75: Chu Jingyu's second source beast

In the ancestral hall courtyard, two cages were placed, each nearly three meters wide and over two meters tall.

The Source Beast in one cage resembled a monkey; it was leaning weakly in a corner of the cage at the moment, but its eyes were intelligent, clearly possessing high wisdom.

The monkey's fur was mostly white-grey, and a layer of misty vapor enveloped its body, seemingly protecting it.

The white ape was about 1.5 meters tall, and there were three very obvious wounds on its back, likely sustained during hunting in the wild.

The book on the offering table glowed, and Chu Mu opened the Nameless Book within its space to check the information of this white ape.

"Species: Water Mist White Ape

Tier: Intermediate Alien Tier

Aptitude: Normal

Status: Bound, limited spiritual power, observed

Attribute Tendency: Water

Abilities: 1. Fog Generation: The Water Mist White Ape uses itself as the source to create a mist in its surrounding environment that interferes with other targets' perception.

2. Water Control: The Water Mist White Ape controls water elements in the surrounding environment; the denser the water elements in the surrounding environment, the stronger the skill effect.

3. Water Travel: The Water Mist White Ape can move three times its normal speed in water.

4. Water Condensation: Condenses free-floating water elements in the surrounding environment into liquid form.

Evolution Paths: 1. Water Mist White Ape → Water Spirit White Ape (unlocks by consuming three hundred Source Spirit)

2. Water Mist White Ape → Water Mirror Heart Ape (unlocks by consuming five hundred Source Spirit)"

After reading the information on the Water Mist White Ape, Chu Mu frowned slightly; this Source Beast had somewhat high environmental requirements.

All four skills were related to water, meaning its combat ability would be stronger in watery areas; in areas with less water elements, it might not even compare to half of the Uncommon Rank Source Beasts.

If it were wild, it would be fine; as long as it found a suitable habitat and didn't stray far, it would always maintain its Peak combat ability.

However, if it signed a contract with a Human Race member, its biggest drawback would be exposed. Humans cannot be tied to one place for life, and a Source Beast with fluctuating combat ability is a very dangerous and unstable factor for a Contract Master.

Although it had two evolution paths that might eliminate this drawback after evolution, looking at the expensive Source Spirit, Chu Mu decided to check the information of the other Source Beast first.

The other Source Beast was a bird with a short, thick neck, a small head, sharp eyes, and a triangular beak that was slightly hooked at the end. What was particularly striking were the white, beard-like eyebrows above its round eyes.

The feathers on its neck were fine but short, and its two wings were exceptionally wide, with broad, stiff flight feathers that seemed to be made of some kind of metal.

Its entire body was mottled with grey, black, and white, making it look exceptionally fierce from the outside.

"Species: White-Browed Mountain Eagle

Tier: Intermediate Alien Tier

Aptitude: One in a Hundred

Status: Restrained, abilities limited, unyielding

Attribute Tendency: Wind, Metal

Skills: 1. Golden Feather: The White-Browed Mountain Eagle condenses golden feather blades under its wings to perform long-range piercing attacks on targets.

2. Wind Control: Manipulates wind power, greatly enhancing its own speed.

3. Sharp Eyes: The White-Browed Mountain Eagle possesses superior vision, capable of discerning distant scenery from a very far distance.

4. Storm Golden Wings: The White-Browed Mountain Eagle spreads its wings, rapidly rotating to form a golden blade storm, tearing apart the target area.

Evolution Paths: 1. White-Browed Mountain Eagle → Azure Ridge Cloud Eagle (unlocks by consuming four hundred Source Spirit)"

After reading the information on this Source Beast, Chu Mu frowned even deeper; from its skills, this Source Beast didn't seem much stronger.

However, as a bird-type Source Beast, it had the advantage of flight at the current stage, which was very important for Chu Jingyu.

But with only one evolution path, it would be troublesome if the evolution Materials couldn't be found.

