145: Chapter 145 Expelling Jin Yulong, Night Raid

Li Yu really wanted to say that he didn't even hold much hope of getting out alive. Entering the core, solving the problem, and retrieving the books—this series of high-difficulty operations was almost impossible.

But looking at Ming Yueguang's excited expression and hopeful eyes, he really couldn't bear to refuse.

Sometimes he didn't even know what kind of person he was interacting with. A gentle girl next door? A beautiful corporate president? A hegemon of beast taming? Or a complex ancient scholar?

With these multiple identities combined, Ming Yueguang became a person full of contradictions.

"I will do my best," Li Yu said.

He bid farewell to Ming Yueguang and Yang Xue, and left with Chen Qing.

Once the office door closed, the hope and anticipation on Ming Yueguang's face slowly faded, replaced by deep thought, and a faint chill even flickered in her eyes.

Yang Xue frowned and said, "From a realistic analysis, he should stay at the company to utilize his abilities as a Breeder and evolve more excellent beasts. That would be the most beneficial thing for him and for all of China."

"Letting him enter the ruins is an extremely irrational choice, not to mention giving him such a difficult task."

Ming Yueguang said, "But he is already involved. There is something suspicious about this Blood Refining Ruins, and I am truly worried... If the old thing inside the ruins isn't completely dead, then we are in big trouble."

After a brief moment of melancholy, Ming Yueguang shook her hair and walked out with light steps, as if the deep thought and melancholy from just a moment ago belonged to someone else.

At the door, she turned back and said, "Oh, right, handle the materials he gave you properly. It is time for Bright Moon Company to be reorganized."

After speaking, the door gently closed.

Yang Xue was silent for a moment, shook her head, and muttered to herself, "...You crazy woman, are you actually trying to teach me how to do my job?"

In the afternoon, a notification popped up on the company app for all employees of Bright Moon Company.

"Vice President Jin Yulong is dismissed for accepting bribes, purchasing inferior and harmful materials, etc.;"

"Eighth Floor Breeder Director Zhang Hai is dismissed for forming cliques, engaging in nepotism, creating small factions, and accepting bribes, etc.;"

"Human Resources Department..."

A series of over a dozen messages caused the entire company to erupt, especially among the employees who had long been suppressed and were unwilling to pick sides; they cheered one after another.

In the Vice President's office, Jin Yulong was so angry he slammed the table wildly. His expression was uncertain, and a pig-tail whip lashed out erratically due to his agitation.

"Who is it? Who found so much solid evidence against me..." Jin Yulong glared with bloodshot eyes, like a stressed lion.

The space beside him twisted slightly, and a figure stepped out. It was the man with an ordinary appearance whom Chen Qing had seen before.

"Any discoveries?" Jin Yulong asked.

The man sniffed and said, "Chen Qing has been here. The scent is very faint, but it exists."

"Chen Qing..." Jin Yulong gritted his teeth. "Damn it! It was this bitch! My suspicions were correct; she really did collude with Li Yu and betrayed the organization."

He sat down at the computer and reopened the software he had just downloaded, wanting to see if the previous email had been sent, but the door was kicked open with a "bang." The ordinary-looking man quickly hid his form.

"Get out! Did no one tell you to knock?" Jin Yulong habitually roared.

The few security guards who walked in, accompanied by their beasts, chuckled and said, "Vice President—ah, no, Mr. Jin Yulong, you have been dismissed. Please take your claws off; everything you are touching and sitting on now is company property."

Jin Yulong froze, his face turning the color of liver.

"I said, get out! Even if I am dismissed, that is a matter for tomorrow. Today, I still have authority!" Jin Yulong scolded.

"I am afraid you do not," Yang Xue said, stepping out from behind the security guards. As she appeared, the room seemed to be covered in a viscous substance. Jin Yulong's fingers landed on the keyboard, trying to check the email, but it felt as hard as stone. It was locked down.

Jin Yulong understood that this office had been sealed by the woman in front of him using her ability; without her permission, no one could do anything.

"Fine, Yang Xue, Special Assistant Yang! What a clever method you have. You must have been plotting for a long time for this day."

"It was a matter of time."

"A matter of time, indeed!"

At this moment, the viscosity in the space had disappeared. Jin Yulong did not touch the computer again; he slowly stood up and walked in front of Yang Xue.

"I have been operating in this company for quite a while. Do you think you can root everything out in such a short time? Be careful..." Jin Yulong lowered his voice and said, "Employee backlash will not be easy to handle."

After speaking, Jin Yulong shoved past the security guards and strode away.

After leaving Bright Moon Company, he looked back at the towering building, a flash of gloom crossing his eyes.

"Go to 'Wild Horse,' find a few trustworthy people, and slaughter Chen Qing and Li Yu tonight."

"Yes!" said the ordinary-looking man, before quickly hiding his form.

Nighttime. Ningyang City was brightly lit, and the busyness of the whole city continued.

In her room, Chen Qing took a cloth and gently wiped her sword. The sword's cold gleam appeared even more chilling in the night.

She perked up her ears, listening to the movement next door. The long, rhythmic breathing, rising and falling, was filled with a sense of relaxation from life, but also revealed a faint trace of exhaustion.

Li Yu had been too tired these past few days. He hadn't said it, nor had he shown it, but Chen Qing knew that he had barely closed his eyes for these five days.

Days of experiments without rest had pushed his mind and body to the limit. Sleep...

The Spirit Diagram Armor curled into a ball, nestled at Li Yu's waist, sleeping peacefully.

Suddenly, it heard some movement. Its ears twitched, and it looked alertly toward the door.

It was Chen Qing. She had changed into black clothes, and her whole body was almost hidden in the night, but the Spirit Probing Armor had a very keen nose and smelled her.

Chen Qing held up a finger, signaling for it not to make a sound. Then, she stepped forward, picked up the Spirit Diagram Armor, placed it in her arms, quietly left the room, and gently closed the door.

Her movements were very light; except for the Golden Scale Bubble Fish, which glanced over in confusion, she did not disturb Li Yu.

After leaving the house, Chen Qing leaped up to the rooftop, then exploded with speed, moving through the night like a streak of black light.

Under her mental transmission, a map gradually appeared on the Spirit Probing Armor's jade-white back shell. The map was large, covering its limbs and back.

On the map, over a dozen red dots were approaching Li Yu's home rapidly from several directions.

These red dots varied in brightness. Two of them were particularly bright; one was marked "Jin Yulong" because the Spirit Diagram Armor had seen him before. The other had not been seen by the Spirit Diagram Armor, so it was not marked.

But with just one glance, Chen Qing identified the other light point. A sharp killing intent burst from her eyes, and her figure suddenly turned, flying rapidly toward one of the groups. She would never allow anyone to hurt Li Yu!
