Chapter 165: Regret....Extreme Regret!

Anjali’s mother realized something was terribly wrong when she saw her daughter so panicked.She quickly stepped forward to ask urgently "Anjali do you know this security guard personally?"

Anjali still reeling from the shock with her eyes reddened with emotion and regret said. "Mother this man is the same person that Mrs. Lata your friend introduced as a blind date for me personally.

He is the exact same one you desperately wanted me to pursue and win back then!"

And that was all it took to leave Rekha completely speechless.

The revelation struck her like lightning. No one saw it coming. It was fast and shockingly brutal!

Rekha was absolutely shocked into momentary paralysis from this revelation. Her face went pale.

She had heard the name Alex mentioned far too many times recently. The name haunted their household.

Since missing that critical blind date opportunity with the hidden wealthy man Anjali had frequently complained endlessly to her like a nagging broken record. Day after day the regret had consumed their conversations.

Therefore how could Rekha possibly be unfamiliar with this name? It was etched into her memory.

But to discover today that the security guard she had looked down upon and insulted earlier was actually Alex himself?!

Meeting him today in person she could finally see he was indeed a man of exceptional talent and tremendous ability!

Only a man like this was truly worthy of being called her daughter’s husband and partner. She had been blind before.

Upon seeing Anjali in person Sahil looked down upon her even more than before. The photograph had been a complete lie. He pointed out bluntly "Some people should not edit and photoshop their pictures so extensively and dishonestly. Otherwise other people will not recognize the person in the photograph when they meet face-to-face in reality. Is photoshopping images to such an extreme degree not essentially fraud and deception? I can sue you for it."

After delivering this cutting observation he glanced at Rekha with obvious indifference. "My company’s chairman and majority owner is President Alex. To speak bluntly President Alex is my boss and employer. You actually looked down on him just moments ago? You genuinely have no sense of propriety or social awareness whatsoever."

As soon as Sahil finished speaking the gathered elderly men and women erupted into excited chatter and discussion.

This security guard was actually extraordinarily wealthy!

He was still Sahil’s boss and superior!

They looked at Alex with newfound respect and fascination from head to toe. Their assessment of him transformed instantly.

"This security guard is incredibly rich beyond our imagination!"

"This handsome young man is also the boss of someone who owns six houses in the city center. How much wealth must this young man personally possess?"

"It cannot be fabricated can it? This seems too incredible!"

"How could it possibly be fake? People of such high status and position disdain lying for petty reasons."

"In that case Rekha can be said to have made a catastrophically huge mistake today."

"Haha Rekha is practically blind with greed! Judging people so poorly while still dreaming of fishing for a wealthy son-in-law? She should keep dreaming!"

The crowd openly mocked and scorned Rekha without restraint.

The scandal was exposed and everyone could see it clearly now.

Seeing that the atmosphere was perfectly set Sahil went straight to the point with devastating information. "Besides serving as President Alex’s personal legal counsel I also function as his financial investment advisor. Just last week the first and second residential buildings of the newly developed Emerald Gardens Community located adjacent to this park represented assets that I helped President Alex invest in and acquire."

The reaction was immediate and explosive!

The elderly men and women gasped with shock and surprise. The discussion erupted completely out of control. Voices overlapped in excitement.


"Emerald Gardens Community is located in a top-tier premium school district!"

"My God he purchased two entire buildings in one transaction?"

"The wealth is absolutely staggering!"

Alex smiled faintly but said nothing in response to the commotion. He glanced at Anjali and her parents with mild disdain before shaking his head slowly. He turned to leave this circus behind.

At precisely this moment Anjali hurriedly caught up to him. Tears were already welling in her eyes threatening to spill over. She pleaded desperately with Alex "Are you truly so heartless and cold? You cannot even grant me one single chance?"

As someone skilled in manipulative behavior she could be both submissive and compliant when circumstances demanded it. She knew when to change tactics.

