104: Chapter 104 Shadow Hunter Ambush? The Treant Squad Wiped Out

After leaving the section of the official road where the Iron Wolf Alliance had blocked them, Lin Zhe and his group continued toward Holy Light City.

The sky gradually darkened.

The trees along the official road grew denser, and not far ahead, a temporary supply point appeared.

A few wooden sheds.

A water well.

And several campfires that had mostly died out.

Qing Yu first led some people to check the surroundings, and after confirming there were no obvious dangers, she returned and cupped her fists.

"Big Shot Lin, we can rest here tonight."

Lin Zhe nodded.

The guard team quickly dispersed.

Some went to fetch water.

Others set up watch posts.

And a few Priests buffed the warriors who had been traveling non-stop.

Xing Jianwan leaned against a wooden pillar, wiping her longbow, her eyes constantly scanning the surroundings.

Ling Xi sat by the campfire holding Lin Yueyao, her expression gentle. The little girl was sleeping soundly, her small hand still clutching the shrunken high priests scepter.

Lin Zhe sat not far away, resting with his eyes closed, his expression calm.

But as the night deepened, the wind in the woods grew colder.

Just past midnight.

At the edge of the Dark Forest, dozens of dark shadows crept along the ground.

They were all Abyssal Shadow Hunters.

Each wore black leather armor and a black mask, moving without a sound.

The leader raised his hand and pressed down, and the group behind him stopped immediately.

He held a coil of pitch-black rope in his hand, his eyes full of malice.

"Look closely."

"The Elf Princess is in the middle."

"Once the Soul-Confusing Smoke spreads, use the Immortal-Binding Rope to tie her up first and take her away immediately."

A Shadow Hunter beside him licked his lips and sneered in a low voice.

"Capture her and offer her to the Abyss; the merit will be enough to last a lifetime."

Someone else spoke sinisterly.

"Don't let that Lin Zhe go either."

"Take his head back as a gift for Lady Witch; maybe we can even trade it for a piece of Dark Gold equipment."

Several people laughed quietly.

The next second, they simultaneously pulled out black smoke pellets and Immortal-Binding Ropes, continuing to press forward.

Ninety meters.

Eighty meters.

Seventy meters.

Just as they stepped within a hundred-meter radius of Lin Zhe—

Buzz!

A teal jade pendant at Ling Xi's waist suddenly lit up!

That was the Nature Warning Pendant.

With a flash of light, Ling Xi instantly opened her eyes.

Her originally gentle eyes turned cold in that instant.

"The Abyss again."

Qing Yu and the others also stood up abruptly, their bowstrings tightening with a snap.

"Enemy attack!"

The faces of the dozens of Shadow Hunters all changed.

"We've been spotted!"

"Quick! Release the smoke!"

But just as they raised their hands, Ling Xi had already extended a finger and tapped the ground lightly.

Boom!

The entire ground around the supply point shook violently!

The woods came alive!

Old trees shook frantically, roots burst forth, and soil churned!

The next second, over a hundred Treants, each more than two people tall, forced their way out of the ground!

Every one of them radiated a dense natural aura.

Every single one was a Level 15 Elite!

Their pale green eyes lit up simultaneously in the dark night.

The scene instantly erupted!

"Treants?!"

"How can there be so many!"

"Retreat! Retreat quickly!"

But it was too late.

Ling Xi's voice was cold, with only two words.

"Take them down."

Boom!

Over a hundred Treants lunged forward at once!

Branches as thick as bowls swung with the sound of wind, smashing down head-on!

Bang!

The Shadow Hunter at the very front couldn't even dodge; he was whipped away by a branch on the spot, his health bar dropping by half while still in mid-air.

The second Treant raised its arm and swept across.

Crack!

Three Shadow Hunters were slapped to the ground like tattered bags, their bones crunching.

Over a dozen vines burst from the ground, binding feet, locking waists, and wrapping hands, directly hoisting up the people who wanted to release the Soul-Confusing Smoke.

"Ah!"

"Save me!"

"My Immortal-Binding Rope—"

Before he could finish his sentence, a Treant had already slapped him across the face.

Bang!

White light exploded!

The first Shadow Hunter was sent back to the respawn point.

Then the second.

The third.

The fourth!

The woods were filled with roars and screams.

Qing Yu stood on the periphery with the guard team, not even getting a real chance to strike, only able to watch as the Treant group swept through everything.

"So fierce..."

"Princess Ling Xi's move is too ruthless!"

Xing Jianwan watched the Shadow Hunters falling in swathes in the dark night, the corner of her mouth curling slightly.

"They picked the wrong person."

In less than three minutes.

The last Shadow Hunter was about to use Stealth to escape when he was blocked by two Treants from front and back.

Crack! Crack!

Two slaps later.

He was directly turned into white light.

The surroundings suddenly fell silent.

Dozens of Abyssal Shadow Hunters were wiped out.

Only a pile of dropped materials remained on the ground, covering the area in a dark mass.

High-grade Shadow Crystal Core.

Dark Forging Metal.

Shadow Beast Claw.

And a few rare Abyssal Enchantment Bone Fragments.

Qing Yu's eyes lit up.

"They're all good things!"

Ling Xi walked forward holding Lin Yueyao, her expression already returned to calm.

She glanced at the materials scattered on the ground and spoke directly.

"Distribute these among everyone."

"They were delivered right to us."

The members of the guard team were first stunned, then ecstatic.

"Thank you, Princess Ling Xi!"

"Many thanks!"

Qing Yu immediately led the people to distribute the materials.

The Archers took the Shadow Crystal Cores.

The warriors took the Dark Metal.

A few Mages carried off the Enchantment Bone Fragments, their hands trembling.

Soon, a glow of enhancement lit up by the supply point.

Someone added Shadow Penetration to their longbow.

Someone embedded a crystal core into their bracer.

There was even a warrior who re-forged his weapon on the spot, a flash of black light appearing on the blade's edge.

"It's done!"

"My attack has increased!"

"My bow has an additional Shadow Damage effect!"

Qing Yu embedded a High-grade Shadow Crystal Core into the moon goddess longbow, and a layer of eerie green patterns instantly emerged on the bow's body.

She raised her hand to test the bowstring, and a sharp sound rang through the air.

"My combat power has increased by at least another notch."

The members of the guard team all had shining eyes, their morale soaring.

Lin Zhe watched this scene, his expression calm.

The Abyss faction truly hasn't behaved yet.

However, it doesn't matter how many come.

Ling Xi gently touched the warning pendant at her waist, which had darkened again, and stood back beside Lin Zhe, her voice very soft.

"It should be quiet tonight."

Lin Zhe hummed in agreement, but his gaze swept toward the deeper parts of the Dark Forest.

The night there was a bit heavier than before.
