59: Chapter 59 Cautious Jaeger, Forceful Attack

Yager's face darkened.

He hated variables.

Originally, it was just a simple trip; once the investigation was complete, he could just kill the Void Monster and return. Now, however, he was caught up in an invasion war.

He didn't care whether the invader was Lin Xiao or not; he only knew that he was currently in danger.

A man of wealth does not sit beneath a collapsing roof.

This was not his territory, and he hadn't brought all of his heroes and troops. This feeling of his fate being out of his hands made his mood extremely foul.

Sanier was originally somewhat excited, but when he saw Yager's dark expression, his heart skipped a beat, sensing that things were bad.

"Your Highness Yager, please rest assured. I will definitely end this invasion as quickly as possible."

Sanier made the guarantee without hesitation.

He was full of confidence.

Even if the invader really was that Lin Xiao, he was not afraid.

The opponent was not a Prodigy from a major power or a great Family; his foundation was shallow, and he would have at most one or two Epic Grade heroes and troops.

Only ten days had passed since Lin Xiao upgraded to a Tier 3 territory. During these ten days, he must have been overwhelmed just dealing with their invasions; how much energy could he possibly have left to develop himself?

At this point, he probably hadn't even passed his weakened period.

Even if he had Epic Grade heroes and troops, if their strength hadn't grown yet, they wouldn't be much stronger than a veteran Third-Tier Lord like himself.

Besides, this was just an invasion.

Could it be that Lin Xiao would disregard the safety of his own territory and lead his main army here to fight him to the death?

No matter how Sanier thought about it, he couldn't see any possibility of losing.

It was a guaranteed win.

"You had better do as you say," Yager said coldly, though his tone softened slightly.

Just then, Yager, Sanier, and the others sensed something. They simultaneously raised their heads and looked up at the sky.

Twenty massive, fiery-red figures swept past high above their heads like lightning, without even pausing.

"D-Dragons..."

Sanier's mouth fell open, and the smile on his face froze.

Wasn't it a Human Race lord invading?

Why were there Dragons?

Something was wrong, very wrong.

A flash of astonishment also crossed Yager's eyes. "Why are there Dragons? Which Human Race lord has Dragon troops under their command?"

"There are indeed a few, but none of them match these Dragons," Sanier said, shaking his head rapidly.

The Dragon Clan is at least perfect-grade.

Therefore, anyone who could possess twenty Dragons must be at least a veteran lord.

The veteran and top lords of the Human Race in the First Source Sea had fought against them countless times, and both sides knew each other's situations very well.

The Dragons under those few Human Race lords who possessed Dragon troops did not match the ones appearing in Sanier's territory at all.

"There are only two possibilities."

"Either it's this new batch of Human Race lords who just entered the Chaos Source Sea, or it's a lord from another race..."

Even as he said this, Sanier found it hard to believe.

The former was one thing, but the latter...

One had to know that currently, the Human Race and the Purgatory Race were engaged in a Race War.

When other races in the Chaos Source Sea performed random searches, they basically couldn't find the lords of these few warring races.

Unless they paid an exorbitant price to forcibly invade.

But who would dare to do that? Weren't they afraid of implicating their own race?

"Your Highness Yager, I shall take my leave first."

Now was not the time to get to the bottom of things. Sanier was extremely anxious. Those Dragons were heading straight for his Main City, and he had to rush back as fast as possible to take charge of the situation.

Watching Sanier lead his troops away, Yager did not move.

"We will hide ourselves first," he ordered.

Hearing this, several Purgatory Race troops from the army Yager brought stepped forward. They opened their mouths and spat out dense Devilish Qi, concealing their figures.

Then, they slowly retreated backward.

Facing an unknown enemy, Yager decisively chose to wait and see how things developed.

Preserving himself was the most important thing.

There was no need for him to stick his neck out.

Only if the invader and Sanier were of equal strength and neither could defeat the other would Yager choose to act and deliver the final blow.

In any other scenario, he would just watch.

Anyway, as long as Sanier died, he would be able to return to his own territory.

Sanier's position was not too far from his Main City. At his speed, he would be back very quickly.

However, the Burning Sky Flame Dragons were even faster.

Before Sanier could even return to his Main City, a super magical strike descended from high in the sky.

Terrifying dark-red fireballs broke through the clouds, plummeting down from the sky.

The defensive structures in the Main City and the defending army immediately retaliated, launching countless attacks infused with Devilish Qi at the falling Meteorites.

Sanier indeed lived up to his status as an extremely strong existence even among veteran lords. His territory's defensive strength and the power of his defending troops far exceeded those of the previous three lords, managing to blow up a total of eight Meteorites.

These eight disintegrated Meteorites turned into a countless rain of fire, sweeping through the entire city.

This was just the appetizer; the real threat was yet to come.

The remaining thirteen Meteorites, especially the largest one cast by Lin Xiao, slammed down fiercely.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Massive fireballs rose from the ground one after another.

Apocalyptic explosions occurred all over the Main City. Terrifying flames and shockwaves raged wildly inside, tearing the defending army and defensive structures to shreds.

In the blink of an eye, this Main City, armed to the teeth, turned into a sea of fire, with countless buildings destroyed.

Lin Xiao stood atop a Burning Sky Flame Dragon, observing the results of this round of strikes.

Because many Meteorites had been blown up, the outcome of this Meteorite descent was not as good as the previous times. In the Purgatory Race lord's Main City, some defensive structures still had not been completely destroyed.

These defensive structures were all of the perfect-grade.

Those of the rare grade, even if they were extremely far from the impact points of the Meteorites, simply could not withstand the impact of the aftershocks.

perfect-grade ones were far more sturdy.

Even for Epic Grade heroes, trying to destroy them would be extremely difficult.

If they hadn't encountered the beyond-standard Burning Sky Flame Dragons and faced a large-scale collective strike like the summoned Meteorites, they would have remained completely intact.

Now, the situation was not so optimistic.

Those perfect-grade structures located at the core of the explosions were directly destroyed, and the remaining ones became dilapidated but still retained some combat capability.

The Main City's defenses had not been completely dismantled.

"Qian Ying, Tu Lie."

Lin Xiao nodded, gesturing for the two of them to take action.

Tu Lie, who had been eager to move for a long time, let out a roar and jumped straight down from the Dragon's back.

"Boom!"

The commotion of him crashing to the ground was also quite shocking.

A massive crater appeared on the ground, and a wave of air swept across the surroundings.

With Tu Lie's current tens of thousands of attribute points, jumping from such a high altitude would not threaten his life at all.

"Hahaha, exhilarating!"

The spot where Tu Lie landed was around the Lords Mansion. Swinging his mountain-splitting axe, he unleashed a flurry of Blood Shadow Slashes onto a nearby defensive structure.

This defensive structure was already damaged to begin with. Under Tu Lie's fierce assault, it didn't hold out for long before being completely destroyed. With a shift of his body, Tu Lie vanished from the spot, charging toward other defensive structures.

He didn't have a terrifying defense like Zhong Yue's, so he didn't dare to storm the Lords Mansion while risking being focused on by the defensive structures.

Therefore, he chose to dismantle the defensive structures first.

Qian Ying was not as flamboyant as Tu Lie. Her figure vanished silently, slipping into the Void Realm. She did not go to dismantle the defensive structures, nor did she attack the Lords Mansion; instead, she began searching for any surviving Purgatory Race lord.
