43: Chapter 43 Surprise Investigation! Baili Group in Danger!

Chairman Dong Baili rested his chin on his fingers, his face full of confusion, completely baffled.

He could not understand it; he did not know where exactly things had gone wrong.

The company's relevant departments had been keeping a close eye on Xu's Heavy Industry.

How could such a massive change have occurred at Xu's Heavy Industry in just a few short days?

It was so sudden; there hadn't been any news beforehand.

"Go tell the people in the Marketing Department to temporarily halt the acquisition plan for Xu's Heavy Industry!" Chairman Dong Baili said to the secretary standing beside him.

"Yes." The secretary agreed, secretly letting out a sigh of relief.

The pressure of standing next to the chairman was too great.

Especially since he was currently in a foul mood, she had to be extremely careful even with her breathing.

She was terrified that if she were careless and annoyed the chairman, she would inevitably be scolded severely.

The secretary bowed slightly, stepped in her high heels, and walked out of the chairman's office, her waist swaying gracefully as she clicked away.

Chairman Dong Baili refocused his gaze on the laptop in front of him, carefully reviewing the data on the screen.

It recorded most of the events that had occurred at Xu's Heavy Industry over the past half-month or so.

Because the Long Nation officials had intentionally concealed it, the information was not very detailed.

However, Chairman Dong Baili had used his own methods to uncover some useful information.

For nearly the past half-month.

Especially in these last few days, Xu's Heavy Industry seemed to have suddenly lost contact with the outside world.

Not a single person had come out of the factory area, and no one from the outside could enter.

Daily necessities were delivered by specialized personnel.

Furthermore, they had to undergo inspections by the guards at the entrance.

The Xu's Heavy Industry factory area, covering a thousand acres, had now truly become a military restricted zone.

Outside the factory, there were Long Nation soldiers on guard; with a post every ten steps, they were soldiers with live ammunition.

Their sharp, imposing aura made people tremble with fear.

With such strict defenses, let alone a person, even a mosquito couldn't fly in.

"What on earth happened inside the Xu's Heavy Industry factory area?"

Chairman Dong Baili poured himself a glass of wine, rubbed his chin, and pondered alone.

The Long Nation had dispatched troops to guard Xu's Heavy Industry strictly, and in these past few days, military tanks and armored vehicles had even moved in, forming a defensive line outside the Xu's Heavy Industry factory area.

That posture was clearly one of combat and defense.

In peacetime, this was simply unimaginable.

Moreover, according to reliable sources, armed helicopters had landed at the Xu's Heavy Industry factory area, and it seemed that high-ranking officials with stars on their shoulders had stepped off the aircraft.

"With troops guarding, tanks and armored vehicles setting up defenses, and people from the military region arriving, this... it doesn't look like an investigation!!"

"On the contrary, it looks as if Xu's Heavy Industry has been placed under protection, and no one can approach or set foot in the Xu's Heavy Industry factory area."

Chairman Dong Baili frowned and analyzed.

If they really wanted to investigate the Xu's Heavy Industry factory area, there would be no need to call in people from the military region.

Two units with different jurisdictions had different areas of responsibility.

For an investigation, calling the police would have been enough.

Therefore, something must have happened inside the Xu's Heavy Industry factory area that had attracted the attention of the military!!

Thinking of this, he immediately felt agitated, a sense of indescribable frustration building in his heart.

If Xu's Heavy Industry was truly under military protection, what would happen to his plan?

Wouldn't his painstaking acquisition plan, which had cost him so much energy, be completely ruined?!

"Damn it, if that's really the case, then all my efforts have been in vain!!"

Chairman Dong Baili slammed the table hard, the anger in his eyes looking as if it were about to erupt.

In order to acquire the site of Xu's Heavy Industry and seize their only bit of core technology, he had not hesitated to visit Xu Hao in person.

Later, he had spent a large amount of funds to attack and smear Xu's Heavy Industry on the internet, all in order to take over Xu's Heavy Industry with minimal cost.

For this, he had even asked the Marketing Department, Project Department, and other departments to abandon other projects and fully prepare the acquisition plan for Xu's Heavy Industry.

Just when everything was ready and he was about to acquire it, this suddenly happened?!

"No, I cannot sit and wait for death. I must know what happened in the Xu's Heavy Industry factory area so I can take the next step!"

After thinking it over repeatedly, Chairman Dong Baili decided to have the secretary use her connections to dig for more information.

Only by knowing oneself and the enemy could he plan early.

He made a move to pick up the internal phone on the table, intending to contact his personal secretary.

Just at this moment, there was a knock on the office door.

"Knock, knock, knock..."

Chairman Dong Baili temporarily put down the phone in his hand and then shouted toward the door, "Come in!"

He raised his head and looked at the office door.

The first to walk in was his secretary, wearing a black OL uniform, her legs wrapped in black silk, and high heels on her feet. Besides her, there were two people following behind.

Chairman Dong Baili frowned, looking past the secretary at the two unfamiliar faces, his brow furrowing, confusion in his heart:

Who are these two? How could the secretary bring strangers into his office?

Before Chairman Dong Baili could ask, the secretary had an unreadable expression on her face, then introduced them to Chairman Dong Baili:

"Chairman, these are comrades from the Local Tax Bureau, Director Ma and Section Chief Gao."

Then she looked at Ma Wenkang and Gao Zimin and introduced them:

"This is the chairman of our Baili Heavy Industry Group, Mr. Dong Baili!"

Both sides nodded to each other, acknowledging the introduction.

Then, Gao Zimin took out a document and said to Chairman Dong Baili:

"Mr. Dong, per the requirements of the relevant department's documents, our bureau needs to investigate the financial, tax, and operational affairs of Baili Group. Please cooperate with our work!!"

Chairman Dong Baili was stunned, staring blankly at Ma Wenkang and Gao Zimin.

Chairman Dong Baili: "???"

What is this situation?

Everything was fine, so why suddenly investigate the taxes of Baili Group?

Before Chairman Dong Baili could react, many law enforcement officers from the Tax Bureau walked into the office from outside.

They professionally stood in every corner of the office and in front of the windows, their hands placed on their belts, their expressions solemn, their eyes fixed on Chairman Dong Baili.

At the same time, every department throughout Baili Group was controlled by people from the Tax Bureau.

Outside the group, it was blocked by a large number of law enforcement officers.

Everyone in Baili Group felt insecure, not knowing what had happened.

...

On the other side.

In the Northwest, at Tangs Heavy Industry, on the workshop production line.

"Have you heard? Xu's Heavy Industry has been surrounded by the police!!"

Xiao Wang said to the crowd.

During break time, everyone sat in a circle, chatting about gossip.

The well-informed Xiao Wang immediately broke this big news.

"What?!"

"Why was Xu's Heavy Industry suddenly surrounded by the police?"

"Has the official side started to move in for an investigation..."

Regarding news about Xu's Heavy Industry, these employees were particularly attentive.

After all, they had all once been employees of Xu's Heavy Industry.
