19: Chapter 19 The Wolves Launch a Surprise Attack, and We Cubs Level Up
There was still a full day left before the three-day deadline set by the Wild Wolf Gang.
The monster farming area at the entrance of Luofeng Village was as bustling as ever.
Wild rabbits respawned and wolves roamed as Guardian players farmed levels while keeping a close eye on the dirt road leading out of the village.
Everyone thought they still had another day to prepare.
However, just after noon, the teleportation array at the village entrance suddenly erupted with continuous flashes of white light.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
One after another.
Ten flashes.
Thirty flashes.
Fifty flashes.
Soon, exactly one hundred players stepped out of the teleportation array.
They were in neat formation, the green light from their equipment merging into a single glow.
A sea of Green-tier equipment!
The lowest level among them was Level 10.
The leader carried an iron sword that flickered with blue light. A hideous scar ran across his face, and the ID above his head was incredibly eye-catching.
[Player: Wild Wolf]
[Level: 12]
[Class: Warrior]
[HP: 437/437]
[Equipment: Blue-tier Iron Sword, Green-tier Leather Armor Set]
The players outside the farming area instantly erupted in a frenzy.
"Wild Wolf Gang!"
"Didn't they say they were coming tomorrow?"
"They're early! They've arrived a day early!"
"Damn, a hundred people, all in Green-tier gear!"
"Wild Wolf is Level 12? That level is way too high!"
The solo players who were farming just a moment ago stopped everything they were doing.
Some gripped their wooden shields tightly.
Others subconsciously looked toward Lin Zhe.
The patrol team had originally been full of momentum, but their expressions changed when they saw the hundred Level 10+ players pressing forward in unison.
The level gap was too large.
The equipment gap was also massive.
If a fight really broke out, these solo players at Levels 4, 5, and 6 wouldn't be able to withstand a few rounds of charging.
Xing Jianwan immediately raised her cold light staff and stood in front of Lin Zhe.
Her gaze turned cold.
"They came early."
Lin Zhe stood in the center of the earthen slope, his expression remaining calm.
"I see them."
Wild Wolf led his hundred-man group and stopped thirty meters away from the slope.
He looked at Lin Zhe, then at the surrounding players, a cold sneer appearing on his face.
"Quite lively, isn't it?"
"What? Were you all waiting for tomorrow?"
He hoisted the blue iron sword onto his shoulder, his voice suddenly rising.
"I decided to come today instead!"
"Give you a day to keep calling for backup? In your dreams!"
The members of the Wild Wolf Gang burst into laughter.
"The Gang Leader is wise!"
"Catch them off guard!"
"What 'Big Shot Lin'? Today, we'll turn him into a dead NPC!"
The surrounding Luofeng Village players turned pale with anger.
A solo warrior gritted his teeth and cursed, "Wild Wolf, have you no shame? You said yourself it would be three days, and now you launch a surprise attack early?"
Wild Wolf looked at him and gave a mocking laugh.
"All is fair in war, understand?"
"Solo trash should just shut up."
"Whoever dares to help this NPC today, I'll kill you along with him."
The solo player gripped his shield, but was pulled back by a companion.
"Don't be impulsive, their levels are too high."
Wild Wolf was very satisfied with this reaction.
What he wanted was pressure.
A hundred players over Level 10.
Full sets of Green-tier gear.
Plus him, a Level 12 Warrior with a Blue-tier iron sword.
In the entire Luofeng Village, who could stop them?
Xing Jianwan said coldly, "Wild Wolf, do you really think you can win just because you have more people?"
Wild Wolf stared at her, greed flashing in his eyes.
"Xing Jianwan, I'll give you one more chance."
"Leave that NPC now, and I won't touch you."
"Otherwise, I'll send you back to the respawn point with him in a moment."
Firelight ignited at the tip of Xing Jianwan's staff.
"You can try."
Wild Wolf laughed even louder.
"Don't be in such a hurry."
"I'm not being stupid this time."
He raised his hand and pointed forward.
"You ten, go up and test him."
Ten Level 10 players stepped out from the Wild Wolf Gang's ranks.
Five Warriors, two Mages, two Archers, and one Assassin.
They didn't charge blindly like before; instead, they formed small tactical formations and approached Lin Zhe bit by bit.
The surrounding players immediately grew tense.
"They're going to test the damage reflection!"
"Ten Level 10 players in Green-tier gear—their HP is much higher than before."
"Can Big Shot Lin reflect them to death?"
"He should be able to, right... twenty people were wiped out before."
"Those were low levels; this group is all Level 10!"
Xing Jianwan also gripped her staff tightly.
She could see Wild Wolf's plan.
First, use ten people to test Lin Zhe's reflection damage.
