7: Chapter 7 The Seeds Sprout

Bright Moon Company.

"What?! Your four teammates all want cultivation? What kind of cultivation? Evolution?! Okay, okay, okay! No problem!"

As Supervisor Song sat in his office, orders fell from the sky. He was so excited he sprang up from his chair with a "whoosh," nearly knocking over the teacup on his desk.

As a minor supervisor in the Cultivation Department, he had monthly performance targets he had to meet.

But for some reason lately, several senior Breeders in the department were either on leave or away on business, which meant the number of orders allocated to him had dropped significantly.

With the end of the month approaching and his KPI still far from being met, he was just getting anxious when Song Jiang sent him four orders.

He truly was his own brother. That name was well-chosen; he was a real timely rain, a true "Song Jiang."

However, a few seconds later, his smile froze, and his expression turned bitter. The reason was simple: Song Jiang's teammates had specifically requested that Li Yu handle the cultivation.

"Does it have to be Li Yu? Can't someone else do it?"

"No, they're only here for the Starlight Wolf King evolution. It would be meaningless to find anyone else."

"Then there's nothing I can do."

"Why?"

"Li Yu was rejected during the interview because of his educational background. He left in a hurry after the cultivation, and I don't have his contact information."

As he spoke, Supervisor Song detailed Li Yu's interview to Song Jiang, which made Song Jiang curse in anger, even throwing in a few insults toward Bright Moon Company and Supervisor Song himself.

Supervisor Song didn't refute him. If he weren't still wearing his supervisor's badge, he would have wanted to point his finger at the Human Resources Department and curse them out.

A talent capable of cultivating a new S-grade species was eliminated just like that because of his educational background!

Unfortunately, he was only a minor supervisor, had no real authority, and couldn't interfere with the Human Resources Department's decisions.

Knock, knock, knock... A series of knocks echoed.

"Come in."

Supervisor Song covered the phone's receiver, his expression looking rather grim.

"Supervisor Song, Special Assistant Yang wants to see you," said the employee who had come to the door.

"Special Assistant Yang?" Supervisor Song was slightly stunned and followed up, "Is that the Special Assistant Yang who came with the new President?"

"Yes, it seems to be about the cultivation route for some kind of Wolf King."

"Okay, okay, I understand. You can go out first."

After the office door closed, Supervisor Song took a deep breath and said to the other end of the line, "Xiao Jiang, don't worry, there might be a turning point for this! Damn it, this time it's not me reporting anyone; it's the big boss upstairs asking about it. Hehehe... Hehehe..."

"Brother, don't be like that. Your laughter is... it scares me." Song Jiang's voice sounded cautious.

"Get lost!"

Two minutes later.

Supervisor Song stood outside the Presidents Office, in front of an independent office door. He took a deep breath and knocked gently.

"Enter."

The room was spacious and bright, with simple and clean modern decor. Special Assistant Yang was hunched over her desk writing furiously, wearing a suit with short hair, looking capable and professional.

Yang Xue had arrived along with the President. She held more power in the company than the Vice President, second only to the President.

When the President was away, she decided most of the company's affairs. Because of her decisive nature and tough approach, many people feared her even more than the President.

"Special Assistant Yang, you wanted to see me?" Supervisor Song spoke with a respectful tone and careful movements.

Yang Xue's pen paused, and she looked up. Her gaze was like an unsheathed blade, instantly locking onto him, and the invisible pressure made Supervisor Song hold his breath instinctively.

"What is the situation with the Starlight Wolf King's cultivation?" Her words were crisp and direct, without any excess, "Why wasn't it reported?"

Supervisor Song dared not hide anything. He recounted everything that happened this morning, from Li Yu's sudden appearance to the successful cultivation, and finally, the four new orders he had just received.

A trace of astonishment gradually appeared on Yang Xue's originally calm face. Her blade-like gaze turned into shock, and deep in her eyes, a bright flash of light flickered briefly.

"Are you saying that an Intern who just left school independently completed a brand-new S-grade extraordinary quality evolution cultivation, and because of that, brought in four new evolution orders?"

"It's absolutely true!" Supervisor Song patted his chest, "I can stake my position on it!"

Yang Xue tapped her pen gently on the desk, a thoughtful expression on her face.

Someone from a technical school had actually cultivated a new S-grade species of Beast Tamer, even if it was only at an extraordinary level, that was enough to prove his value.

