28: Chapter 28 Traveling Together

"Junior Sister, you'll be coming with me on this journey."

Lin Ming said to Su Lianxue.

"This is Revered Master's command."

Upon hearing this, Su Lianxue knew she had no room to refuse and accepted it helplessly.

She didn't know what their Revered Master was thinking; clearly, it was Senior Brother who was going on a mission, so why did she have to follow along?

The next day.

Lin Ming brought Su Lianxue to the Sect's mountain gate. Based on the specific location provided by the Mission Hall Disciple, they arrived at a spot to wait.

They saw four Disciples already waiting there; clearly, they were the other Disciples for this mission.

"Senior Brother Lin."

A man took the initiative to greet Lin Ming.

Quite a few people recognized the former sole Disciple of Zichen Peak, and because of Su Lianxue, many had remembered Lin Ming by association.

"Are you all the ones heading to the Great Yan Dynasty for the inspection?"

Lin Ming looked at the four and asked.

Two men and two women, all at the Spirit Platform Realm.

"Yes, Senior Brother Lin."

Zhu Yuankong was the first to nod.

He also glanced at Su Lianxue, surprised that this Senior Brother was bringing her along on a mission.

At that moment, a spirit boat flew in from the distance, hovered above them, and slowly descended.

This was the spirit boat headed for the Great Yan Dynasty.

After the four presented their mission tokens, they successfully boarded the spirit boat. Since Su Lianxue did not have a mission, she had to purchase an additional pass to board.

Lin Ming paid the fee for the spirit boat on the spot.

This cost was charged to Su Lianxue's account; once she was able to earn Essence Stones later, she would have to pay him back.

"Senior Brother is so stingy,"

Su Lianxue muttered under her breath.

She hadn't expected Senior Brother to charge this fee to her, especially since she hadn't even wanted to go on the mission with him.

"Next time you want to badmouth your Senior Brother, I suggest doing it when I'm not around."

Lin Ming glanced at Su Lianxue and said flatly.

"Understood,"

Su Lianxue said, looking at Lin Ming.

It seemed this girl was gradually opening up, no longer like the silent jar she was before.

This was something Lin Ming was happy to see; he didn't want his beautiful Junior Sister to be a silent jar, as that would be quite boring.

Besides the six of them, many other Disciples boarded the spirit boat. Its final destination was the Great Yan Dynasty, but it would stop at other places along the way.

"Senior Brother Lin, let's get to know each other, since we'll be on this mission together."

Zhu Yuankong said to Lin Ming.

"Alright."

Lin Ming nodded.

For the coming period, the six of them would be acting together, so it was best to understand one another.

"I'll go first. I am Zhu Yuankong, a Disciple of Shangyang Peak, Spirit Platform Third Heaven."

Zhu Yuankong said.

"Fang Jinchen, Disciple of Hidden Sword Peak, Spirit Platform Fourth Heaven."

Fang Jinchen spoke with a calm expression, a sword strapped to his back.

"Tong Lingwei, Disciple of Azure Severance Peak, Spirit Platform Second Heaven."

"Du Yue, Disciple of Azure Severance Peak, Spirit Platform Third Heaven."

"Lin Ming, Disciple of Zichen Peak, Spirit Platform Fourth Heaven."

"Also, this is my Junior Sister, Su Lianxue; she is not participating in this mission."

Lin Ming said.

The four were not surprised by this.

After all, Su Lianxue was a new Disciple whose strength was likely still in the Body Tempering Realm; naturally, she wasn't qualified to take on a patrol mission.

"Our mission this time is to use the Demon-Seeking Compass to inspect the Royal Capital of the Great Yan Dynasty. We'll discuss specific arrangements once we reach the Royal Capital."

Zhu Yuankong added.

Specific task assignments would wait until they reached the Royal Capital. After all, the distance from the Sect to the Great Yan Dynasty was vast; even by spirit boat, it would take two days to arrive.

They would spend these two days on the spirit boat.

"Then I'll head back to rest first."

Seeing this, Lin Ming turned and left, returning to his own room.

Su Lianxue also returned to her room, but as soon as she did, she began cultivating.

She didn't want to waste time, as there was nothing else to do anyway.

...

"That slut Yun Hua's Disciple has left Yuanxu Mountain and gone to the Great Yan Dynasty."

In a gloomy graveyard, a Black-robed Man spoke to a tombstone.

"That slut..."

A feminine, eerie voice echoed from all directions of the graveyard.

"If we can't kill that slut Yun Hua, then let's send her Disciple on his way."

"It just so happens that the layout in Great Yan is ready for the finishing touches."

The Black-robed Man said coldly.

"Leave it to me. I'll make sure he has a good journey, and then I'll let him face that slut Yun Hua."

As the voice spoke, an abnormally pale arm reached out from the soil behind the tombstone.

...

Two days later.

A massive city appeared in their sight below.

Yan Capital.

The location of the Great Yan Dynasty's Royal Capital.

Although the Great Yan Dynasty's strength was far inferior to Yuanxu Mountain, its royal Family possessed experts at the level of True Monarch of the Other Shore, making it a reasonably strong power in the Qingyuan Realm.

The spirit boat stopped at a large mountain outside the Great Yan Dynasty.

A Daoist temple was built on the mountain; it was the Yuanxu Mountain outpost in the Great Yan Dynasty.

As a power subservient to Yuanxu Mountain, the Great Yan Dynasty naturally had Yuanxu Mountain personnel stationed there, who also held the position of State Preceptor.

However, Yuanxu Mountain generally did not interfere with the operations of the Great Yan Dynasty unless it faced an invasion by external forces or, as in this case, required a purge of Demonic Path forces.

The spirit boat slowly came to a halt on the open ground in front of the temple, and the six people stepped off.

"Junior Martial Uncles, I have been waiting here for you all by my Revered Master's order."

A Young Man had already been waiting for them there and spoke with a hint of respect.

"Lead the way."

Lin Ming nodded.

The group followed him into the temple and arrived at a room.

"Greetings, Senior Brother."

The group addressed the old man in the room.

According to the information provided by the Mission Hall, this old man was a Disciple of Shangyang Peak, and his strength had reached the Spirit Treasury Realm.

Because he could no longer advance on the path of cultivation, he had taken the initiative to come to the Great Yan Dynasty to serve as the State Preceptor.

This sort of thing was very common in Yuanxu Mountain. Some Disciples whose cultivation was difficult to improve, or who had reached a certain age, would apply for external assignments to contribute to the Sect and use their remaining energy.

Alternatively, they would go down the mountain to branch out, establish families, and provide fresh blood for the Sect.

"Junior Brothers and Sisters, I know the purpose of your visit. Rest for today, and tomorrow I will take you into the city."

Bai Cheng nodded.

He would certainly cooperate unconditionally with the Sect's mission.
