Chapter 7 God's Definite Eradication
Chen Mu smiled faintly at Wu San's Daughter. "It seems the tiger demon's soul hasn't fully dissipated yet. It has actually possessed your body to voice its grievances through your mouth!"
"Tiger demon? What do you mean?"
Wu San's Daughter was momentarily stunned, her face filled with confusion.
At that moment, Jiang Huoyu, who had been witnessing everything from the side, also felt a sudden sense of strangeness.
A tiger demon's soul?
Possession?
What kind of nonsense was this guy talking?
The soul of the Mountain God White Tiger had clearly been sliced into nothingness by his blade; where would a possession even come from?
But Chen Mu had no intention of explaining further. Only the sound of a sharp 'clink' was heard as the Dao that had just slain the white tiger was unsheathed once more.
The tip of the blade was pointed directly at the woman's throat!
"Ah!"
Wu San's Daughter's legs instantly went weak with fright. The fear of death surged into her heart; she had never seen such a display before and immediately fell to her knees.
"I was wrong! Lord Chen! I was wrong!"
"I shouldn't have spoken such nonsense! My father deserved to die! He was a bad man! He deserved it!"
"I beg you, spare my life! I won't do it again! I'll serve you like a beast of burden! Please, I beg you!"
Wu San's Daughter trembled all over, not even daring to let out a sound as she wailed.
Seeing this, Chen Mu shook his head. "I'm sorry, but I don't accept your apology."
As his voice fell, a cold light suddenly flashed.
Puchi!
A line of blood sprayed out.
Wu San's Daughter's head flew into the air and rolled to Jiang Huoyu's feet.
Those eyes, which refused to close even in death, stared straight at her.
Jiang Huoyu jumped back with a start, her face turning deathly pale.
Chen Mu sheathed his blade and walked toward the courtyard without looking back.
"Where... where are you going?"
Jiang Huoyu quickly called out to ask.
Chen Mu spoke coldly, "To uproot the problem."
Uproot the problem?
Jiang Huoyu grit her teeth. Although she didn't understand what he meant, she still followed him.
Chen Mu flipped over the wall to enter and pushed open the main door of the Wu Family's house. The scent of candle wax wafted out; they likely hadn't had time to clean up after preparing for the daughter's wedding.
After just a quick glance, he backed out and headed toward the side rooms.
One room after another.
Searching, checking.
Jiang Huoyu watched with a racing heart.
Looking at this stance, could there be an accomplice hidden in Wu San's house?
Just then, a groan of pain drifted out from the woodshed.
Chen Mu's footsteps paused, and he walked over step by step.
The wooden door of the woodshed was pushed open. In the corner, a curled-up figure lay upon the straw.
It was an old man, so thin he was nothing but a bag of bones, covered by a tattered cotton quilt.
Chen Mu stepped inside, knelt beside the old man, and reached out to place his hand on the man's wrist.
"The oil is spent, the lamp is dry..."
Chen Mu murmured softly.
This old man was terminally ill; his internal organs had long since failed, and he was only holding on by a thread.
In the terms of his life before Transmigration, this was a body riddled with metastatic cancer; to alleviate the pain, one would need prohibited drugs.
But that wouldn't solve the problem; he still couldn't escape his destined fate of death.
Now Wu San was dead, and Wu San's Daughter was dead too.
Living on now would only mean dying in endless agony, eventually rotting, stinking, and being gnawed on by rats.
Chen Mu sighed at the old man and then drew his Dao.
"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust."
"Be on your way; suffer no more."
A flash of blade-light.
A splash of fresh blood splattered onto the firewood behind, quickly soaking in.
The entire process took less than a breath.
Chen Mu wiped his blade on the old man's ragged quilt and sheathed it.
After doing all this, Chen Mu walked over to the chicken coop in the courtyard. With a rise and fall of his blade, several dozing hens were instantly killed.
Then, he reached into the nest, pulled out the eggs one by one, and smashed them onto the ground.
Egg whites and yolks flowed across the floor.
Jiang Huoyu, who had witnessed the entire process from the start, widened her eyes in shock.
The person before her was simply a devil!
Killing people was one thing, but he wouldn't even spare the chickens and eggs!
Was this... what he meant by uprooting the problem?!
Seeing Jiang Huoyu dazed, Chen Mu immediately spoke in a low voice, "Alright, give me a hand!"
Jiang Huoyu silently stepped forward and lifted the feet of Wu San's Daughter's headless corpse.
Chen Mu, with one in each hand, picked up Wu San's Daughter's head and the old man's corpse from the woodshed.
...
The Mass Grave outside the city.
Chen Mu dug two pits, threw the bodies in, and filled them with soil.
Having handled everything, he looked directly at Jiang Huoyu.
"Now, you can speak."
"What exactly do you intend to do with those Tiger Fangs?"
Jiang Huoyu's heart tightened.
"To save someone."
She only said three words.
Chen Mu's eyebrow twitched imperceptibly; he was very unsatisfied with this answer.
Jiang Huoyu quickly added: "Does it not count as saving someone if I'm saving my future self?"
Chen Mu scrutinized the Jiang Huoyu before him.
She was very calm. After witnessing his cruel actions, she had already regained her composure, aside from her initial shock.
This Heart-Nature was definitely not that of an ordinary person.
If he put himself in her shoes and saw a stranger cold-bloodedly slaughter a family, he would only feel terror and then try every means to escape.
But Jiang Huoyu didn't run; she even followed him, watched him finish everything, and even helped carry a corpse.
Throughout the entire process, she showed no intention of fleeing or resisting.
This was too abnormal.
Chen Mu pondered for a moment, then pulled the Tiger Fangs from his robes and tossed them to Jiang Huoyu.
"Catch."
Jiang Huoyu reached out to catch them, still somewhat unable to believe it.
He... he just gave them to her like that?
Chen Mu looked at her. "The items are yours, but the martial arts Secret Manual we agreed upon must be given to me. Otherwise, I will personally visit your Jiang Family's door to demand it."
Jiang Huoyu nodded repeatedly.
Chen Mu said nothing more, turned, and left.
Watching Chen Mu's receding back, Jiang Huoyu finally breathed a sigh of relief.
...
Walking back toward the city, Chen Mu also fell into deep thought.
A martial arts Secret Manual?
He truly wanted one at first, but after the incident with Wu San's daughter, his situation had become very passive.
Ultimately, facing this Jiang Huoyu directly, he never had a guaranteed certainty of victory.
Since that was the case, he might as well give her the Tiger Fangs.
If this girl didn't keep her word and ran off with the fangs, then so be it; it wasn't a huge deal.
At the very least, she surely wouldn't be so wicked as to expose the fact that he killed Wu San's Daughter, right?
But if she actually kept her word and brought back the so-called martial arts manual, wouldn't he have made a huge profit this time?
Of course.
The reason he was currently so pathetic, weak, and passive boiled down to one thing.
And that was: the current him was still not strong enough!
