113: Hehehe, today is really my lucky day

Bai Qiuyue's eyelids fluttered; her body's instincts sensed a hint of danger.

She groggily opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was Lu Ming's mischievously smiling face.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she struggled to sit up, only to find herself completely weak, able to lean softly against his embrace.

Her voice, hoarse from sleep, was as soft and pliable as a ball of cotton: "You scoundrel, what are you trying to do now?"

"Treatment, of course."

Lu Ming looked serious, pointing at the marks on her body.

"Aunt Bai, you mustn't let your guard down. This curse is incredibly stubborn; even a slight lapse will make all our efforts in vain!"

Hearing this, Bai Qiuyue's cheeks once again flushed red.

She recalled the absurd things that had happened earlier and was so mortified she wanted to find a hole to crawl into.

She glared fiercely at Lu Ming, but her gaze held little destructive power; instead, it seemed more like a playful pout.

"I don't want to!"

Her voice was soft and sweet, with a hint of an almost imperceptible coquettishness, "You scoundrel, are you a wild donkey!"

"No, I'm a doctor!"

...How low is a 1% probability, anyway?

One only needed to see Bai Qiuyue's swollen eyes to know.

The process was agonizing, but fortunately, the outcome was good.

After several attempts, Lu Ming finally heard the system's prompt in his ear.

"Congratulations, Host, replication successful."

"Obtained Primordial Great Dao — Words Become Law (Four Stars)"

Hearing this prompt, Lu Ming let out a long sigh of relief, his taut nerves finally relaxing.

He lowered his head and looked at Bai Qiuyue, whose eyes were hazy and cheeks flushed in his arms.

Tears glistened at the corners of her eyes, and her formerly gentle and elegant aura was completely gone.

In its place was a delicate softness that invited pity.

Lu Ming raised his hand and gently wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes, his voice so tender it could melt: "Aunt Bai, are you alright?"

Bai Qiuyue closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly, and only opened them after a long while.

A hint of clarity returned to her gaze.

She raised her weak hand, intending to push Lu Ming away, but he caught it and pressed it to his chest.

"You... you scoundrel!"

Her voice carried a sense of helplessness, yet also an indescribable weariness and hoarseness.

Lu Ming didn't retort, merely smiled and pulled her tighter: "Now, do you still think I'm a wild donkey?"

Bai Qiuyue's cheeks flushed even more, and she buried her head in his embrace in embarrassment, her voice muffled: "You're even more of a scoundrel than a wild donkey..."

Lu Ming laughed heartily: "Don't flatter me, Aunt Bai; a healer has a parent's heart."

Bai Qiuyue gave him a fierce glare, secretly vowing to herself.

Once they returned to Great Xia, she would definitely keep her distance from this brat.

This scoundrel had actually forced her to use that embarrassing address while she was still groggy.

If Lier and Zhao Qingge found out, she truly wouldn't be able to live.

It was too humiliating!

Just thinking about it made Bai Qiuyue's teeth itch with anger, yet she was helpless.

"What a scoundrel!"

Lu Ming smiled even more broadly, then asked: "By the way, Aunt Bai, shouldn't we be heading back? We've been missing for so long; my aunt and the others must be worried, right?"

Earlier, while Bai Qiuyue was asleep, he had explored most of this secret realm.

Unfortunately, he wasn't the fabled Chosen One.

The legacy here had already been inherited by Bai Qiuyue's master, leaving only an empty shell.

"Go back... did you say?"

"But that Shadow Guard is still outside, isn't he?"

For some unknown reason, Bai Qiuyue subconsciously didn't want to leave.

Actually, with her current recovered strength, that Shadow Guard was no longer a threat at all.

It was just... she couldn't bear to leave this embrace.

In this isolated world, she could cast aside all her identities and act like a little woman, lying in his arms and pouting.

But if they were outside... she was the Director of the White Tiger Bureau of the Night Watch Division, and even this brat's nominal Aunt Bai!

How could Lu Ming not see through her thoughts?

He comforted her: "Don't worry, Aunt Bai, I'll explain everything clearly to my aunt and the others."

"No!"

Bai Qiuyue suddenly struggled out of Lu Ming's embrace, her flushed face filled with panic.

"This... this matter must never be known by anyone!"

Bai Qiuyue panicked.

If Zhao Qingge found out that she, as her senior sister, had secretly slept with her niece's man... then... she couldn't even imagine the consequences.

Especially since she had harshly reprimanded Zhao Qingge that night.

And then she had turned around and done exactly what Zhao Qingge had been longing for... If Zhao Qingge found out about this, how could she ever face her?

The more Bai Qiuyue thought about it, the more flustered she became, her mind a tangled mess.

Her mind was blank now; she could only take things one step at a time.

In any case, this matter absolutely could not be known by them!

She glared fiercely at Lu Ming, her eyes full of warning.

As for Lu Ming... it didn't matter!

Actually, being sneaky had its own unique flavor!

...Above the lake.

Shadow Guard Six was furious.

He furiously poured spiritual energy into the lake in front of him.

Shadow Guard One said he was a fool who knew how to fish with explosives.

His other brothers and sisters also thought he was crazy.

But he could swear to the heavens.

He had truly seen that despicable couple jump into the lake with his own eyes.

But when he caught up, there was nothing in the bottom of the lake except a puddle of mud, not a trace of human presence.

He repeatedly searched, even stirring the lake water into a frenzy, but still found no trace of Lu Ming and Bai Qiuyue.

"Damn it!" Shadow Guard Six angrily punched the ground, creating a deep crater.

He couldn't understand how those two could have disappeared into thin air.

Logically speaking, even a fish would have to come up for air, right?

Three days, a full three days and three nights, he had guarded the lakeside, not moving an inch, yet he still hadn't seen any sign of that despicable couple.

Could it be... there was an undercurrent at the bottom of the lake that led to other places?

Thinking of this possibility, Shadow Guard Six's face immediately darkened, his scarlet eyes staring intently at the pool.

"Damn human brat..." He cursed in a low voice, "He actually got away!"

He no longer hesitated; he leaped into the pool and dove towards the bottom.

Once, twice... Shadow Guard Six tirelessly searched the bottom of the lake.

He had a premonition that this despicable couple was definitely hiding in some unknown corner.

He kept diving, passing through the dark lake water, and finally, amidst a giant rock at the bottom of the lake, he discovered an unusual place.

There was an ancient bronze door there, covered in moss, almost blending in with the rock.

"Damn human brat, you're actually hiding here!"

A sinister smile appeared on Shadow Guard Six's face.

He punched the bronze door fiercely, however, his fist felt as if it had hit cotton, and the bronze door remained motionless.

Shadow Guard Six refused to believe it; he mobilized all the spiritual power in his body and fiercely smashed the bronze door again.

This time, the bronze door emitted an ancient hum, and then a dazzling light lit up on the door, directly sending Shadow Guard Six flying out.

"This... this is an ancient legacy!"

Shadow Guard Six's face showed an expression of ecstatic joy.

He never would have imagined that an ancient legacy was hidden at the bottom of this lake.

"Hehehe, today truly is my lucky day!"
