188: Blood Moon Festival

When the Blood Moon Guards' team disappeared at the end of the street, the Rabbit Demon finally released its tight grip on Lin Hu's hand.

Its long ears were still pressed against its back, looking extremely nervous, which made Lin Hu glance at it a few more times.

The other minor demons of Worry-Free Town were also afraid of the Blood Moon Guards, but none were as exaggerated as the Rabbit Demon in front of him.

Could it be because rabbits are timid?

Never mind, it's none of their business.

"Sirs, it's getting late. Why don't we find a place to stay first?"

"I know a good inn. The prices are fair, the environment is clean, and it's honest with everyone..."

"They even have different room types tailored to different races."

After the Blood Moon Guards left, the Rabbit Demon rubbed its paws and suggested.

As it spoke, the Rabbit Demon's nose twitched unnaturally.

This was a unique expression of nervousness for the Rabbit Demon tribe, and Lin Hu silently noted it down.

"Lead the way."

He casually flicked his tail, secretly giving Little Green Snake a look.

Little Green Snake understood, its slender body quietly coiling around Lin Hu's front leg, its venom sac ready, prepared to act at any moment.

The Mouse Spirit, meanwhile, clutched the soul stabilizing pearl tightly, vigilantly observing its surroundings.

"Sirs, this way."

The Rabbit Demon led them through several dimly lit alleys, where the light from the lanterns grew increasingly sparse.

A decaying scent filled the air, and the bluestones underfoot gradually turned into damp earth.

Damn it, they were almost completely out of the town now.

They had passed two inns earlier, but this little rabbit acted as if it hadn't seen them at all.

If this was normal, then there must be a ghost.

"This isn't the right way, is it?"

Lin Hu suddenly stopped, his gaze fixed on the Rabbit Demon before him.

He had already condensed his demonic Qi in his hand, ready to deliver a fatal blow to the Rabbit Demon at any moment.

The Rabbit Demon seemed to sense the killing intent. She slowly turned around, her fawning smile instantly twisting.

"It's perfectly right! This is a special passage prepared for you all!"

"Good wine needs no bush, and our inn is famous for its service. It's understandable that it's not in the bustling downtown area."

"Please look, it's just up ahead... We'll be there soon."

Lin Hu and the Mouse Spirit subconsciously looked in the direction the Rabbit Demon was pointing.

No sooner said than done, the Rabbit Demon suddenly pulled out a blood-colored Talismanic Incantation from her embrace and slammed it onto the ground.

The ground suddenly lit up with dark red patterns, forming a giant cage Formation.

Countless blood-colored chains shot out from the ground, rushing towards the three demons!

"Shameless!"

"Shameless rogue!"

Little Green Snake hissed in anger, its body shooting towards the Rabbit Demon like an arrow from a bowstring.

However, it was entangled by three blood chains in mid-air and heavily slammed onto the ground.

Lin Hu also roared in anger, his golden fur bristling, and golden flames ignited on his tiger claws.

He swung his claws, severing the attacking chains, but found that the broken chains immediately regenerated, becoming more and more numerous.

"It's useless, Lord Tiger Demon."

The Rabbit Demon retreated to the edge of the Formation, her long ears trembling violently with excitement.

There was no trace of the obsequious demeanor she had displayed on the street earlier.

"This is a Demon-Trapping Formation personally bestowed by Lord Blood Moon, specially prepared for powerful demons like you!"

"Bah!"

Little Green Snake writhed frantically on the ground, its emerald scales sizzling as the blood chains seared them, "You lowly rabbit spirit, when I get out, I'll be the first to swallow you whole!"

Lin Hu was also furious. He had made a military pledge before Lin Chuping that in due time, he would definitely bring the Ten Thousand Mountains under his control.

Now, having just taken the first step, he was actually about to be defeated by a small Rabbit Demon.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.

Lin Hu stared intently at the Rabbit Demon: "Why? We have no grievances with you!"

The Rabbit Demon's nose twitched violently, her red eyes seeming to bleed.

"No grievances?!"

"So what? Trading your lives for my son's life is worth it."

"The Blood Moon Sacrifice is coming soon. As long as I offer the three of you, my rabbit child will live!"

Upon hearing this, Little Green Snake was so angry that its entire body almost stood up.

"What a shameless rabbit spirit! To save your son, you'll harm our lives?"

"Anyway, you stupid rabbits, you have a whole litter at once. What's wrong with sacrificing one or two?"

"Look at this one!"

Little Green Snake pointed its tail tip at Lin Hu,

"He can't reproduce as much as you can. It would be such a waste to sacrifice him."

"Nonsense!"

The Rabbit Demon retorted sharply, her eyes full of fierce light.

"What do you know? You outsiders, who knows how many of you die every year? It's better to benefit me than others. Anyway, no one cares if you die!"

"Fart, you mother-f***ing rabbit!"

Little Green Snake writhed frantically on the ground, its forked tongue hissing, "I've lived for three hundred years, and I've never seen such a shameless rabbit as you!"

"Your son's life is a life, but our lives aren't lives?"

The Rabbit Demon suddenly laughed hysterically.

"I've witnessed the Blood Moon Sacrifice with my own eyes! Those small demons are drained of their vital essence, and their souls suffer eternal torment in the Blood Moon!"

"I cannot let my son suffer such a fate."

Lin Hu's tiger claws slammed down, making the blood chains clatter.

"Then you should know even more that this is the Evil Path! Do you think that if you offer us, the Envoy of Blood Moon will truly spare your son?"

"Exactly!"

Little Green Snake spat venom, corroding the blood chains, "You believe the words of evil demons? They'd love to have more fools like you walk right into their trap!"

The Rabbit Demon's ears twitched, seeming to waver slightly.

Lin Hu pressed on: "Also, how do you think we got in here?"

"Without some real skill, without some backing, would we dare to venture into the Ten Thousand Mountains?"

The Rabbit Demon's movements suddenly froze.

Little Green Snake immediately understood and added insult to injury with a sarcastic tone.

"Tsk tsk tsk, some rabbits, being used as pawns and not even knowing it. When we die, who will be the next sacrifice?"

It deliberately drew out its words, "It couldn't be some rabbit child who sold out its own kind, could it?"

Lin Hu seized the opportunity to exert force, the golden flames on his tiger claws flaring: "Release us now, and it's not too late! We'll work together to save your son!"

The Rabbit Demon's paws began to tremble. It looked at Lin Hu, then at the distance, and suddenly collapsed to the ground in despair: "It's too late... Lord Envoy of Blood Moon has already arrived..."

In the distance, twelve human skin lanterns slowly drifted closer, and the cold laughter of the Envoy of Blood Moon echoed in the night wind...
