83: Legendary Set
At the critical moment when the Human Alliance and the Longhan Kingdom were at loggerheads, the Legendary Mage Nolan appeared!
One hundred and twenty-year-old Nolan stood before the twelve great legions, his silver-white beard fluttering in the wind.
The Legion Commanders bowed in salute; many of them had been Nolan's students.
"If you all can halt your expedition, I will meet the King and have him retract his order."
The Legion Commanders exchanged glances; twenty years of peace had long dulled their Battle Intent.
Finally, the First Legion Commander stepped forward: "Teacher, we can only delay for one day at most. The King's order is irresistible."
Nolan nodded, tapping his staff lightly on the ground: "One day is enough."
Inside Nolan's residence, candlelight flickered.
As Raymond stepped into the study, he heard a sharp shout: "Rebellious grandson! Kneel!"
"Grandpa!" Raymond exclaimed in surprise, his face full of innocence, "What is this..."
Nolan slammed his palm on the tea table, shattering it. The magical fluctuations made the ancient books on the bookshelf rattle: "Still pretending, are we? Crossing the border to provoke, returning defeated, and beheading the messenger! Are you trying to drag the Human Alliance into an abyss of eternal damnation? If the Longhan Kingdom and we suffer mutual destruction, will the Eternal Continent let go of this opportunity?"
Raymond suddenly collapsed to the ground, his forehead hitting the wooden floor with a dull thud: "Grandpa, I was wrong!"
His tears and snot mixed together, his voice choked: "It was all those nobles who incited me. Please, give me another chance! I'll never dare again!"
Nolan sighed, the severity in his eyes gradually softening.
Having only had a child at sixty, it was difficult for him to be cruel to his only grandson.
"Tomorrow morning, come with me to see the King and make a humble apology," Nolan said, sitting down wearily.
Raymond nodded and bowed repeatedly: "Yes, yes, yes! Grandpa, please rest first. I'll brew some tea to apologize."
The aroma of tea filled the study. Raymond respectfully offered the teacup.
When Nolan took it, the unusual temperature from his fingertips made him frown slightly, but seeing his grandson's sincere gaze, he still took a small sip.
Almost instantly, the old man felt the magic within his body recede like a tide.
"You... what did you put in the tea!" Nolan stood up abruptly, but staggered, leaning on the desk.
Raymond had put Tears of Demon Silence in the tea, which could only be obtained one drop at a time by using Dragon Clan tears and the Night Elves' royal holy spring, infused with a forbidden magic array for twenty years!
One can imagine how rare and precious it was.
Raymond had spent all his wealth to purchase it in advance, all for this day.
"My great grandpa," Raymond's smile was terrifyingly twisted, "The weakness of you old fogeys is the Human Alliance's greatest threat! Make me apologize? Haha, you're dreaming! I haven't done anything wrong, you are the ones who are wrong!!"
Nolan tried to raise his staff but found he couldn't even conjure the simplest magic.
"Grandpa, your grandson is unfilial. Let me send you on your way!"
Nolan's aged eyes were full of shock and heartbreak: "Why, why did you do this!!"
A cold gleam covered Nolan's body, and blood splattered on the ancient books that recorded the glorious history of the Human Alliance.
Raymond wiped his blood-stained magic sword and softly said to the gradually cooling corpse: "For a new era."
Footsteps came from outside the courtyard. Old Nolan's eldest son—Raymond's father—returned from the royal capital.
The moment he pushed open the courtyard gate, the sight before him instantly froze the respected Grand Magister in place.
"You rebellious son, what have you done!!"
Raymond slowly turned around, his blood-stained magic sword scraping the ground with a harsh sound: "Heh, I'm not a rebellious son, I'm the Family's pride!"
His father's staff unleashed blinding flames, striking directly at Raymond.
Raymond merely sneered, his demon-breaking sword easily slicing through his father's attack.
A piercing thrust of the sword! It went straight through his father's chest.
The dark magic on the blade rapidly corroded his father's vitality.
"Why... why..." His father's trembling hand gripped his son's armor, his eyes filled with heartbreak and confusion.
Raymond looked down at his father indifferently, slowly pulling out the blood-stained blade: "Because you are all obstacles."
The once formidable Grand Magister fell heavily into a pool of blood, lying side by side with his father, Nolan.
Urgent footsteps came from all directions. Nolan's loyal personal guards rushed over at the sound.
With red eyes, they raised their weapons, but in the next second, they were all killed. The entire courtyard was filled with bodies and blood.
Raymond knelt down and roughly searched his grandfather Luo Lan's body, finding a cold metal key inside the blood-stained lapel.
The key was dark gold in color, engraved with the star emblem passed down through generations of the Nolan Family.
The moment the key was inserted into the treasury door, the ancient mechanism let out a dull roar.
What greeted his eyes was a set of legendary armor suspended in a magical force field—the "Star Guardian." Each plate of armor contained vast power of the stars.
Raymond's finger touched the armor, and it automatically disassembled, perfectly reassembling on his body. Surging power of the stars rushed through his veins, establishing a mysterious connection with the vast starry sky.
On the stone platform in the center of the treasury, a greatsword, completely black, was stuck—the "Night's Arbiter." Black flames that never extinguished coiled around its blade, and a fire Dragon gem was embedded in its hilt.
In a crystal display case was a legendary ring said to have drunk Dragon blood—the "Blood Moon's Oath."
A grotesquely shaped helmet—the "Abyss Gazer"—hung on a stone pillar.
The room was full of legendary equipment. When Raymond put on the full set of legendary equipment, the walls of the treasury directly collapsed, and the ground trembled.
He felt the magic in his body undergo a qualitative change. This power far exceeded anything he had ever known in his life. With a mere flick of his hand, he could move mountains, fill seas, and tear space.
This was already strength comparable to the first stage of the Ascension Realm!
"Hahahaha, who in the world dares to oppose me!!"
...Night Elves camp.
Wu Hao excitedly said: "King, I heard that the Longhan Kingdom is going to war with the Human Alliance, hahahaha, we can take this opportunity to ambush the Longhan Kingdom's main camp, leaving them caught in a pincer attack, with no place to be buried!"
Elf King Elsa wondered: "Aren't we waiting for the invasion of the Eternal Continent?"
Wu Hao couldn't wait any longer. Every night he missed the scent of Shen Nanzhi, even though he already had twenty Night Elves wives more beautiful than Shen Nanzhi. But people are just like that; the more unattainable something is, the more it stirs desire; the more something has been possessed, the more addictive it becomes.
"King! The passage has been delayed and we don't know how long it will take to open. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, don't miss it."
Elf King Elsa nodded, trusting Wu Hao implicitly: "Issue the order, notify all Shadow Guards. Tomorrow morning, prepare to march."
Suddenly, the sky abruptly darkened.
Elsa suddenly looked up, only to see—
Thousands of alchemical airships covered the entire sky like dark clouds!
The metal hulls of these behemoths reflected the cold moonlight, and the alchemical cannons suspended beneath their hulls glowed with magical light.
"What is that..." Elsa's slender fingers unconsciously tightened around the moonblade at his waist.
Wu Hao's face instantly turned pale, cold sweat beading on his forehead: "Th-that... those are steam airships. Damn it! It's the Longhan Kingdom's aerial fleet! They... they found me!!"