She understood perfectly when to bow her head and show humility. Pride meant nothing when fortune was at stake.

She had already decided that as long as Alex granted her an opportunity to date him officially she would be willing to do absolutely anything he asked!

Alex simply stared at her in silence. His expression revealed nothing.

This woman was genuinely annoying beyond measure.

Previously he had deleted and blocked her contact information but she continued calling frequently from different numbers. The harassment never stopped.

He had blocked one phone number after another in an endless cycle. It was exhausting.

Now that they had met face-to-face she was shamelessly clinging to him again with renewed desperation. She had no pride left.

Rekha also became frantic with anxiety. The opportunity was slipping away.

She rushed toward Alex with her face suddenly beaming with artificial smiles and false warmth.

"President Alex I was completely blind to your greatness and status just moments ago. Please forgive my terrible behavior and poor judgment!"

"My daughter is extraordinarily outstanding in every way. She genuinely likes you very much so please give her just one chance!"

"I am begging you sincerely!"

Rekha adopted a pleading expression that looked almost convincing in its desperation. Her hands clasped together.

Everyone in the gathered audience was stunned by this dramatic scene unfolding before them. The reversal was complete.

"Was Rekha not extremely arrogant and proud just moments ago? Why did she suddenly transform so completely?"

"Now I am even more convinced that this security guard genuinely possesses tremendous capability and wealth."

"It certainly seems like they share some complicated history together."

"Now I believe it completely. That security guard truly did have sufficient wealth and ability to purchase two entire residential buildings."

Alex smiled without speaking a single word. He calmly walked around Rekha as though she were merely an obstacle in his path. He turned to leave permanently without looking back.

Understanding that there was absolutely no way to salvage this catastrophic situation Rekha felt utterly devastated and defeated. Her dreams crumbled to dust.

"This is all your fault you foolish girl!"

"Could you not have shown just a little more humility before? Why did you have to behave so arrogantly?"

"If you had not offended him so thoroughly would he refuse to grant you even a single chance?"

Rekha turned to glare at her daughter before erupting into angry yelling and blame. Her frustration exploded.

This was their own daughter’s fault!

She could not even properly assess whether Alex was wealthy or poor. She had foolishly looked down on him from the beginning. It would be strange indeed if he granted them any opportunity now.

"You still dare to blame me for this disaster?" Anjali retorted with fury. Her voice rose sharply.

"You are the one who taught me all those terrible values and attitudes!"

Anjali shot back angrily "What about all that advice to ignore poor people or they will drag you down? Did you not instill these toxic ideas in me since I was a small child?"

"How dare you speak to your mother in that disrespectful tone!" Rekha was absolutely furious. Her face turned red.

She slapped her daughter across the face with one sharp strike. The sound echoed through the park.

"I am an adult woman! Why are you hitting me like a child?!"

The next moment Anjali and her mother were engaged in physical combat.

They fought viciously while punching and kicking each other. One kick landed directly in the lower abdomen area causing a sharp cry of pain.

The scene descended into complete chaotic mess. Hair was pulled. Clothing was torn.

The elderly men and women did not attempt to stop the fight. Instead they stood nearby pointing and gossiping with obvious entertainment. Some even pulled out phones to record.

"Oh my goodness those two are actually fighting each other physically. They genuinely have no morals or decency whatsoever. It is completely understandable that the security guard looked down upon them."

"That daughter is merely average-looking in person. She appears nowhere near as attractive as in those heavily edited photographs."

"We definitely cannot trust photographs anymore after witnessing this deception."

In the distance Alex smiled faintly but said nothing about the spectacle. He had no interest in their drama.

Those two mother and daughter were far too extreme in their behavior and values.

From this point forward they would remain far apart with no connection. That Chapter was permanently closed.

Just then Kavya finally located Alex. She could not help but ask with curiosity "What is all that commotion happening over there?"

"It resembles dogs fighting over scraps," Alex shrugged with indifference. His tone was casual and dismissive.