It was just hard to tell whether his cultivation of the Starlight Wolf King was luck, coincidence, or an accumulation of knowledge. If it were the former, he would eventually fade into obscurity.

If it were the latter, then the value of his talent would need to be re-evaluated. Regardless of which it was, one thing was certain. He had to be brought to Bright Moon Company!

"Has he been hired?" Yang Xue asked.

"This..."

"Hmm?"

"Special Assistant Yang, he hasn't been hired. He was rejected by Liu Quan from the Human Resources Department." Supervisor Song looked up and glanced cautiously at Special Assistant Yang.

Yang Xue frowned slightly: "Reason."

Supervisor Song had been waiting for this question and immediately said: "Li Yu is from a technical school. Before the interview even began, he was dismissed by the Human Resources Department supervisor, Liu Quan. He didn't even have a chance to demonstrate his skills."

The office fell silent. Special Assistant Yang gripped her pen, expressionless; no one knew what she was thinking. Supervisor Song waited with some trepidation.

Everything he said was the truth, without any falsehood or exaggeration, but perhaps because he had hidden some personal motives, he couldn't help but feel uneasy.

"Supervisor Song."

Yang Xue's gaze locked onto Supervisor Song.

"Special Assistant Yang, at your command." Supervisor Song held his breath.

"Go contact him. Allow him to be hired without an interview, with preferential treatment," Yang Xue paused, "Those four orders came because of him, so let him handle them. If the cultivation goes smoothly, report back to me."

Supervisor Song was overjoyed and hurriedly replied: "Yes!"

"As for Liu Quan..."

Special Assistant Yang's eyes flickered, her lips parted slightly, and she whispered something.

In the hospital.

As Li Yu deposited forty thousand yuan into his mother's medical card, he paid off the medical expenses for the next two months in one go.

The siblings looked at each other and smiled, both wearing relieved expressions.

They returned to the hospital room.

In the slightly aged room, the smell of disinfectant permeated the air. The "beep-beep-beep" sound of instruments echoed, and various lines monitoring health were connected to the hospital bed.

His mother lay quietly on the bed, looking as if she were asleep. Her originally dark complexion had become pale and bloodless after a long hospitalization.

Li Yu gazed at that strange yet familiar face, and some memories welled up in his mind.

When he was ten, his father died a violent death. The bright red blood splattered onto Li Yu, causing a huge psychological trauma to his young self. Little Li Yu broke down.

It took a long time of treatment to recover, but his spirit suffered permanent damage. From then on, he became more easily fatigued than the average person.

Because of his weak mental power, he completely gave up the dream of becoming a Beast Tamer. Also, due to the treatment, he fell behind in his studies. After failing his exams, he found a nearby technical school to study in the Cultivation Department.

After his father passed away, their mother, an uneducated housewife with no special skills, supported the family with her hard work and sweat.

The siblings felt for their mother. Li Yu had intended to graduate as soon as possible to help support the family, but before he could earn any money, his mother collapsed from exhaustion.

In half a year, the family's savings were exhausted, and even his younger sister had to participate in those physically harmful experiments. Fortunately, he finally made it in time.

"Brother, are you okay?" Li Meng looked at her brother's dazed expression and couldn't help but feel worried.

Li Yu collected himself and smiled, saying: "I'm fine."

Even though this was the first time they had met, that sense of intimacy deep within his blood made Li Yu's heart palpitate.

He had transmigrated, that was true, but he had also inherited the original owner's memories. In other words, he was Li Yu.

Just as he was staring blankly, his phone suddenly vibrated. It was an unknown number.

"Hello, who is this?"

As soon as Li Yu answered and heard the voice on the other end, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

The seed had sprouted.

Li Yu's tone carried a hint of surprise: "Supervisor Song? What can I do for you?... Hired without an interview? Okay, I'm at the City First Hospital, I'll send you the specific address on your phone. Okay, okay..."

After Li Yu hung up the phone, Li Meng hurriedly asked: "Brother? Who was looking for you?"

"Someone from Bright Moon Company, saying I've been hired."

"Yay!" Li Meng said with a face full of joy, "Really?! That's great!"

"He's coming over later to discuss the benefits and compensation with me."

"Then I'll go get some food for you, Brother. You need to be well-fed to have the energy to talk!"

Without waiting for Li Yu to answer, Li Meng, filled with joy, ran out the door, gently closed it, and continued jogging.

Li Yu felt a warmth in his heart.

Having a younger sister seemed quite nice.