Chu Mu checked his Source Spirit balance, 180 points; he couldn't even view that single evolution path.

Across a layer of space, Chu Mu looked into the ancestral hall and swept a slightly speechless glance at Chu Jingyu, thinking that he really was just making trouble for himself.

After a moment of silence, colorful threads wove out from the book, finally extending to the cage holding the White-Browed Mountain Eagle.

Seeing this, Chu Jingyu bowed to the book on the offering table, stepped forward to the White-Browed Mountain Eagle's cage, then closed his eyes and sat cross-legged.

Somewhat transparent threads extended from various parts of his body, enveloping the White-Browed Mountain Eagle in the cage.

As soon as the white threads touched the White-Browed Mountain Eagle's body, a somewhat transparent and illusory bird shadow also appeared on it.

That illusory mountain eagle flapped its wings, severing the spreading transparent threads one by one, as if resisting some kind of restraint.

Chu Jingyu grunted, and the illusory mountain eagle's resistance had some effect.

But the next moment, more threads, seemingly covering that entire area of the cage, emerged from Chu Jingyu's body.

Then, like countless tentacles, they pierced towards the White-Browed Mountain Eagle's body; although some were severed and dissipated upon contact, many more surged into the illusory mountain eagle.

The White-Browed Mountain Eagle let out a sharp shriek; even as it struggled more fiercely, it was of no use. The illusory White-Browed Mountain Eagle was entangled by the transparent threads and suppressed back into its body.

And as a continuous stream of mental threads poured into its body, the White-Browed Mountain Eagle's struggles grew weaker and weaker, and its eyes gradually showed confusion.

Finally, the White-Browed Mountain Eagle regained its calm, and Chu Jingyu also let out a long breath, slowly opening his eyes.

He raised his palm, and a certain thought was transmitted into the White-Browed Mountain Eagle's consciousness.

It looked up at Chu Jingyu's palm, then tilted its head and placed the top of its head under Chu Jingyu's raised palm.

Seeing the White-Browed Mountain Eagle so well-behaved, Chu Jingyu smiled with satisfaction, then personally opened its cage and removed the Source Beast rings that restricted Qi on its neck and talons.

Chu Qinhui walked over from the other side. Ginseng Baby plucked one of the three leaves from the top of its head and handed it to Chu Jingyu.

Chu Jingyu took it with a smile and praised Ginseng Baby, saying, "So well-behaved."

Chu Jingyu fed the leaf to the White-Browed Mountain Eagle, and its feathers that had fallen during the struggle, as well as its old scars, healed visibly.

After all, some of these injuries looked terrifying, but they were actually just superficial wounds that didn't cause much impact on them. So even though Ginseng Baby was one Realm lower, the leaf still had an immediate effect.

Subsequently, Chu Jingyu summoned his other Source Beast, Golden Armored Jade Pupil Beast, to introduce its new partner to him,

"Golden Jade, this is the White-Browed Mountain Eagle. From now on, it will be our new partner. Come and get acquainted."

He squatted down, wanting to stroke Golden Jade's body, but a pincer stood up, blocking his descending arm, as if saying, 'Thanks, but no thanks.'

Additionally, Golden Jade turned its head to the other side and slowly crawled towards the outside of the ancestral hall, its resolute back seemingly indicating that it was angry.

Chu Jingyu rubbed his forehead; he hadn't expected Golden Jade to be unwelcoming to a new partner. It seemed he would have to coax it well later.

The White-Browed Mountain Eagle cast a sidelong glance at the Golden Armored Jade Pupil Beast's retreating back, then twisted its head in another direction.

From this set of small actions, Chu Jingyu read a thought: 'If you don't welcome me, I don't care for you either!'

Chu Jingyu patted his head; he really had no ideas. He first recalled the White-Browed Mountain Eagle to the Source Beast space, then said to Chu Qinhui:

"Arrange for someone to take this Water Mist White Ape to the backyard and take good care of it for now."

"Okay."
