373: Reverse entropy increase and create an infinitely looping universe!
"Acquisition?"
Li Wei pushed up the black-framed glasses on the bridge of his nose, a trace of a disdainful sneer appearing at the corner of his mouth.
"Mr. Lu, I know you are a god in that 'Petri dish' down there."
"But here, you need to understand the situation."
Li Wei pointed out the window at the city that, although prosperous, relied on the blood supply of the lower levels to sustain itself.
"The energy gap in this world is an astronomical figure."
"The bit of electricity your son sent is at most enough for us to boil a pot of water."
"Acquisition? What are you going to buy it with? Your life?"
"Life?"
Lu Chen smiled.
He ignored Li Wei's mockery and instead walked over to the giant floor-to-ceiling window on his own.
He reached out and pressed his hand against the glass.
In his palm, that surge of Silver Psionic Energy from Lu Xinghe was throbbing wildly.
"Li Wei, you are an Architect."
"Then you should know why this world is dying."
"Entropy increase."
Li Wei coldly spat out two words, "It's irreversible. Order will eventually lead to disorder, and energy will eventually be exhausted. We can only delay this process by plundering the lower levels."
"Delay?"
Lu Chen turned around abruptly, the mockery in his eyes undisguised.
"This is the extent of your vision?"
"Robbing Peter to pay Paul, only to end up finished together?"
"What else?" Li Wei asked back. "Do you have a way to reverse the Second Law of Thermodynamics?"
"Of course."
Lu Chen snapped his fingers.
"Wang Peng, bring out the 'sample'."
"Got it!"
Wang Peng (Wang Peng) gave a chuckle and pulled a device that looked very much like a flashlight from his coat.
This was a small gift that Lu Xinghe had just "express delivered" via the energy channel.
"Watch closely!"
Wang Peng pressed the switch.
"Zzz—"
A silver beam of light shot out, shining onto a withered potted plant in the office.
A miracle occurred.
That long-dried, carbonized plant, the moment it touched the silver light, actually began to... turn green again!
The withered yellow leaves turned emerald green once more, and the shriveled stems became plump again.
It even bloomed a delicate, dripping-wet little red flower.
"This... this is impossible!"
Li Wei lunged forward, staring intently at the flower, his eyes nearly popping out of his head.
"Time reversal? No! That's not right!"
"This is... Matter Reorganization! It's rearranging disordered ashes back into ordered life!"
"Is this... Negentropy?!"
"Correct."
Lu Chen walked up behind Li Wei and patted his trembling shoulder.
"The world below is no longer your battery."
"My son has turned a black hole into a generator."
"He has turned destruction into new life."
Lu Chen's voice was full of temptation, like a demon's whisper.
"Li Wei, do you want your 'Fourth-Layer World' to become like this too?"
"Do you want... eternal life?"
Li Wei whipped his head around, his eyes as fanatical as a madman's.
"I do! I want it even in my dreams! How? Tell me quickly!"
"It's simple."
Lu Chen walked to the main computer that controlled the entire world.
He unsheathed the pangu sword, the tip of the blade hovering over the main computer's core code.
"Your previous architecture was a 'Pyramid'."
"The upper layers exploited the lower layers until the foundation collapsed."
"Now, I'm going to change it to..."
With a flick of his wrist, Lu Chen drew a perfect circle in the air with the sword's tip.
"Ouroboros."
"Ouroboros?" Li Wei was stunned.
"Yes."
In Lu Chen's eyes, a light of wisdom flashed, bright enough to illuminate dimensions.
"Open up all the levels!"
"Connect the first layer, second layer, third layer... all the way to our layer, in a series!"
"Energy flows from the bottom up to maintain operations."
"Waste is discharged from the top down, entering the Black Hole Furnace at the bottom to be reorganized and purified, turning back into pure energy once more!"
Lu Chen suddenly spread his arms, as if embracing the truth.
"It's a perfect closed loop!"
"No loss, no waste; entropy is locked within the cycle!"
"This is..."
"The Infinite Loop Universe!"
Boom—!!!
As if to confirm Lu Chen's words.
The world outside the window suddenly changed.
The originally dark sky was pierced by a silver pillar of light rising from below!
That pillar of light connected the earth and the sky, reality and illusion.
The entire city began to tremble.
The extinguished neon lights flickered back on, and the stalled factories began to roar again.
Even the stale smell in the air became fresh.
"It's alive..."
Li Wei sat slumped on the floor, watching this miraculous scene with tears streaming down his face.
"This world that has been dead for hundreds of millions of years... has truly come back to life..."
He turned his head, and the way he looked at Lu Chen was no longer as if looking at an intruder.
But as if looking at a... Savior.
"Mr... Mr. Lu."
Li Wei reached out a trembling hand. "No, President Lu!"
"I'm convinced."
"From today on, this company... belongs to Lu!"
"Isn't that it?"
Lu Chen sheathed his sword, picked up the cold cup of coffee from the table, and casually poured it into the flowerpot.
The little red flower bloomed even more vibrantly.
"Wang Peng, get to work."
Lu Chen instructed, "Go and check the company's accounts, and while you're at it, collect the patent fees for that 'Ouroboros' system."
"Got it! Brother Chen, just you wait and see!"
Wang Peng rubbed his hands excitedly and rushed toward the finance office.
Lu Chen walked to the window, looking at this brand-new world.
But he did not stop there.
Su Qingying walked to his side and asked softly:
"Is it over?"
"Over?"
Lu Chen shook his head.
He looked up, his gaze passing over those towering skyscrapers toward the more distant and unknowable... skyline.
There, a crack was faintly visible.
A crack leading... "outside".
"Qingying."
Lu Chen pointed at the crack, a meaningful smile playing on his lips.
"Don't you think."
"That this 'Fourth Layer', although real..."
"...still feels a bit like..."
"...a giant film studio?"
Su Qingying was startled. "You mean..."
"Exactly."
Lu Chen narrowed his eyes, a cold glint flashing through them.
"Since we've already taken out the 'screenwriter' and the 'director'..."
"...shouldn't we go to..."
"...the office of the boss in charge of 'investment'..."
"...and have a cup of tea?"
