6: Chapter 6 Inheritance

Su Lianxue slowly approached the waterfall.

The water falling from above splashed droplets onto Su Lianxue's body.

Su Lianxue came to a stop; she could sense something unusual behind the waterfall, but with her current physical strength, she feared she wouldn't be able to withstand the force of the falling water.

If she tried to force her way into the waterfall, it would likely cause significant damage to her body.

This was something Su Lianxue was unwilling to risk.

"A Forbidden Ground of Zichen Peak?"

Su Lianxue wondered curiously.

Lin Ming had briefly introduced the entire Zichen Peak to her, mentioning that there weren't really any Forbidden Grounds. If there had to be one, it would be True Monarch Yunhua's Immortal Cave.

Other than that, there were no Forbidden Grounds or places she couldn't go.

But looking at it now, there seemed to be a problem with what Lin Ming had told her.

Either Lin Ming hadn't noticed the anomaly of the waterfall...

...or Lin Ming was intentionally hiding it.

Regardless of which it was, the current Su Lianxue couldn't endure this waterfall.

Perhaps she could explore it once her cultivation level had increased.

After a simple wash, Su Lianxue changed her clothes and walked toward her small cabin.

Before she even reached her residence, a fragrant aroma wafted toward her.

Upon smelling this scent, she unconsciously swallowed her saliva.

When she reached the wooden house, she saw Lin Ming walking out carrying plates of food, placing them one by one on the stone table in front of the house.

"Junior Sister, come and eat."

Seeing Su Lianxue return, Lin Ming waved and called out to her.

Su Lianxue put her clothes back in her cabin and then came to sit at the table in front of the wooden house.

"Senior Brother, you know how to cook?"

Su Lianxue asked.

"Since it was just Revered Master and me on the mountain, I naturally had to learn a bit."

Lin Ming said with a smile.

Unlike the other six peaks, which each had their own dining halls, Zichen Peak only had Lin Ming and True Monarch Yunhua, so no dining hall had been established.

In the beginning, Lin Ming would go to the dining halls of the other peaks to scrounge for food, but later he started cooking for himself. After all, Lin Ming had lived alone before his Transmigration, so cooking was already a necessary skill.

Although Lin Ming had long reached the stage of Bigue and didn't need to eat to maintain his internal energy, he still couldn't forgo the pleasure of food.

Furthermore, a Junior Sister had just arrived; the Body Tempering Realm was far from reaching the level of Bigue, and on the contrary, she urgently needed energy replenishment.

"Let's eat."

Lin Ming placed two bowls of rice on the table, putting one in front of Su Lianxue.

Su Lianxue picked up her chopsticks, took a piece of meat, and put it in her mouth.

In that moment, her taste buds seemed to explode; the melt-in-the-mouth texture, rich but not greasy, instantly captivated her.

Not only that, she could feel a faint warm current flowing into and merging with her body.

This was no ordinary meal.

Realizing this, Su Lianxue's hands and mouth began to move faster.

"Eat slowly."

Lin Ming watched this scene, still wearing a smile.

A beautiful woman and delicious food—how pleasant.

The sun set in the west.

The food on the plates was swept clean, with nothing left over; most of it had gone into Su Lianxue's stomach.

"Senior Brother, your culinary skills are truly excellent,"

Su Lianxue couldn't help but praise.

"It's alright."

Lin Ming stood up to clear the plates from the table as he spoke.

Su Lianxue watched this scene quietly.

Although they had only spent less than a day together, Lin Ming didn't give Su Lianxue the feeling of a cultivator; he seemed more like a Mortal.

Su Lianxue had seen many cultivators like her Senior Brother before, those who tempered their hearts in the Mortal World to gain insights into life and the Mortal Dao.

There were quite a few such cultivators; an old monster she knew followed this path.

But her Senior Brother was only a Spirit Platform Realm cultivator; his Realm hadn't reached such a level yet. Perhaps this was just his way of life.

How could Senior Brother be one of those old monsters?

Su Lianxue shook her head; she was overthinking to even compare her Senior Brother with those old monsters.

"Get some rest early,"

Lin Ming said to Su Lianxue.

"But the sun hasn't even set yet."

Su Lianxue said, slightly confused.

Resting early was one thing, but this was far too early; the sun was still above the horizon.

"Your Senior Brother needs to rest. See you tomorrow."

With that, Lin Ming turned and walked into his small cabin, closing his door.

Resting?

More like cultivating, I bet.

The confusion on Su Lianxue's face faded; she didn't believe her Senior Brother was actually resting. He was likely going to Cultivate.

Resting was probably just Lin Ming's excuse.

Seeing this, Su Lianxue also returned to her wooden house.

Her cultivation for today had temporarily come to an end, and she was considering her path of cultivation.

Should she retread her previous path, or take an unknown road?

By retreading her previous path, Su Lianxue was confident she could return to the Emperor Realm; it would just be a matter of time.

But there was one problem: the Immortals above the Emperor Realm.

She didn't have much confidence in Immortal Ascension; even before her reincarnation, she had less than a forty percent chance of breaking through to the Immortal Realm.

After all, it had been tens of millions of years since a so-called Immortal had appeared. In these tens of millions of years, all Emperor Realm experts who tried to break through to the Immortal Realm either failed or mysteriously disappeared.

No useful information had been passed down, so Su Lianxue had to explore everything on her own.

But now that she had been reborn and everything was starting from scratch, two paths lay before Su Lianxue.

One was the path she had walked before.

The other was an Immortal's Legacy.

Su Lianxue had once obtained an Immortal's Legacy in a cave dwelling left behind by an Immortal, acquiring a Cultivation Technique left by them.

However, to practice this technique, one had to disperse their existing power and start over. For the Su Lianxue of that time, she certainly wouldn't have chosen to do so.

If she chose to disperse her power and her enemies found out, she would be finished.

Therefore, this Immortal's Legacy had been temporarily set aside.

But it was different now. Su Lianxue was starting from the beginning anyway, so she could practice this technique.

Yet Su Lianxue still had certain reservations, so she began to hesitate between these two paths.

"I'll decide once I reach the Spirit Guiding Realm."

Su Lianxue finally shook her head.

She would wait until Spirit Guidance, when it was time to choose a Cultivation Technique, to decide.
