43: Chapter 43 The Medicine Fairy, the Fourth Young Master of the Tang Family
Jiang Feng's brows twitched imperceptibly.
He took a half-step forward, blocking the path of the woman in the white dress, his voice calm.
"Fellow Fairy, everything has an order of arrival."
"This item was spotted by my wife first."
His voice was not loud, but the few vendors nearby who were watching the commotion fell silent.
However, the woman in the white dress acted as if she hadn't heard him, not even glancing at Jiang Feng, her gaze still locked onto the dilapidated Medicine Cauldron.
The stall owner was a lean, middle-aged man who had been dozing off against the corner of the wall.
Upon seeing the woman in the white dress, he immediately stood up, his face filled with smiles.
"Medicine Fairy! Why have you come in person? Whatever you need, just send a boy to let me know, and I'll have it delivered to your residence!"
As the man spoke, he nimbly pushed the clutter on his stall to the side, fearful that dust might soil the woman's white dress.
"How many Spirit Stones for this?"
The woman in the white dress finally spoke, her voice crisp but devoid of any warmth.
"Oh! Fairy, aren't you slapping this lowly one's face!" The stall owner waved his hands repeatedly. "For you to fancy it is a blessing I've cultivated over several lifetimes; how could I possibly take your Spirit Stones! Just take it, consider it a tribute from this lowly one…"
"Five Low-Grade Spirit Stones."
The woman interrupted him, her tone brooking no argument.
With a flip of her hand, five Low-Grade Spirit Stones appeared in her palm, which she tossed casually, landing precisely on the stall.
Immediately after, with a wave of her hand through the air, the dilapidated Medicine Cauldron transformed into a stream of light and was stored into her Storage Pouch.
From beginning to end, she had not even glanced at Jiang Feng and Yuan Chu.
After finishing all this, she turned and left, leaving behind a faint, herbal fragrance in the air.
"Hey…"
Jiang Feng was about to say something more when he felt his sleeve being tugged.
He turned his head and saw Yuan Chu shaking her head slightly at him, her gaze somewhat peculiar.
Jiang Feng understood.
He said nothing more, watching the white figure disappear around the corner of the alley.
This woman is interesting.
The two left the stall side by side. After walking for a distance, Yuan Chu's telepathic message echoed in Jiang Feng's mind, carrying a hint of a smile.
"Husband, have you been feeling stifled at home these past few months?"
"Would you like me to find another wife for you to share your affection with?"
Jiang Feng stumbled, almost losing his footing.
This Yuan Chu really knows how to say shocking things.
He replied helplessly, "You girl, what are you thinking about all day? That cauldron might have been some kind of treasure; don't you feel a heartache letting her take it just like that?"
"Things can be found again if lost, but if you miss a beauty, she's truly gone."
Yuan Chu's tone was playful.
"I think that Medicine Fairy is quite good; her temperament is cold and aloof, and her figure is nice, but most importantly…"
Jiang Feng chuckled.
The logic held, but hearing these words from his own wife still felt somewhat strange.
However, he also admitted that the woman indeed possessed a unique charm, especially that faint herbal fragrance on her, which left a deep impression.
"Alright, stop joking around."
Jiang Feng composed himself.
The two returned to the stall from earlier.
The stall owner was happily tucking the five Low-Grade Spirit Stones into his bosom, his face full of smiles.
Seeing Jiang Feng return, his attitude became much more polite.
"Fellow Daoist, what can I do for you?"
Jiang Feng got straight to the point, "Who was that Fairy from just now?"
"You mean the Medicine Fairy!"
Upon hearing this, the stall owner immediately perked up, his face full of admiration.
"Her name is Yao Shifei; she is the living Bodhisattva of our Heifeng Pass, a Heavenly Immortal descended to the mortal world!"
"Don't let her Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivation fool you; her Alchemy skills are divine!"
The stall owner gave a thumbs up, his face full of respect.
"Among us Loose Cultivators who lick blood off the blade, who hasn't received her kindness? Once, my brother had his stomach ripped open by a Tier 3 Yao Beast, his intestines spilling out, and he was about to breathe his last; it was the Medicine Fairy who pulled him back from the gates of hell with a single Rejuvenation Pill!"
"And she charges fairly; sometimes when she meets those who truly can't make ends meet, she's willing to save them without taking a single cent! Just take that broken cauldron from earlier; she could have just taken it, but she still gave five Spirit Stones. That is the demeanor of a Fairy!"
"So, she is a very good person?" Jiang Feng mused.
"More than just good, she's practically a living Bodhisattva!"
The stall owner sighed with emotion, but as he spoke, he let out a long sigh, his expression becoming complicated.
"It's a pity… such a good person is about to be defiled by a pig!"
"Oh?" Jiang Feng became interested. "How so?"
The stall owner lowered his voice, looked around, and then leaned in close to Jiang Feng.
"Fellow Daoist, you're from out of town, right? To the east of our Heifeng Pass is Black Wind City. There's a Tang Family in the city, and their Old Ancestor is a Foundation Establishment Cultivator; they are extremely overbearing!"
"The Tang Family has a Fourth Young Master named Tang Wenliang, who is a complete Devil King! Relying on the Old Ancestor's doting, he runs rampant in the city, bullying the common folk. He already has over a dozen wives and concubines in his manor, and I've heard they all died under mysterious circumstances; it's extremely sinister!"
"That Fourth Young Master Tang, I don't know how, but he saw the Medicine Fairy a while ago and has been pestering her every day since."
"The Medicine Fairy ignores him completely, but that beast has declared that in three days, he will bring betrothal gifts to propose marriage!"
The stall owner clenched his fists in anger.
"That's not a proposal; that's open robbery! Those of us who have received the Fairy's kindness all want to stand up for her, but the Tang Family has a Foundation Establishment Old Ancestor guarding them. Who among us small Qi Refining Cultivators dares to go and die? Sigh, in this world, good people don't get good rewards!"
Jiang Feng listened quietly, his eyes flickering as he understood the situation.
A hero saving a beauty?
No, this script is Heaven chasing after him to feed him.
A stunning beauty with exquisite Alchemy skills, noble character, and currently in dire straits…
This is an opportunity tailor-made for his Jiang Family's grand cause of having many children and many blessings!
If he could take this woman into his household, not only would he receive generous rewards from the System, but he could also add a top-tier Alchemist to his Family, achieving freedom from Medicinal Pill worries from now on!
This deal is incredibly lucrative!
"Husband, are you tempted?"
Yuan Chu's telepathic message echoed in his mind again, carrying a smile.
"Such a remarkable woman; if she were to be defiled by such a hedonist, wouldn't that be intolerable to Heaven?" Jiang Feng replied solemnly.
The two did not linger and turned to walk towards the inn.
Jiang Feng was already calculating in his mind how to accomplish this major affair with the minimal cost.
That Foundation Establishment Old Ancestor of the Tang Family was indeed a trouble.
But, it was merely trouble.
Just after walking not far, Yuan Chu suddenly stopped.
"Husband, don't be in such a rush to be a hero."
Her voice echoed in Jiang Feng's mind, her tone somewhat peculiar.
"What do you mean?" Jiang Feng was puzzled.
Yuan Chu turned her head, looked at him quietly, and said slowly:
"Just now, I saw her heart."
Jiang Feng felt a chill in his heart.
A smile curled the corners of Yuan Chu's lips.
"This Yao Shifei is not as simple as you think."