If it was still an instant kill, Wild Wolf might retreat.
If it wasn't an instant kill, the hundred-man group would press forward together.
That was the real trouble.
Lin Zhe did not move.
Rule Perception spread out for five hundred meters.
The status of those ten players appeared before his eyes.
[Level: 10]
[HP: 300-460]
[Malice: 91]
[Status: Probing Attack]
Lin Zhe's gaze was indifferent.
The ten people quickly rushed into attack range.
"Do it!"
A Warrior growled.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
Five Green-tier longswords hacked down simultaneously.
Fireballs, arrows, and daggers also slammed into Lin Zhe at the same moment.
Just as Xing Jianwan was about to act, Lin Zhe said faintly, "No need."
The next second.
Hum—
A pale gold reflection barrier suddenly lit up.
Boom!
All ten attacks were reflected!
The ten Wild Wolf Gang players screamed simultaneously as they were sent flying backward.
Thud thud thud!
They crashed heavily onto the ground, their health bars plummeting wildly.
437.
291.
180.
126.
The lowest-health Mage was even worse off, with only ninety-some HP remaining.
But they weren't dead.
Not a single one of them died.
They all crawled up with slivers of health, their faces pale, but they were still alive.
The area around the slope instantly fell silent.
The hearts of the Luofeng Village players sank.
"No instant kill?"
"Level 10 Green-tier gear has too much health!"
"They only lost about seventy percent!"
"It's over. If a hundred people really go up together..."
Wild Wolf was stunned at first.
Then, a burst of wild laughter erupted.
"Hahahaha!"
"Do you see that!"
"His reflection has a limit!"
"He couldn't even instant-kill ten Level 10 players!"
He suddenly raised his blue iron sword, the blade pointing at Lin Zhe.
"Brothers, he's not that godly!"
"If a hundred people attack at once, we can definitely shatter his reflection barrier!"
The morale of the Wild Wolf Gang's hundred-man group soared.
"Break the reflection barrier!"
"Hack the NPC out of existence!"
"Reclaim the farming area!"
"Long live the Wild Wolf Gang!"
A hundred people roared in unison, the sound waves making the faces of the players around the slope turn pale.
Many solo players began to retreat.
It wasn't that they didn't want to help.
It was just too terrifying.
Even though those ten probing players had been reflected into a crippled state, as long as backline Priests and potions were used, they would soon be able to fight again.
On the other hand, most of the players on their side were still low-level.
If the hundred-man group really charged in, they might not even be able to hold their formation.
A female Priest's voice trembled.
"Big Shot Lin... what should we do?"
No one answered.
Everyone looked at Lin Zhe.
Xing Jianwan stood in front of Lin Zhe, the firelight on her staff already condensed into a ball.
She lowered her voice.
"If they all charge, I'll take out Wild Wolf first."
Lin Zhe looked at the hundred-man group opposite him, his eyes showing not the slightest ripple.
"No rush."
Xing Jianwan was taken aback.
Even at a time like this, he wasn't in a rush?
Lin Zhe's gaze fell on his system panel.
[First child gestating]
[Current Offspring Grade: Peak Rare Grade]
[epic grade Barrier: Final breakthrough in progress]
[Estimated breakthrough time: Within a few hours]
The golden text was flashing.
Pulse after pulse.
Like a heartbeat.
The grade of his eldest son was already stuck before the final thin membrane.
Just a few hours away.
Perhaps even faster.
The corners of Lin Zhe's mouth curled slightly.
Wild Wolf coming a day early had indeed disrupted some people's plans.
But for him, it just meant the show was starting early.
Holding out for a few hours.
How hard could that be?
Wild Wolf was still laughing wildly.
"Lin Zhe!"
"Weren't you acting all high and mighty?"
"Why aren't you talking now?"
"Today, I'm going to shatter your crappy NPC barrier right in front of everyone in Luofeng Village!"
He turned back to the hundred-man group behind him.
"Everyone, prepare!"
"Mages, charge your fireballs!"
"Archers, draw your bows!"
"Warriors, move forward!"
Boom!
The Wild Wolf Gang's hundred-man group spread out in formation.
Rows upon rows of skill lights began to glow.
The Luofeng Village players completely panicked.
"They're really going all in!"
"Guardian team, to the front!"
"Don't panic! Don't push!"
"Damn, my hands are shaking!"
Xing Jianwan took a deep breath and took another step closer.
Lin Zhe merely looked up at the surging lights of the skills behind Wild Wolf.
In his Rule Perception, the Malice values were a sea of crimson.
And on the system panel, that line of golden notification was flashing even faster.
[epic grade Barrier: Final breakthrough in progress]
