86: Chapter 86 The Living Light of Evolution

The Silver Scale Bubble Fish blew Bubbles, making gurgling sounds, paying no attention to what Li Yu was doing.

Li Yu repeated the process, one by one, shattering the spirit crystals and tossing them into the glass vessel, where the energy inside slowly changed from its initial flames.

Sometimes flames, sometimes water mist, sometimes murky yellow, sometimes cyan green...

Eventually, it converged into a colorful cloud of mist, hazy and shifting, and Li Yu looked back at the Silver Scale Bubble Fish.

The Silver Scale Bubble Fish had been stationary for quite a while; even though its memory had refreshed, it didn't move, staring straight at the energy. This thing seemed to hold a huge attraction for it.

There was a reaction.

Li Yu let out a sigh of relief and revealed a smile like a big bad wolf: "Bubble Fish, come here."

The Silver Scale Bubble Fish swayed its tail and moved closer to the glass vessel.

Li Yu shifted its position, aligning it with the only entrance, and then pressed the switch. The glass opening opened, and before the Silver Scale Bubble Fish could understand what was happening, it was pushed by its tail by Li Yu and sent inside.

Chen Qing: ...

Although she knew Li Yu was performing cultivation, for some reason, it gave her the illusion that he was stewing fish, just missing some scallions, ginger, and garlic.

Once the Silver Scale Bubble Fish was tossed inside, the massive energy seemed to find an outlet, rushing directly toward it, squeezing in through its eyes, mouth, gills, and even every single scale.

The Silver Scale Bubble Fish went stiff, eyes wide, its mouth forced open, all its scales splayed out as the spirit energy aggressively barged in, causing tearing pain to surge throughout its entire body.

It trembled violently from the pain, as if a voice was screaming in its heart:

No...

Stop...

Not there...

...

Watching the Silver Scale Bubble Fish, which was twitching all over from being ravaged by the spirit energy, Li Yu saw a scene that felt strangely familiar, as if he had seen it in some educational video.

He awkwardly rubbed his nose and glanced at Chen Qing, who happened to be looking at him.

"You are thinking about something inappropriate."

"No, you're talking nonsense."

"As I thought."

"Hey, hey, I'm going to sue you for slander, you're slandering me!"

"You're getting flustered."

"You!"

Before Li Yu could argue his case, a soft white light arrived in rolling waves. The white light carried a peculiar, soft texture, as if it weren't light, but fluffy, delicate cotton.

Chen Qing also felt this peculiarity; as a Beast Tamer, her senses were even sharper.

The two looked at the white light simultaneously, only to see that the Silver Scale Bubble Fish inside the glass vessel was glowing on its own, its original appearance obscured.

"The evolution has begun." Li Yu was filled with excitement, gazing at the light of evolution with anticipation.

Chen Qing shook her head: "Unprecedented."

Evolutions performed by Breeders always involve processing numerous materials, blending them into specific ratios to stimulate the genes within the beast, briefly opening the genetic lock to allow the beast to evolve.

But she had never heard of tossing a beast into an elemental storm and having it evolve after being ravaged.

A strange Breeder.

A strange beast.

What a match.

Chen Qing didn't pay much attention; after all, even though that light of evolution was a bit special, at the end of the day, it was still just the evolution of a fish with tender meat.

Could it possibly turn into a dragon?

Boom!

Suddenly, the soft white light that had spread throughout the cultivation room exploded like an unstable bomb. In an instant, the white light shattered, light arrows flew, and the entire cultivation room was shrouded in a vast whiteness.

Li Yu was caught off guard, his eyes stung by the intense light, and he let out a scream.

Chen Qing, with her sharp senses, was instantly blinded and let out a muffled groan.

"What's happening?!"

"Evolution!"

"I know, but is this what evolution is like?!"

"I don't know!!!"

Before the two could react to what was happening, the dazzling white light continued to erupt.

Boom, boom, boom...

The white light continued to expand and flash, ignoring their closed eyelids and piercing into their eyes. The immense pain caused both of them to scream and collapse to the ground together.

The only thought they had before passing out.

One was: I was careless, I didn't dodge.

The other was: The mission isn't finished yet.

However...

The power of the white light went far beyond that.

It passed through the wall of the cultivation room, reached the hallway and the adjacent cultivation room, then passed through the hallway, burned out the surveillance cameras, and continued to expand outward.

It didn't seem like a burst of light; it was more like something with a life of its own, quickly spreading across the entire floor and destroying several surveillance cameras.

The urgent alarm sounded, "Beep, beep."

"Report! An anomaly has occurred on the Advanced Cultivation floor!"

"What kind of anomaly?!"

"The light of evolution burned out the cameras and spread across the entire floor!"

"Who allowed you to drink on the job?"

"Report! I haven't been drinking, the situation is real."

"Damn! Everyone follow me..."

The Beast Tamers stationed at Bright Moon Company received the news, their expressions changing drastically, and they rushed toward that floor from the stairs. But before they had run halfway, Special Assistant Yang suddenly appeared.

"Special Assistant Yang!" one Beast Tamer shouted.

Special Assistant Yang nodded and said: "Go back, there is no need to worry."

Although the few Beast Tamers were confused, they still acknowledged the order and returned the way they came.

"Wait!" Special Assistant Yang called out.

"Special Assistant Yang, do you have any other instructions?"

"Keep this news confidential."

"Yes!"

After the group of Beast Tamers left, Special Assistant Yang looked toward the direction of that cultivation room with uncertainty. She still remembered what Ming Yueguang had just said— "The living light of evolution! The legendary... 'living light of evolution'."

"I didn't expect that this thing actually existed."

...

Advanced Cultivation floor.

The dazzling white light had turned this place into an ocean of light; everything was glowing, a vast, white expanse.

"Oh? What a huge commotion; this might cost someone their life."

Ming Yueguang walked in, a flash of surprise crossing her eyes.

She was barefoot, wearing a long dress, and was followed by a fox the size of a calf.

"Little Snow, absorb!" Ming Yueguang said.

The snow-white fox spread its seven fluffy, snow-white tails. They were furry, yet on these tails were some hideous, twisted, dark red patterns like venomous snakes, emitting a corrosive sound.

The fox let out a low whine of discomfort and then shook its tails. As the tails swayed, the surrounding light, like sardines packed in a can, gathered toward these tails.

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle—

As the white light fell, the dark red patterns on the tails emitted an even more piercing corrosive sound.

The fox's cries became painful, but its eyes grew more stubborn. It swung its tails again, exerting a greater suction force, enveloping the white light, and its figure moved forward rapidly. Ming Yueguang followed closely behind, observing the changes in the fox's tails intently.

Advancing all the way.

When she arrived at the brightest spot of the white light, Ming Yueguang looked at the fox's tails and saw that the dark red patterns had decreased by twenty percent. The fluffy fur had absorbed a lot of the light of evolution, and the entire fox looked vibrant and spirited.

"Well done, Little Snow." Ming Yueguang said.

The fox's cries became light and cheerful.

Ming Yueguang opened the laboratory door, and the fox dashed in first, swinging its tails to release many ice crystals. Amidst the refraction of the ice crystals, the white light that was almost blurring everything in the room was refracted by the ice crystals and gathered onto the fox's tails.

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle—

The dark red patterns on the tails were purified bit by bit in the white light, and wisps of black and red mist rose up, trying to escape, but were immediately devoured by even more white light.

"It can even purify the curse of the Ancient God ruins; it truly lives up to being the 'living light of evolution'." Ming Yueguang said with a smile in her eyes, looking toward the direction where Li Yu had collapsed.

"What exactly is evolving here?"
