55: Chapter 55 Jiang Churan's Scheme

Many posts discussing this year's Freshman Competition have already appeared on the school forum.

This year's Gaokao indeed saw many talents emerge, and Magic Capital University snatched up quite a few.

It's said they even recruited five provincial top scholars.

Which of the five scholars will take first place in the Freshman Competition has become the hottest topic.

"What a pity, we didn't manage to snatch the national top scholar this year!"

"The national top scholar Huo Lingyun was snatched by Jinling University!"

"Huo Lingyun is from the Fire Family, and their Foundation is in Jinling City. It's normal for her to enter Jinling University!"

"Who do you think has a better chance of taking first place among these five scholars?"

"It's definitely Lu Shengnan!"

"Lu Shengnan is a direct descendant of the Lu Family and possesses the SSS-rank talent of the ancient Divine Beast White Tiger. She'll definitely be first in the Freshman Competition!"

"I think the others have a chance too!"

"The Freshman Competition isn't just about talent; it depends on combat ability. I'm rooting for the provincial top scholar from Chuan Province, Jin Yichuan!"

"I think Shen Chong, the provincial top scholar from Xiangnan Province, also has a chance!"

"Doesn't anyone think Jiang Ling might take first place this time?"

"He cracked the Thirty-Six Heavenly Gang Steps right after enrolling and has an SSS-rank skill. Who can compare to that kind of talent?"

"Besides, it's said he earned 200,000 points in the Gaokao and should have been the national top scholar!"

"His title was only revoked because his Bracelet was damaged!"

"Oh right, I almost forgot about Jiang Ling!"

"Being able to crack the Thirty-Six Heavenly Gang Steps, his talent is indeed that of a Prodigy. Plus, he's become a Disciple of Zhao KaiCome, so his strength must have grown significantly over the past two months!"

"Anyway, this year's Freshman Competition will be very exciting. We're in for a treat!"

...

In a villa at Magic Capital University, a beautiful girl with short, neat hair had just finished showering and was looking at the forum in her pajamas.

Her eyes were like bright stars, her brows like twin swords, and her features were sharp and exquisite; she was truly a standard beauty.

However, she carried an air of 'heroine not yielding to men.' Her whole being was like a Soul Emergence sharp sword, with a pressing Aura and a heroic, valiant spirit, possessing a unique neutral charm.

When she saw the comments saying Jiang Ling was the true national top scholar and would take first in the competition, her star-like eyes suddenly flashed with a sword-like light.

"Jiang Ling?"

"Cracked the Thirty-Six Heavenly Gang Steps upon entering, SSS-rank Supernatural Ability World-Ending Divine Thunder, and a Disciple of Zhao KaiCome!"

"Interesting!"

"I won't be lonely at Magic Capital University!"

"I'm looking forward to the Freshman Competition starting soon. Let me see if you really have the ability of a national number one!"

...

In other single-room dorms, the other four provincial top scholars were also eager to try, wanting to take first in the Freshman Competition and make a name for themselves.

In another villa, Jiang Churan's beautiful face was very gloomy.

Having suffered a setback with Jiang Ling, she swore to get revenge.

An illegitimate son actually dared to treat her like that?

Simply unforgivable.

"He thinks that with Zhao KaiCome, he can act without restraint?"

"Hmph, behind me is the Tianqi Guild!"

"The Tianqi Guild is the head of the top ten guilds in Great Xia, a power that even the Federal Government relies on!"

"There are four Martial Saints in the guild alone!"

"As the vice-president of the Tianqi Guild's Demon University branch, if I can't even deal with him, I might as well quit!"

...

Picking up the phone, Jiang Churan dialed a number.

"Luo Fei!"

"When your Luo Family members enter Demon University later, I'll be looking out for them, so don't worry!"

"But you also need to do something for me!"

"You know about my illegitimate brother, Jiang Ling, right?"

"Auntie Luo should have already instructed you!"

"The Freshman Competition is coming up soon. I'll find a way to arrange for you to be on the same stage!"

"When the time comes, target him together. You must make sure he's eliminated in the preliminary rounds."

"You can also win over other participants. I can promise them a chance to join the Tianqi Guild."

"That's right, I want to suppress him!"

"I want to make it impossible for him to move an inch in Demon University, to let him know that if he dares to betray the Jiang Family, he'll have nowhere to go!"

...

In the blink of an eye, the day of the opening ceremony arrived.

The ceremony was very lively, featuring not only student performances but also some celebrities to help out.

The principal's speech was very passionate, stating that with greater ability comes greater responsibility, and hoping that every student of Demon University would take guarding the Human Race as their own responsibility, remaining faithful until death.

The day after the opening ceremony was the day of the Freshman Competition.

The annual event had the whole school in high spirits!

Jiang Ling had already received a message on his Bracelet about which stage and time slot he was assigned to.

Taking first place in the Freshman Competition came with a very good reward, so Jiang Ling didn't want to miss it.

Although he had a System, it didn't mean he didn't need resources.

Jiang Ling's preliminary round was on the third day. During the first two days, he went to several stages to watch other people's matches.

Because of the large number of participants, the preliminary rounds took the form of an elimination match.

A total of fifty people would enter a large stage and fight each other; the last five people standing would advance.

This kind of free-for-all had a lot of randomness and wasn't absolutely fair.

The school wanted to use this to tell students that there are many injustices in this world; you can't make the world adapt to you, you can only adapt to the world and carve out a path upward in an unfair world.

If one couldn't even handle this bit of unfairness, then they weren't suited to be a Martial Artist.

Every student who could enter Magic Capital University had something extraordinary about them, which was already evident in the preliminary rounds.

The students were like the Eight Immortals crossing the sea, each showing their own Divine Ability, creating many exciting scenes.

"That's the provincial top scholar from Chuan Province, Jin Yichuan!"

"Hiss!"

"He's truly powerful. With just a casual move, he intimidated everyone; no one even dared to fight him!"

"Shen Chong, the provincial top scholar from Xiangnan Province over there, is the same; he practically advanced just by standing there!"

"There's also the Diannan Province scholar Lin Haochen and the Southwest Province scholar Chu He!"

"And our local provincial top scholar, Lu Shengnan of the Lu Family!"

"Lu Shengnan is so beautiful. That neat short hair has a unique charm!"

"She's not at all comparable to those common beauties!"

"I'm in love, I'm in love!"

...

Jiang Ling originally wanted to see the strength of these provincial top scholars, but to his surprise, they hardly had to do anything.

This left him a bit disappointed.

In this kind of free-for-all, one doesn't seek to defeat all enemies; protecting oneself is the most important thing.

So generally speaking, people wouldn't go out of their way to look for trouble with the strongest!

Unless some people were unconvinced and insisted on having a match with these provincial top scholars.
