107: Just law enforcement

Just as Gary was hesitating, the sparks between Calvin and Marcus grew more intense.

The bellicose Marcus had even stepped forward to press his chest against Calvin's, the provocation in his eyes ready to burst forth.

"Calvin, weren't you quite capable back at Spring Breeze Academy?"

"Did you really think I was no match for you just because you led those students from the Knight Department to beat me a few times?"

"Look at us now; who is the truly powerful one?"

Marcus lowered his voice, saying raspily, "You are inferior to me!"

Faced with Marcus's provocation, even though Calvin possessed a Heart of Patience, his brow still twitched with anger.

But as a knight who observed the precepts of the seven virtues, Calvin could not actively oppress others like Marcus did.

Consequently, in the face of Marcus's repeated provocations, Calvin could only suppress his inner fury time and again, maintaining the balance of his Heart of Patience.

Calvin knew that as soon as he retaliated, he would have [Broken a Precept].

Marcus knew this as well, which was why he pressured Calvin so unscrupulously.

"Marcus, you've gone too far."

At that moment, the Scout from the Deep Blue Squad spoke up.

This Scout was a tall female Adventurer. She wore tight-fitting leather armor with two daggers strapped to her waist, and her golden, shoulder-length short hair gave her an extraordinary air of heroism.

The Scout was named Irene, currently a Third-Tier Professional of the [Shadow Assassin] school.

Irene took two steps forward, pulling Calvin behind her, and directly confronted the aggressive Marcus.

Irene let out a cold laugh, her eyes filled with deep disdain and disgust. She looked Marcus up and down before saying in a biting tone, "It is said that the Path of the Warrior requires following the [precept of justice]."

"What, do you think looking for trouble for no reason is justice?"

Marcus was momentarily choked up by Irene's words. Just as he was about to say something, he was interrupted by another female voice.

"Instead of that, you should be more concerned about Hebrew."

The speaker was the Scout of the Crimson Squad, named Camilla.

Camilla was also a female Adventurer, and her figure and looks were on par with Irene's; even their schools were the same.

However, compared to Irene's heroic and spirited demeanor, Camilla's image was that of a red-haired, wavy-haired dancer with sultry makeup, her words exuding an overwhelming aura of hormonal charm.

Camilla rested one hand on Marcus's shoulder while pointing the other at the pale-faced male mage—Hebrew—and said softly, "It's such a pity for a man to be so frail."

Just a moment ago, Hebrew had accepted a commission from the board to subjugate a Forest Giant Bear.

But Marcus had suddenly appeared and snatched the commission letter from his hand while Hebrew wasn't paying attention.

Hebrew naturally knew Marcus and immediately used Mage Hand to fight for the commission letter.

To his surprise, upon seeing Hebrew use Mage Hand, Marcus directly surged his Battle Qi and kicked Hebrew in the chest, sending him flying.

Although he was a Third-Tier Mage, Hebrew's constitution was barely at the First-Tier level. How could he withstand a sneak attack from a Third-Tier Warrior who focused on strength?

Under Marcus's Battle Qi-infused kick, Hebrew had fallen unconscious on the spot.

Fortunately, Sophia, the Priest of the Deep Blue Squad, had cast a Heal in time to alleviate Hebrew's injuries, preventing any further complications.

Hearing Camilla's thorn-filled 'consolation,' Irene flew into a rage. She stepped forward, grabbed Camilla by the collar, and said coldly, "You bitch."

"What did you say?"

Marcus frowned from the side and quickly reached out to push Irene away.

Due to the conflict between the two squads, the Adventurers in the reception hall had gathered around to watch.

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Marcus didn't dare pull any tricks. Thus, he simply pushed Irene away without the hidden Battle Qi he had used against Hebrew.

After pushing Irene back, Marcus reached out with his other hand and pulled Camilla by her slender waist.

He lowered his head, sniffing at Camilla's hair with a look of intoxication on his face.

Then, Marcus kept his head down and said to Irene, "A real man should have unparalleled physical strength."

"Hebrew is like a sissy."

"Oh, maybe most male mages are sissies?"

"Hahahaha~"

As he spoke, Marcus broke into uncontrollable laughter, and Camilla and the other members of the Crimson Squad joined in.

The mage of the Crimson Squad was a female Adventurer, and she seemed to agree wholeheartedly with Marcus's words.

"You're right."

Just as Marcus was laughing his head off, a faint voice rang out.

"What else? Am I not right?"

Still laughing, Marcus looked toward the person who had voiced their "agreement."

What met his eyes was a mage robe as crimson as fire.

Then came a pair of bright red eyes that seemed to be burning.

Arthur walked through the crowd as if they weren't there. Without even a glance at Marcus, he walked up to Gary and said softly, "Leave this to me. Once Caster returns, I can take a vacation for a while, right?"

Seeing that the newcomer was Arthur, Gary immediately breathed a sigh of relief. A faint smile appeared on his face as he said, "I heard long ago that you were promoted to the Third-Tier, but this is the first time I've seen you today."

"Don't worry. Afterward, not only can you take a leave, but you won't miss out on any of the rewards you deserve."

Having received Gary's promise, Arthur nodded and then looked up at Marcus.

"Who the hell are you?"

Watching Arthur and Gary whisper to each other, their words implying they were on the same side, Marcus had already realized Arthur's identity.

A Disciplinary Committee Member.

However, Marcus had never been afraid of any Disciplinary Committee Member except for Caster, especially since Arthur was a new face.

Therefore, Marcus showed Arthur no courtesy whatsoever. Instead, he said in an even cruder tone:

"What, Caster isn't here and Gary doesn't dare interfere, so you, a little mouse, decided to stick your neck out?"

"If Caster knew about this, would he be moved to tears?"

"Pfft."

Marcus's words immediately made Camilla laugh. She promptly kissed Marcus on the neck, leaving a fiery red lipstick mark.

Arthur did not answer. He simply held up three fingers and said as if no one else were there, "Marcus, according to the adventurer regulations and the Association Covenant, you have provoked a conflict in a public place without cause, used supernatural power to attack others without authorization, and ignored the mediation and management of a Disciplinary Committee Member."

"In summary, you have seriously violated the adventurer regulations and the Association Covenant. Based on previous cases, a full-team investigation will now be conducted on you and the Crimson Squad."

"Please cooperate, you and your squad members."
