126: Inner monologue

Kinslayer.

Half-breed.

Bastard.

Freak.

Every accusation was like a sharp blade, mercilessly piercing into the deepest parts of Chloe's heart.

What did a newborn Chloe understand?

She understood nothing.

Simply because the five percent of Titan Giant blood in her body had undergone an atavistic awakening, her life was completely shattered.

When others were a year old, they could still only crawl on the ground.

But when Chloe was three months old, she could already walk around like a three-year-old child.

By the time others had just learned to walk, Chloe had already been running and jumping for some time.

After entering adolescence, this difference became even more apparent.

When Chloe, who was a head taller than the average adult male, appeared, she could make the other teenagers in the village fall silent.

The timid ones even wet their pants on the spot, running away while crying out "Monster!"

With all these abnormalities, Chloe always found it difficult to fit in with her peers.

As time went on, she even suffered collective isolation and alienation from others.

Consequently, Chloe became increasingly taciturn and silent.

Increasingly... fond of being alone.

Seeing Chloe's changes day by day, her father also seemed weighed down by worries, becoming irritable, short-tempered, and even alcoholic.

Under this self-indulgence, Chloe's father soon died suddenly after hitting his head while in a drunken stupor.

From then on, Chloe was all alone.

With the death of her only relative, Chloe's connection to the village became extremely thin.

Ultimately, during a conflict, Chloe completely broke ties with the village and left on the spot, becoming an Adventurer and wandering abroad.

Chloe's eyes grew misty as she recalled that day she would never forget for the rest of her life.

It was a sunny morning.

Chloe was planting vegetables in the field.

For some unknown reason, several half-grown boys of her age stayed not far from Chloe, whispering and murmuring from time to time, looking at her with strange and ulterior motives.

Soon, one of the half-grown boys, egged on by the others, approached Chloe.

At that time, although Chloe was tall, her muscles were not as robust as they were now.

If one had to describe it, she had a bit of a Lady Dimitrescu feel.

She had a unique charm.

Looking up at Chloe, who he had to crane his neck to see, the boy swallowed hard and, under the encouraging gazes of his companions, opened his mouth and said in a raspy voice:

"Hey big girl, want to play something interesting with us?"

Chloe, who was tilling the field, was stunned; this was the first time she had ever been invited by her peers.

In fact, Chloe had rehearsed this situation countless times in her heart.

At the end of the day, she was just an ordinary young girl.

She wanted to have friends, wanted to play with them, and wanted a relaxed and happy childhood.

It was only the physical abnormalities that made it impossible for her to fit in, even leading to encouraged exclusion.

Wasn't Chloe's heart lonely as well?

Therefore, facing the boy's invitation, Chloe only hesitated for a split second before dropping her farm work and revealing a brilliant smile.

"Sure!"

So, Chloe followed the several half-grown boys into a forest.

The boys led Chloe deeper and deeper, soon far away from the village, arriving at a deserted spot in the forest.

Here, the boys tore off their disguises and revealed their true faces.

They were nothing more than vermin whose brains were controlled by instinctive desire.

They reached out their claws toward Chloe; although her stature far exceeded ordinary people, in the end, two fists were no match for four hands.

Unprepared, Chloe was soon subdued by their combined efforts, and then all her clothes were stripped away.

If nothing went wrong, what awaited Chloe would be endless humiliation and torture.

However, an unexpected turn of events occurred.

After one of the boys called Chloe a "Kinslayer" once again, she completely snapped.

An impulse called heat surged from the depths of her bloodline, carrying unparalleled power and flowing through her entire body along with her blood circulation.

That was the great power hidden within her five percent Titan Giant bloodline!

Under the blessing of this power, Chloe's mind fell into a frenzy.

In the chaos, Chloe personally hammered the boys into meat paste with her bare hands.

Literal meat paste.

After the violent outburst, what followed was the extreme terror brought by killing for the first time.

Chloe was just an innocent, ordinary girl.

Facing this situation, she was lost, she was afraid, she was at a loss, and she was powerless.

Covered in blood and bone shards, she fled the scene and stumbled back home.

Out of fear, Chloe chose to use sleep to alleviate the anxiety in her heart.

Before long, the boys' failure to return caused a stir, and the villagers turned out in force to search for them in the woods.

Chloe woke up again because of the noise outside the door.

She barely managed to recover from the terror of the killing and opened the door; even though it was a deep starry night, what met her eyes was the flickering light of fire.

Those were the torches in the villagers' hands.

Chloe's appearance immediately triggered a wave of public indignation.

Looking at the blood on Chloe's body, their faces showed undisguised disgust, and their mouths spewed constant insults.

Kinslayer, half-breed, bastard, freak... these labels were once again pinned on Chloe's head, stinging her soul.

Chloe gradually realized something.

But it was too late.

The villagers, knowing Chloe had killed, fell into a complete frenzy; shouting the name of divine punishment, they surrounded Chloe's house.

In the next moment, amidst the Village Chief's resentful voice, everyone threw the torches in their hands at Chloe... Fire.

Such a large fire.

Orange-red flames shot into the sky, and menacing fire snakes bared their fangs and claws.

Smoke filled the air, and the heat was scorching.

Chloe stood in the sea of fire, but there was no despair in her heart.

There was only boundless tranquility.

Looking at those familiar faces, for the first time, a thought arose in Chloe's mind.

"I was born a half-breed, what is my fault?"

"What did I do wrong?"

"Am I born inferior to others?"

No one answered her.

The sea of fire burned, and the smoke obscured everything.

Chloe's figure also vanished within the flames.

No trace remained.

It wasn't until a day later that the fire died out.

The villagers came to investigate, but they only saw a ground full of white ash and charcoal.

Other than that, there was nothing else.

What they didn't know was that Chloe had escaped that night.

Titan Giants are naturally unafraid of fire.

Even with only five percent Titan Giant blood, Chloe still charged out.

From then on, the world lost a half-breed farmer named Chloe and gained a Giant Warrior named Chloe.

This is Chloe's story.
