7: Chapter 7 First Pet Skill: Earth Collapse

The next day.

"Oink, oink... (Wake up, I'm hungry.)"

Li Mumu was awakened by the Little Fragrant Pig's cries. He climbed out of bed to order takeout; after a night of chaos, every bit of food in the house had been ravaged by this fellow.

Li Mumu opened the Are You Full App and ordered a family bucket, pan-fried buns, scallion pancakes, large meat buns, leek dumplings... He ordered a lot, spending seven or eight hundred Crystal Coins. While ordering, an advertisement popped up featuring the popular actress Mimi holding a beast taming ball and making gestures for five and eight.

beast taming ball: Similar to a Pokémon's Poké Ball, it has an independent space inside. It is an item that allows pets to reside within, making it convenient for professionals to carry them around for summoned combat.

Although obtaining a pet seemed simple for Li Mumu, in the Double Moon World, combat-type pets were a symbol of nobility; ordinary class-transferred individuals could not possibly possess them.

After all, the cheapest combat-type pets were priced at over five million Crystal Coins.

However, beast taming balls did not only satisfy the needs of the nobility. In the Double Moon World, there was a combat class called Beast Tamer, capable of signing contracts with wild demonic beasts to make them their summoned beasts, and beast taming balls were the items they commonly used.

Li Mumu clicked on the advertisement, picked a beast taming ball priced at fifty-eight thousand, and chose one-hour local delivery to his door.

"Ugh, I feel the heartache. This money is flowing out like water. Beast Tamers are indeed one of the two most money-burning classes, right alongside Talisman Masters," Li Mumu complained, clutching his chest.

Forty minutes later.

Ring...

The doorbell rang incessantly.

Li Mumu made several trips back and forth, while the Little Fragrant Pig gorged itself during this time. It devoured the entire eight hundred coins' worth of takeout, leaving only a single drumstick for him. His heart bled once again.

But just as the Little Fragrant Pig finished the takeout, something magical happened. A blinding white light flashed across its body.

And then... there was no 'and then'.

Because after the white light flashed, the Little Fragrant Pig hadn't changed at all.

"That's it?" Li Mumu stroked his chin, saying in surprise, "I thought it would mutate. The Little Fragrant Pig becoming a Five-Clawed Golden Dragon or a Red Fire Phoenix... after all that, isn't it still just a pig?"

[Ding! The system is about to die of anger. Would the host please look at its attribute panel, please!]

Uh—

Hearing the system prompt, Li Mumu did as told and opened the Little Fragrant Pig's attribute panel.

[Pet]: Little Fragrant Pig / ???

[Rank]: Level same as owner

[Attributes]: Four dimensions same as owner

[Pet Skill]: Heaven and Earth Shattering

"Heaven and Earth Shattering, what a domineering skill," Li Mumu said in pleasant surprise.

Heaven and Earth Shattering: A crowd control skill. Attacks enemies by releasing a yellow, stinky fart. Those who smell the fart are stunned for a period of time.

Li Mumu: "..."

Is this a joke?

A fart is a fart, why give it such a grand name?!

[Ding! This is called 'feinting to the east while attacking in the west.' It catches the enemy completely off guard.]

Li Mumu clutched his chest, thinking, "No, if I keep talking, I'll die of anger."

Just then.

Ring...

His phone rang.

"Sanmu, I'm at your door. Come out and open up."

Li Mumu walked to the front door and opened it, seeing Liu Lin standing there wearing a white mage robe.

Li Mumu froze for a moment and teased, "Why are you dressed like this? Are you cosplaying Gandalf?"

Liu Lin chuckled and said proudly, "What do you know? This is an heirloom of mine. It can increase the casting speed and power of Light-type spells."

"Well? Is it blinding your dog eyes yet!"

Haha...

Looking at the muscular Liu Lin in front of him, wearing a white mage robe over an athletic tank top, Li Mumu didn't know where to start complaining.

In short, it was just too damn eyesore.

"My goodness! What on earth have you been doing these past seven days? What level are you now?" Liu Lin asked with wide eyes.

Li Mumu rubbed his earlobe and laughed awkwardly, "Level 1!"

"Level 1?" Liu Lin grabbed his head with both hands and complained, "Holy crap, didn't you go out to kill monsters and level up?"

"No, didn't you tell me to study hard? So I stayed home and studied for seven days." Li Mumu scratched his head and said sheepishly, "By the way, which map did you go to for monster hunting?"

"Ger Forest. This Dungeon Assessment is also being held there."

Liu Lin looked like he was mourning Li Mumu's lack of ambition, then displayed his own attribute panel.

[Character]: Liu Lin

[Class]: Light-type Priest

[Rank]: Bronze

[Level]: 3

[Strength]: 20

[Agility]: 15

[Constitution]: 13

[Spirit]: 20

[Class Skill]: Holy Healing Technique

[Special Attribute]: Light Element Affinity

Light Element Affinity: Naturally sensitive to light elements, making it easier to capture light elements in the air. Spell power is slightly increased in places with abundant sunlight.

"How about that? Pretty cool, right?" Liu Lin raised his eyebrows proudly.

"Level 3?" Li Mumu's eyes lit up. "Tough guy, you're way too fierce. It's only been a few days and you've already reached Level 3?"

In the Double Moon World, leveling up could be fast, but it could also be frighteningly slow.

As for why?

Because as long as you were brave enough and not afraid of death, demonic beasts and monsters were everywhere in the wild. Staying there for a while could yield significant experience. Conversely, if you were afraid of death, you might not even break through the Bronze rank in your entire life.

And for Liu Lin to reach Level 3 in seven days, besides not being afraid of death, was quite an impressive feat in itself.

And so.

Liu Lin smiled proudly. "Look at what class I am. Sanmu, don't say your brother doesn't look out for you. Follow me from now on, and I'll carry you."

"Hehe, then I won't be polite. I'll be freeloading off Brother Lin."

"Definitely." Liu Lin then asked, "Sanmu, looking at you, you probably haven't bought a weapon, right?"

"Uh—" Li Mumu nodded.

"Sigh!"

Liu Lin understood as soon as he saw Li Mumu's awkward expression. He sighed helplessly, "I knew you hadn't bought one. There's no time to buy one now. Hurry up and pack your things; we need to set off."

"Anyway, your class has high defense, and the school gave you Purple equipment. If all else fails, you can just be the main tank. As for a weapon, just buy a piece of White gear on the way to use for now."

"By the way, for this Dungeon Assessment, our team has two stunning beauties!"

According to what Liu Lin said, they had to reach Ger Forest by this afternoon and participate in the Dungeon Assessment the next day. Time was indeed very tight.

Li Mumu nodded. "Alright, wait a second, I'll bring my pet."

Speak of the devil.

The honest and cute Little Fragrant Pig strolled over to Liu Lin's leg and made a motion like a Teddy dog in heat.

"Oink, oink..."

Li Mumu: "..."

Liu Lin: "..."

"Is your pet a pig or a Teddy?"

"A pig."

"A Teddy Pig?"

"No... Little Fragrant Pig."

"Sanmu, can I discuss something with you?"

"What is it?"

"When we meet the two beauties later, lend me the Teddy Pig for a bit."

"..."

"It. Is. A. Little. Fragrant. Pig."
