyes were full of tenderness and maternal love.
